That list seems at first to be enticing ;however ,it will not apply to us even though we are just 28 mies door to door from the pier in SD .We first must have a handicap balcony .We have not sailed in any other category in over 25 years . si ut us yseless for us but perhaps good for others . Imconsistent is yes in communicating with this cruise line . Most likely all of us posting on this thread has had that happen more than we like to admit . CCL corp has said that they are saving a lot on their food recently . for us who invest into CCL stock that is great but ,what about the ciustomer on the ship ;which we are as well ? This past March we sailed on Celebrity soltive B2B for 15 wonderful days . Yes we are very high with X but ,that has nothing to do with comparing both lines .Definitely the food was better & more selections at dinner in the MDR .The entertainment was better because they had full shows every night ie . Yes it was worth iit for us .We just can not sail Celebrity because my DW no longer can fky & X rrarely sails from San Odro .They once sailed from San diego & wish they did this again .So we have adapted to HAL koningsdam ,the only ship we would consider sailing on with HAL from our local port SD We are not against HAL as we can stay busy wotjh what they do offer but ,ues there are vast differences between HAL & Celebrity

We havem't been on a Princess ship for awhile now ;as we mostly sail holland from San Diego our home port ;but ,we can take the Amrak train to SF for a June 28 ,2025 Alaska cruise Mt question us have they ever enlarged the shower area because the last time cthe shower was so small you virtually had to size the walls & spin . Now a bit heavier & in my mid 80s I can;t easily get up to Gym showers as often as I like So what is the prognosis on the size of the showers in a BE category balcony on Caribe deck for the Ruby Princess .. It is 10 :30 PM here in San diego county on Friday Dec 8 ,2024 .I just weas into the HAL web site & had absolitely no problem seeing all 4 of our booked cruises

You can buy liquor in the on board store as well as any rthing else like jewelry & use the OBC

Yes ,. different strokes for different folks . We do not drink alcohol except on rare occasions a glass of wine . so the HIA will not benefit us . We love to arrange private tours & have done many in the world during the last 25 to 30 years . I do not crave looking at a computer screen on ay cruise we take . so we leave those things at home . We are there oon a ship to enjoy the sea & destinations & activities that the dhip may provide .As we say fofferent strokes for different holks . Yes ,we allare diffrent ,thank God

We are not drinkers .Leave the computer home ,we are on vacation . The ship has computers if i really need it . Orefer doing my own tours . will pay for any special dinners with our discount . We never take the HIA .We usually get enough OBC to pay for the tips

LOl HAL reads these boards & when every one still thinks it is a steal gives them a green light to increase it again in time not too lomng from now Oh inflation , Yeah sure

We are looking to book a 11 day Alaska cruise Sept 2025 from SF round trip pm Ruby Princess .We can rake amtrak round tri & have uner take us around .My DW cam bot fly any longer .So we leave from solan Beach to SF ino ne day take hotel for a douple nights pre cruise .We been to SF many many times The northern light will be seens in Sept in alaska .We have seen them before awwsome

Crystal finally I had no problem with the web site not using incognito .Knock on wood . Now my last hurdle is getting my $550 in on board credits from that new website for my 100 shares of CCL stock ,4 cruises It has been challenging

The Holl The kpningsdam is more like the Soltice class of Celebrity but smaller in tonage at about 99000 tons vs about 128000tons . Celebrity has evening sjows every night ,Joningsdam has deancers no shows . The HAL ship has music walk , BBKings Blues , Rock music room --more hard rock nor roknroll which we like . Theu also have billboard on board which is 2 graqnd pianos with players ^ they sing .Usually a man & a woman facing each other .so if you like a variety of music then you will like HAL on the Koninsdam ,a Pinnacle class ship . As far as food I found the Soltice which we did a B2B in March was better but food is also subjective . If you are going to Mexcico then they bring Mariachis aboard .If alska they are the best with Natualists aboard & full proenade . If Hawaii they have entertainment like I=Ukelle lessons ,hula lessons & lei making ie on the way to Hawaii nor going back The gym is very good & so are the change rooms .showers . The main pool has a cover for bad weather conditions .so swiming is possible with cool cloudy weather . The delo sandwhiches are great as is the pizza at the Deli .dive in is not to be missed for burgwers ,fries & not dogs . The lido food is decent . the ships is clean & modern ,Don't miss the dutch Cafe mid ships deck 3 starboard .Great pea soip & other dutch specialities free Toy will have a great time

We have sailed Noirdam in 2015 from SD to Sydney ,another long cruise . We agree with your post & we always do a table for 2 early dining ,Great service by the staff

Well I have a March 2024 Mexico cruise that HAL has listed as a 50 % off cruise . i checked & my price already booked is cheaper than this sale

But that is what HAL reps have told us .both myself & my wife on different pgone conversations . when it happens to other people seems to me to be a different story .Well it is going to happen .We are finding a lot od inconsistency .I will no longer waste my time advising people of this . I have posted the problem so let every one deal with it in their own way

We are not talking about the OBC for the Carnival stock .That we take vcare of ourselves . Yes the AARP program must be updayed with HAL corp every year .That is Not what this thread ias about . What this thread is about is what HAL reps have told us that all On board Credits due us are controlled by the Mariner number . So ,there are early booking bonus ,there are welcome back OBC bonus ,there are current AARP OBC bonus ie .This is what we are finding out is that it is not automatic as we have been told .you must now be vigilant to get all the On Board Credits that you deserve for new bookings . Thus ,the purpose of this thread is to make aware of the un suspecting holland america customer of what is necessary in todays booking a new cruise . We now keep sending e-mails to ur Travel Agent to follow up on what we deserve .There is a lot of money invplved when you have many new bookings for earned on board credits .We have 4 bookings with HAL

although our TA has been in business many years with the volume of new bookings we are finding thast they as well as other TAs we have used are being over whelmed with new bookings ;as proven by the statistics of new record bookings .Thus ,they miss these details & in fact they truly do not ccare to spend their time on setting the on board vreots unless we remind them of these facts . This imo is the real world not what we wish . However ,by the same token all holland Reps should not tell customers that your Mariner number controls all on board credits that are deserved like early booking OBCs , AARP OBCs , welcome back OBCs .We can't tell you how many times we heard from their reps that your Mariner number controls the OBCs . But ,yo get thos OBCs it is needed that we personally follow up

From past conversations with Holland America representative we where told that our Mariner number controlled all bonuses automatically added to our new bookings . Now we come to find out that we have to tell our Travel agent with our booking number what we deserve for the new booking or we need to get a HAL representative on the phone . This seems to us a problem . Why is this happening with this cruise line ? We expect more than just lip service & has it all happened to you ? For our Carnival Stock credits that we handle ourselves to get them applied to each booking

Jaqui There are so many bonus offers that HAL gives out it is hard to rember em them all . . Many times we have toremind HAL to give us our AARP bonus in newly booked cruises & we had been told that our Mariner number pulls all outr entitled bonus but ,that turns out not to be true ,ala the AARP which we must ask to get through our TA . We never take the HIA plan because we are not drinkers & it seems to me that for it to be worthwhile a person needs to consume several alcohol drinks per day

when we add all the costs together & have to remind HAL about Mariner & AARP OBC credits it can get sticky ,at times . We understand that buying at 11.86 is a low cost . It is just my personal stock training & watch this economy deteriorate that I dpn't hold many stocks except those that are paying big dividends that would soften a down turn ,like VZ ,Verizon ,T --ATT & some pipeline companies . The last thing people would give us is their cell phones .Cash flows are very good with VZ & T . On VZ when we bought shares it was paying over 9 % , Hard to miss with a dividend at that level with a company & a strong balance sheet

when you are ahead there is never a problem but ,for those that bought much higher ,it is a dent in their portfolios . If I buy this CCL stock I day trade & swing trade because I do not see CCL as a growth stock ;certainly with as much debt they must carry on their balance sheet

We get a kick from people who are familiar with their technology & skills relating to that technology . We are in our mid 80s & it is far harder to master new technology We rely on our adult grand children for that help when needed . Technologu can be over bearing & like Ai serious
