Alaska inside passage cruises are generally a very gentle cruise .Thus ,any location in my mind is fine . your pocket book should determine choice of cabin & location . That being said any cruise can hit rough waters ,so there is never a guarantee ,My DW takes dramamine right before the ship moves & she is fine the whole cruise Once we were on a 73000 ton vessel returning from Hawaii to SD & hit into 30 to 40 foot waves ,a following sea .my DW was fine & we had a rear facing balcony cabin .what a sight to see those waves & following sea

Scooterround rets scooters & delivers to the ship & picks up .It is delivered to the cabin .We inquired ,A 3 wheel scooter to rent for 12 days would be $261 for a Dec 2022 cruise Could not find a Mobile transport company that would do it cheaper

It will be nice to see different shows on Koningsdam this Dec 10th cruise as well as the B2B Dec 17th cruise we are taking to the Mexican Riviera 😃

Is it ok to arrive after the assigned time ? .We need to hire a Uber Van that can take my wife;'s electric scooter plus all the luggage .

Recently speaking to some HAL operations people they intend to bring back some things that people here say are missing ;as staff is available on board ship ,😄.so we must have patience

We see the preliminary B P & our cruise starts Dec 10 ,2022 ,Here it is Nov 11 ,2022 & still no final boarding Pass .Id this normal for HAL & if so when should we be getting one on line .Every thing for pre boarding info was done long ago . What has been your experience in time prior to the actual cruise date to be able to print out the final boarding pass & are they now scheduling specific arrival times for the San Diego port ? TIA

Many years ago I worked in mu cousins 5 start Italian dinner restaurant . We did Caesar salads from scratch at the table side . We did shrimp scampi on the dining room floor live .A lot of personal touches . How toy earned extra tips was all do to being like able , fast & effective with the food hot . We also poured wine & brought drinks to the tables . We knew it all . in those days we were making more in 5 to 6 hours than I made in a full day ,at my day job .Yes i definitely know sloppy ,decent ,better & best service qualities & tip accordingly .If service does not meet what I expect ,I do talk with the Maitre'd

imo HAL is as good as Celebrity . Having been away from cruises since March 2019 ,these 2 December B2B cruises on koningsdam will feel wonderful & I will be able to celebrate my 84th birthday on a cruise .doesn;t get any better than that 😃😃😃

We found some thing that UBER & LYFT may have .It is called "AWW Mobility Works ,There is a form to fill in & send on line . Also Phone numbers rentals is 1-877-275-4915 . Service is 1-977-275-4912 We just sent a message to them November 8 ,2022 for pick ip with a cooter we take for the ship luggage for 2 people about a 35 minute ride . Expecting answer between 10 am to Noon November 8th .When we get it will post it They do show vans with wheel chair /scooter type availability ,so it is promising

We are also looking for a Van with a scooter platform to take from our home in Encinitas ,SD to the cruise terminal & back after the cruise .any suggestions are well appreciated ,TIA

Ok OK let us all understand that there are different strikes for different folks We all have our own priorities . For us it is simple .If any cruise line disappoints us we go to another cruise line .If we need to pay more for a upscaled deluxe cruise experience we just cruise less times ,simple decision making process .No hassles

Here is the bottom line . no one really wants to pay more for their cruises . However ,reality is it costs Carnival corporation more each & every day to operate their ships when it comes to fuel going higher ,food costs going higher , dry dock costs going higher ,the salaried people on a ship & land wages going higher . So ultimately , any business has to cut back or raise their sales prices or go out of business . Then it becomes the offerings of the most healthy balance sheet against the balance sheet of the less financially healthy business No one likes or enjoys any cut backs . The reasons we cruise is for their food diversification ,quality of their food , all the services on board & the entertainment value plus the itinerary .If ant one of these lessens which we perceive important we would not sail that cruise line & go else where to even cruise less but cruise on a upscale .pricier cruise line with all the services & niceties . Remember you get what you pay for .

Are those comedy shows printed in the daily paper aboard ship ?

That is good advice as long as that Navigator App is working .I already have it downloaded on my cell phone

All of the comments about why you folks sail on HAL is why we sail HAL as well . Essentially ,we sail from San Diego ,our home port & on occasion we will sail with Celebrity from San Pedro World Cruise Center ,Los Angeles county . If we had known that X would not frequent the SD & LA ports on a regular basis when we started cruising we would have done many more HAL cruises .HAL in just about all areas except the main showroom is equal to Celebrity . Yes there are some differences but not enough to push us to Celebrity 100% . We have enjoyed even HALs smaller ships but now our favorite ships in the HAL fleet are the Pinnacle class vessels .We just hope all goes well in the future for HAL being part of Carnival Corp 😀

Perhaps but most people will tip according to the quality of the meal & the service rendered . It is not uncommon that we tip 20% in a very good land based restaurant because the meal was delicious & the service spotless above & beyond .The best restaurants already hire & train their staffs for quality service
