Monday July 24 will be my 80th.birthday.My daughters are making me a party on Sunday and have invited close to 100 people.Friends from my childhood, every school that I attended, several work friends, neighbors who became close friends,my nieces and families, nephews and families and many cousins. The reason that I am posting this today rather than tomorrow or Sunday is that several people are coming from long distances and they will be coming to my house today, tonight and tomorrow and I am not sure specifically when they will be here. The reason for such a large gathering is that 5 years ago I was critically Ill land my family made me a Celebration of Life Party. Somehow I am still around ,something totally unexpected in July 2018. My daughters have been planning my birthday party since January of this year to make sure that my long time close friends will be able to come.

My earliest memory of going to Brighton was boarding the train at either Prospect Park or Parkside Avenue and after the train left the Sheepshead Bay Station everyone would get up and look to see the ocean .My wife grew up in Coney Island and was on that line more than anyone I ever knew.

Bobby Tuzzeo,Editor and Publisher of 21st Century Rock magazine was in a New York band in the 80’s.The band was playing in a NY club one night singing original and songs of other artists.Graham Nash was in the club ,heard their rendition of CSN’s Almost Cut My Hair and said it was the very best that he ever heard.

I remember when the hotel was really classy. There was a movie theater on 23 St. close to Lexington Ave that became a stage theater later . There was a theater called Theatron on 22 St between Lexington and Third that offered stage plays for $1.00 .The theater had about 80 seats.

I worked in that area for 25 plus years .It was very beautiful. The residents as I am sure you know all had access to a private park.

Allegedly unsafe “hop-on, hop-off” bus tours in New York City
lenquixote66 replied to GTJ's topic in East Coast Departures
Although I have lived in NY my entire life I have never driven in Manhattan. My preference has always been city buses.I have actually been on sightseeing buses with no problem. -

This afternoon I was listening to a program on radio. The host of the show mentioned that whenever he watches a baseball game he always looks in the stands to see if he recognizes anyone.I do this as well but never did . A few minutes ago I was watching the Mets and I saw a guy who I worked with and last saw 30 years ago.
