Offers received from Club Royale (Royal Caribbean)
Lady Hudson replied to Daghis's topic in Cruise Casinos
Just making a comment from my sister about possible club royale offers/changes. Last one she booked was early April and still free for 2. -
Offers received from Club Royale (Royal Caribbean)
Lady Hudson replied to Daghis's topic in Cruise Casinos
Just talked to my sister who is the one who got the offers. No more checking points on a cruise to see if qualified for a free cruise and then playing more to the points needed. As my sister said — this is no longer a free cruise — it’s a BOGO. Katherine -
Offers received from Club Royale (Royal Caribbean)

Wow. This about about not having a free second person. Does the casino department want everyone to sail solo? Are they not interested in the casino revenue they could get from a second passenger? I agree that we may have to rethink trying to reach a certain level — will it be worth it? -

Best wishes to all celebrating this time of year. It will be a glorious day in southeastern PA. We got a call last night (around 10 pm) that our grandson and his girlfriend will be joining us today. So our dinner for 7 now becomes 9. Good thing there is always plenty of food. Off to church in a bit and then starting the preparations for dinner today. Safe travels to all visiting family. Good morning and blessings to all. Prayers for those who are dealing with health issues. It will be a busy day getting ready for the holiday dinner tomorrow. I will be going with my brother in law to pick up the catering and foods to prepare appetizers and desserts. Weather is iffy — only 51 degrees and cloudy. But 80 degrees by the end of the week. Such is spring. Last night’s church service was very interesting. Scripture readings pertaining to the last days of Christ and his disciples while the lights in the church were continually lowered until it was almost completely dark. Singing the last hymn in the dark was a bit difficult. I know tomorrow’s service will be much more uplifting! Twin sister Karen has received a free cruise offer for Anthem of the Seas and has invited me to go with her on 4/23. I really didn’t plan on going on another trip so quickly but it was an offer I couldn’t refuse. My son and daughter will alternate days staying with their Dad. My kids are great. Have a great weekend and safe travels to all visiting family. Katherine

Good morning to all. This is a really early post for me but when one falls asleep at 9:30 this is what happens. Prayers for those in need. May everyone stay safe during this crazy weather so far this season. After no snow at all this year, we have been hit with two hailstone storms so far. Today’s weather is forecasting 70 degrees but storms starting this afternoon. My day will consist of figuring out appetizers and desserts for Sunday. Small group of 7 for dinner. Catering from Wegmans for the main meal. My sister and I have decided that we are going to try to cater most holiday meals from now on. The cost really isn’t that much more and makes for a nice day for the two of us. Church services beginning tonight for Easter week. It is an active time for my local church. Prayers for those in need and especially for those dealing with medical issues. Stay safe everyone. Katherine

The Fleet Report and Daily for Tuesday April 4th, 2023
Lady Hudson replied to StLouisCruisers's topic in Holland America Line
Marshhawk - DH got a bill like that once. A Dr walked in the room, looked at DH’s finger, and basically said you are all healed. Took about 5 seconds. The Dr charged the insurance around $6000. We got a copy of the bill which we were not required to pay. However, DH would not let it go. Called Drs office about the exorbitant charge. Was told “Don’t worry about it — insurance will pay”. DH said this is why insurance is so expensive and said he was going to report this to the AMA. A few weeks later he got an adjusted insurance bill. The Dr got no where near $6000. There’s a moral to my story but I am not quite sure what it is!! 😀 Katherine- 126 replies

Good morning and Happy Palm Sunday to all who celebrate. Church service in a few hours and then baseball to take up the afternoon. Dinner? Definitely not quite sure yet. Storms here last night which included 2 bouts of hail. No damage that I can see. Sure has been a crazy spring so far. Prayers for all who have been negatively affected by this weather. Prayers for all victims of gun violence but my heart breaks for the victims of the recent mass shooting in Tennessee. Best wishes for a wonderful Sunday for all. Thanks to all who contribute to this “happy place” on Cruise Critic. Katherine- 79 replies

How do people afford $20,000 suites?
Lady Hudson replied to Sigyn's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I will comment here. I understand that there are people who can afford to spend $20,000 on one cruise. Good for them and Godspeed. We choose to do 8 or 9 cruises a year instead and enjoy each one. I know many people struggle financially but there is also a much smaller percentage who don’t. Spending as much as we do on cruises is something we would not have done for many decades. Now, in our seventies, it’s a different story. It’s a matter of choice. -
Going to try to get definitive answer on what was going on. Sister comes home tomorrow.

Sounds good. Will use DSis from now on.

Good morning all. Prayers for all in need. (I do need to get the hang of that blue bubble thing.) Glad to see so many getting back to cruising but, in my opinion, prices are really high. We have nothing booked until September when we are booked on a 14 day Canada/Greenland trip but that is a long way off. I went to a 25th anniversary celebration yesterday for the school where I ended my career. Saw and heard from some students putting items in a time capsule to be opened in another 25 years. I will only be 97 then so I will be good to go! But it was great to see that kids never change - they were as cheerful and bright as usual. Good for our future. Another bright spot today — opening day for baseball. Go Mets!! Best wishes for all. Stay safe. Katherine

Sister!

Wow — that is a lot of restrictions. I knew about the summer months but not about the other holidays. I have to ask DS if they flat out said she couldn’t book or if she just could not get the 340 discount. Thanks.
-
Never heard of black out days. The day she wants to book is April 20 out of Baltimore. Now she is trying to talk me into going with her!
-
DS is currently on a ship and went to future cruise desk to book a cabin on a ship later in April. Told she cannot book a solo cabin — only a double occupancy. What?? Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks. Katherine

Thanks for all who contribute to this thread and prayers for all in need. Prayers for the victims of the chocolate factory and their families. This was on our prayer list in church today as the factory is only about 1/2 hour drive away from us. Beautiful day here and hope to get several walks in. Best wishes to all. Katherine- 105 replies

Anyone enjoying the new menu selections?
Lady Hudson replied to dleahy4444's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I am sure my sister will. Third trip in a few weeks for her. Only place to get decent food for dinner was Coastal Kitchen but that is not an option for most. -

Sister started a cruise 2 days ago. Again food is only lukewarm. She will speak with someone tonight. And I know she will fill out the post cruise survey with appropriate facts about the dining. -
Just got off Brilliance today
Lady Hudson replied to lovesthebeach2's topic in Royal Caribbean International
My opinion only — I am betting that many who are cruising now booked long before any notice of menu changes. We’ll see how it goes in the future. Our last sailing was in March and I will just say that we were very disappointed in the MDR menus. Katherine -
So I am only up to page 100 but just had to post. Thanks for such a great thread. I was on Anthem while you sailed and I think you all had more fun. Hope John is feeling better and that everyone has healed from their week of shenanigans! Best wishes and happy sailing to all. PS - John, can’t wait for your world cruise review!! Katherine
