  1. At one time I read that flowers could be brought on the ship as long as no soil or roots were attached. I’d like to bring flowers with me , so I will give it a try.
  2. Terrific! Enjoy your dinner, and cruise! 😊
  3. Good idea to take your receipt with you. I wouldn’t see any problems once you show that. You could always go to the Steakhouse once on board and verify with them as well. Keep checking your Planner as well, the reservation just might show up as promised.
  4. No, they don’t laugh at all. But if you think about the situation from his point of view…he doesn’t know who the child is or to whom he belongs. It does raise an interesting question. Who carries around one’s childrens’ birth certificates? How does a parent prove that the child is his/her’s? I used to cross the border frequently with my kids….back in the early 80’s, and nothing was even mentioned. Times have changed. Border guards did laugh back then if I recall..🤣
  5. Anyone do the Diamond museum? I found it compact and really enjoyable. It’s on a street perpendicular and close to the Rijksmuseum.
  6. Thank you! I plan to use Azova with the green test boxes if required in Nov. i should also ask, are the green test boxes okay to use in England? Would you know? TIA
  7. WOW…am I late to the party 🇨🇦🇨🇦 All your tributes are so wonderful and I echo your sentiments whole-heartedly!! My Canada, My Home 🇨🇦🇨🇦
  8. I sort of answered my own question….the BMO prepaid mastercard sucks. They charge 2.5% FTF on top of the daily currency exchange rate prescribed by mastercard international. They charge cash advance fees of $5.00 if you try to get your own cash from the card at an ATM. There’s an annual fee just to have the privilege of having a zero credit limit credit card. This is almost too funny. It’s a great card for paying anything that exceeds your actual credit card limit. I’ve used mine to pay for goods over $10,000…without a problem. Oh well…I guess I’ll make use of my HT card. I will take cash too.
  9. I bought a whole bunch of GBP and Euros in anticipation to my visit and cruise in November. Now I find out that merchants prefer credit cards. I prefer cash outside Canada just in case something goes wrong with the card. I have the BMO Prepaid Travel Card now called the BMO Prepaid Mastercard. How would I load foreign currency on it? I often transfer Canadian currency from my chequing account for super expensive purchases that go beyond the limit of my usual credit cards, without a problem. But I doubt that I can go to an ATM in London, UK and transfer anything to the card from my chequing account. Or do I exchange all my foreign currency back to Canadian dollars and load it on to the Travel Card from my chequing account? I’ll have to look to see if they charge all the foreign fees as if it’s a credit card. They actually do call it a credit card with zero credit limit…if you can believe that! I think it’s so they can charge cash advance fees if you transfer (your own) money off the card back into your own chequing account…and yes they do that! They didn’t while it was called a travel card. I do have the HT Visa card, so that’s a back-up. 😕
  10. Is it okay to use one’s iPad to do the proctored Covid test instead of the small cell phone? I just find it easier to see images on my iPad a whole lot easier than on the small screen of my cell phone. Also, the iPad can stand ‘up’ alot easier than the phone. TIA
  11. People do have the right to express their feelings, the staff has to determine if it’s justified or not to change the situation. I think the funniest situation I saw was when an older (70+) woman felt it was okay to place her cane on the table….someone did complain (not me)…and a staff member asked her to remove it. She grumbled, but she did. It wasn’t a funny, ha ha, type of situation…but funny interesting that she thought it was okay to place her cane across a tableclothed table. Maybe where she comes from, it is okay. Who knows.
  12. Complaining to whom? Of course RCI should enforce their own rules and so be it. I have seen ball caps being worn in the MDR….but I don’t complain to anyone. I don’t care for the look….but it seems that many do. Social graces have changed over the generations and there are as many of the ‘younger’ generation who judge the appearance of the ‘older’ generation as is the opposite. Expressing opinions isn’t complaining…I’m not perfect and haven’t walked a mile in anyone else’s shoes so I don’t have the right to complain…..but I am allowed an opinion. 😊
  13. LOL…I’m sure that someone would complain about something, there’s always THAT person! But at least I would feel that I am dressed appropriately for the dining venue. I don’t complain about what someone is wearing because I haven’t walked in their shoes….but when I see baseball hats, cut-off t-shirts, or even dresses that should have more fabric on them, I just raise my eyebrows…and carry on.
  14. You’re saying that this company can come into the baggage hall at the cruise port and take your suitcases out to either the airport or designated hotel? That would really be useful especially if one wanted to take the train to the airport….no luggage hassles.
  15. Well Jeez…..so judgemental…if you don’t like what you read..just keep on scrolling….I didn’t ask for comments…and it wasn’t directed at you. In case you don’t know….a Main Dining Room is not a ‘casual’ environment….the Wind Jammer is.
  16. I’m sure that’s what I said….people will not conform to other people’s wishes - in this case - Royal’s suggested dress codes. They will do what they want regardless of the social graces. I can only dress how I feel is appropriate and at the same time, follow suggested dress codes.
  17. That sounds reasonable especially if your sister didn’t contribute financially to the costs of the cruise. One misses these finer points by travelling solo.
  18. ….and that’s the start..some people just don’t want to conform to other people’s wishes, even if for only a few hours or less. Guidelines or not, they’re going to do what they want.
  19. Did some official ask to see your passport? If so, then they saw your ArriveCan submission. It links to your passport.
  20. Families can all be done at the same time in the same document.
  21. That’s my assumption as well, but other says not. I really don’t know because I typically cruise solo.
  22. How does that work out if just one person paid for the cruise? Or if the other person is 5-years old? If only one cc was given, how does the second person receive their portion of the FCC? I guess in the case of the OBC, Carnival keeps the half that can’t be given to the second person. In my case, the cancelled booking was a solo one. If the replacement booking includes a second person…then that person has no right to ‘my’ new and improved OBC? If that is the case, why does that pop-up keep asking me to ask other members in the cabin if it’s okay to spend the OBC? Or if the first booking included my 5-yr old niece….how does she spend her so-called half….she doesn’t yet have a cc. Does Carnival send her an FCC in her name, even if she didn’t contribute financially to the cruise fare? Something doesn’t sound right.
  23. I was under the impression that OBC was per cabin and not per particular person. I happen to be solo on a cruise coming up in November. Received a nice OBC from a cancelled cruise back in Dec 2020….and everytime I used the OBC to prebuy water, Pepsi, dinner rezzies, etc….a reminder comes up for me to check with other cabin occupants to make sure that they are in agreement with my using it. I don’t see why your ex-wife ‘owns’ half the OBC….perhaps ask your PVP where she gets that information? I believe an OBC is per cabin for all to use or agree to use.
  24. I agree that some people can be over zealous when it comes to being safe and having an uncomplicated passage. It isn’t the end of the world if one doesn’t have one, or loses it while travelling. Believe it or not, some people do believe that one is ‘stuck’ if passport-less. It’s a gigantic hassle to find the right government office to start the process of replacing it and especially in a non-English speaking country. But it’s free choice to own a passport. As much as some are overzealous in saying one absolutely needs one….it’s being misinformed to say one doesn’t need one if travelling outside your home country. I recommend a traveller have one…but again, it’s free choice.
