  1. They are a little different - the one I got yesterday stated : his test is currently in place on the Celebrity Equinox and Celebrity Eclipse through August 20, and at this time there has been minimal to no impact to our guests experience onboard. Vaping will only be allowed in certain areas of the casino for casino guests, during operating hours only. Cigarettes, pipes, and cigars will still be prohibited in the casino. I replied back to them You state that there has been minimal to no effect on casino guests. I want to reiterate that vape exhaust does affect people around the vaper. Vape also leaves a residue on surfaces - what precautions are being taken to make sure that the Health and Wellbeing of all guests are being safe guarded.
  2. I wrote the Executive office on the 3rd and got an answer yesterday. I sent a response to there pat answer. It states there has been minimal impact to the guest experience. In other words people don't know we're putting their health at risk. Why even have this trial and not leave it as it was. Celebrity puts out these wonderful marketing pieces about the health of it's guests but it seems to me that this is all talk Very sorry to hear this
  3. However, with perfume, it isn't going to have long term effects on you. Vaping does have second hand effects on the other guests to breath it in. Vaping even leaves a residue on items in the vicinity. It's not just the odor.
  4. Thank you for sharing. We were on Equinox in January and we really enjoyed the CD (is his name Lewis?) Glad to hear the food was good in Tuscan Grille - hoping it stays that way until next fall! Also, hoping the lack of vaping signs means they are coming to their senses. One person got a reply that they were not going by emails received but I have to believe it couldn't hurt.
  5. You might want to check your facts. Cannibidiol (CBD) comes from the Marijuana plant. It is the second active ingredient in Marijuana. It is not THC the first active ingredient but none the less it can and does come from Marijuana as well as hemp BTW CBD is not allowed on Celebrity ships per their policy. Have no idea how they would detect it
  6. LOL that wasn't my point. Many brands have run off their loyal customers with a "new" approach. That has hit their sales. I see this as somewhat the same, let's expand our market.... not realizing it's at the expense of some of their current customers.
  7. LOL just look around, so many companies committing suicide with their business model. Everybody is trying to get new business at the expense of their loyal followers. I also think there is someone "younger" convincing them that it is self contained. Not sure how hard it would be for them (it wasn't for most of us) to do a little research as to it's safety
  8. What address did you use for Laura Hodges Bethge?
  9. Unfortunately, vaping doesn't just affect the person vaping. The reason for banning smoking is the second hand smoke. Drinking doesn't haven't a health effect on others. What is worse if you can believe what you read, there is a possibility of third hand exposure, since the oils/residue from Vape exhale can cling to objects. So your slot machine, gaming table etc, could have residue. Here is an article regarding vaping https://www.healthline.com/health/second-hand-vape
  10. That's been the case for at least a year when we started sailing X, and it's one of the reasons we chose X Edit: didn't see the pic, No vaping was not allowed. However, Vape to me doesn't permiate everything and linger like cigarettes. I do agree it's a change in the marketing strategy
  11. We are trying an IV cabin on the Ascent to see if we like it at all. I think for cooler weather cruises they would be perfect. We are on an eastern caribbean itinerary so we will see what we really think of it. That said, we got such a great AI deal that I am not going to complain one bit. When we were on the Edge in warm weather we spent a great deal of time out on the Edge bar and just around the ship so not sure if it will be that big of a deal.
  12. So everybody is upset about the thread. Thank you @CHEZMARYLOU for the heads up. Our booked cruises are AI but for those not AI - prepay them at the current rate (at least you used to be able to do that) Haha, I know I will be corrected if it isn't and maybe even if it is
  13. Even though I had linked our reservations we could not make a reservation for all of us for our January cruise. The first night we said we would all take our individual reservations. The girl at the front podium told us no to that also and was not polite in the least about it. For our next cruise I am going to see if I link our reservations and call in if we can get them all together.
  14. In January we were traveling with 2 other couples and we all made reservations for 7:30 - after 2 days of having to get a pager and wait to be seated we spoke to the maitre'd and were told basically no way they could/would honor the reservation. So IMO the reservation is worthless.
  15. I finally recieved a response - seems to be somewhat a standard response in that the regarding line had "Eclipse July 5 2020 hank you for taking the time to contact the Executive Offices at Celebrity Cruises. I am pleased to have this opportunity to respond on behalf of The Executive Team.We are currently testing a few new additions to the main dining room menu on the EQ. It’s important to note that 3 items were removed and 3 were added. The number of items on the menu remains the same. We continue to provide 14 different menus on rotation based on the length on the voyage. We continue to provide guest favorites on rotation (example, prime rib, escargot, NY strip steak . Etc...). Complementary lobster tails are still available on chic night. Our goal is to enhance your dining experience and provide you more opportunity to avail premium items every day of the cruise. We continue to offer a great variety of choices. In lieu of your inquiries on recent changes on Celebrity Equinox MDR menu changes, please refer to the answers below:1) Is there now going to be a charge for a filet, lobster and surf & turf. Answer:o We continue to provide 14 different menus on rotation based on the length on the voyage.o We continue to provide guest favorites on rotation ( example, prime rib, escargot, NY strip steak . Etc...)While these changes have been made with the positive intention of helping us improve service efficiencies, reduce waste, and keep in line with other cruise brands, we do understand your concerns regarding the impact they may have on your upcoming sailings. This is still a pilot menu, based on our guest’s feedback, this menu might, or might not be the same. We'll need to be closest to your sailing to get more information.Ms. *********, we truly value your additional input regarding the areas of service that we could improve upon. We are always challenging ourselves to perfect the onboard experience, and, with your help as our partners, we will rise to the occasion.Sincerely,Aurora GodfreyCelebrity CruisesExecutive Office305-614-1343ExecutiveOffice@celebrity.com
  16. HMMMM maybe it is dependent on the ship - Apex shows it, Equinox looks like the link and doesn't mention it.
  17. The ones I pulled up include that on the Royal Suite. One note is you also owe the increased gratuities on the RS over what you had on the veranda
  18. So just curious - Celebrity assigns your guarantee cabin right away? I know other cruiselines you can wait right up til sailing to find out.
  19. So sorry to hear that. I know some nights were slim pickins for me but I found a couple of things. 😞 Word of advice - go to Guest Services to complain. We had an issue in January which I tried to handle with the maitre'd with not much luck. When I emailed them after the fact they told me I should have brought it to GS. I'd start by asking for compensation for dinner 🙂
  20. The email address ExecutiveOffice@Celebrity.com is what got the FB poster an address. Keep inudating them with emails!
  21. Just now on the Facebook Celebrity Equinox page a member posted that they got an answer from Management on the menu changes. This was the answer: Menu change: Just got off the phone with a celebrity agent calling from executive office in replans to my email. Filet and Lobster menu charges is a “Pilot Program” on two sailing on the Celebrity Equinox. After that they will be discussing in management meetings. Let you feeling be heard, ExecutiveOffice@celebrity.com
  22. On the Apex in May we were able to order on the Sun Deck until 2:30 pm on a port day. We had went into the Retreat lounge just to get a snack and nothing was out. We were told to go upstairs to get something. It was pretty decent, took maybe 20 minutes. Little chilly eating up there since we were in Norway but we liked having it available.
  23. As others have mentioned no reservation is needed. We were Sky Suite on the Apex in May. We did not sit in the same seat - but we did have the same waitstaff for the entire cruise for all meals. We showed up to lunch and a couple we had met was there, they were very accomodating to let us sit togther. The staff in Luminae was great. The food IMO was good but not great. The selections are limited but you can ask for other items and they will try to get it for you.
