My family celebrated Mothers Day today because my soon to be 19 year old granddaughter is leaving early tomorrow morning for her college trip to Israel. Toby and I are not thrilled by this but there is nothing that we can do . There will be armed security guards traveling with them.

Thanks,Graham.The condo complex has more amenities than any I have ever been to .Three outdoor pools ,six tennis courts ,two basketball courts,outside volley ball,bocci ,a two room health club,library,movie theater,entertainment room for live shows,three playgrounds with all kinds of activities,jogging path and a dog run. Nearly everyone living here either has a dog or a cat.Nearly every person on the street I live on is an avid cruiser.

Summer has arrived.It is 80 degrees now.We have several show business people living in our Condo complex . One a singer ,is outside rehearsing with his band .

I am supposed to be on a low sodium diet .Eating out is nearly impossible for me.Eating on a cruise presents problems.I was told on my last cruise to speak to a Head Waiter and have her or him go with me to speak to the head Chef which I did. I had to do the latest dinner seating and after finishing I ordered my food for the following day..

I was surprised when I read that you and RJ were moving to Fla.In my opinion you live in a great town.

He did not tell me that. However,I googled the city and there is a large amount of snow

A friend of mine moved from NY to San Diego 40 years ago.He said it was the best place to live.My wife and I have been there several times and it was great.Much to my surprise my friend and his wife relocated a few years ago to Oregon.

There are great restaurants there.My younger daughter lived there after graduating college.She moved there because her boyfriend at the time was into surfing and that is a very popular place for that . A singer who is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame lives there as does a retired MLB player.

Kiplinger has Portland ,ME and Rochester ,NY as great places to retire to.A former co-worker of mine who moved to Hawaii when he was in his 40’s relocated to Rochester after retirement .I love Portland .I have been there several times.If I was younger and healthy I would consider the Toronto area.I have two friends there .

My daughter who has the upstate NY house is in Delaware County.One of my former neighbors relocated there .A lot of formerly LI people are there now.

My 3 best friends from HS left NY .One to North Carolina,one to Northern California and then to Oregon and the third to Southern California and then to Northern California.

Many people that I know who live in Manhattan and Westchester take the LIRR to Long Beach or drive to Long Beach .It is a much less congested area with a beautiful boardwalk and great restaurants.People in my part of LI who could walk to Jones Beach flock to Long Beach .They even have summer concerts .

A friend of mine who was retired from the NYPD moved from NY to Tennessee about 20 years ago and loved the area.My friends from Brooklyn scattered all over the US after retirement .We never did because we love LI.

Visalia ,Calif has a lot of residents who moved from NYC.Every summer they have a get together of former NYC residents including a woman that I went to HS with. One of my daughters and her husband have a home in upstate NY that has a fulltime population of 251.Many people come there to ski in the winter.

My soon to be 19 year old granddaughter is supposed to be going to Israel on Sunday with 39 students from her college and several Professors. Toby and I are very worried about this. We hope that the college cancels the trip but we do not think they will.

Both of my parents always looked much younger than their age .

We have never lived in a house for more than 20 years.We have friends who have been living in a NYC apartment building for 55 years.

75 degrees here .The sky was blue earlier but now it is getting cloudy.

We were on a cruise in 2017 where people were coughing in the air non stop.I happened to be sitting in the library and suggested to the Librarian that he make an announcement to the passengers about their behavior but he was not interested.I then went to Guest Services and they also had no interest. My wife is a retired RN and she was really angry about the behavior.

We have cruised on Cunard,Celebrity,HAL,RCI ,NCL and Carnival. We prefer Celebrity and RCI to any of the others.

When we lived in NYC we had a similiar garden. Now living in our condo townhouse we share a lawn with 15 other home owners.We also have a small amount of grass in front of the house.
