  2. I don't think that section is new. The fuel surcharges were always there if I remember correctly.
  3. I believe you are wrong on that, did a mock booking and this is the screen that appears when selecting "Retreat" - "All Included"
  4. Yes, the Retreat bar is included but NOT the beverage package that is only if you book the suite originally
  5. The Retreat lounge has a bar - when booking a suite (not upgrading to one) the beverage package is included in the fare.
  6. We received an email asking our preferences for our May cruise and we are just in a regular Sky Suite. I did ask for a few things such as the lap blankets since we are on a cold weather itinerary.
  7. We always cross pack, since we have seen others have one suitcase lost. We also make sure we have enough to survive a couple of days in our carryon which I realize wouldn't have helped the OP since he can't handle the carry on. I would worrry about things like medications etc. I wonder does X have personnel to help people in these situations? Maybe in the future that is the answer. We also were on a cruise where we kept getting notes in our room to look for a suitcase that was evidently sent to the wrong cabin. The notes appeared until the next to last night so assuming they never got their suitcase.
  8. Just curious if your confirmation has your correct address on it. I just looked at confirmations I have received and the strange thing is that they have our street address and United States but no city or state. Very strange that they have promos that are not applicable to certain states.
  9. LOL I'm just betting the IT department forgot to change the message
  10. Glad I'm not the only one who has multiple "personalities" - My hair trailed behind me the first couple of days. I was stuck on previous days Easter Eggs several days. Oh well. Took a couple of swims but was able to get out of the pool. It was interesting but IMO a failure.... unless I win a cruise LOL
  11. I'm sure you're aware that hand sanitizer has no effect on Norovirus so you are better off washing your hands anyways as it is effective for both
  12. As many have pointed out - we don't know how good the coverage is until we unfortunately have to use it. I hope we never find out LOL
  13. We went with Allianz since I had purchased through them previously for land vacations and when I missed the window on a cruise. Our policy only covers to 10K of vacation expense but has medical and medevac which is more my concern. Over the years we have seen people break bones at resorts and have to have surgery in and island hospital, seen an aquaintance put off for medical on an island, and had a friend fall just barely miss being sent to a hospital in a port in Italy. We got the wake up call to have the medical and evac policy.
  14. Thank you so much @Norwaylady what I am seeing I think we may have to go back. We are doing Haugesand, Geiranger, Flam & Bergen. Wanted to do Flam since my Grandfather's Grandparents are from the Sjognefjord area. You have made me more excited than I already was!! Thanks again
  15. We are doing the Norwegian Fjords in May so loved this tease (even though we won't get that far north for some of it)
  16. You have to register with the Wonderverse separate from Celebrity. It runs on it's own
  17. I never got in but did get the Survey, and told them extremely disatisfied, wasting time
  18. One additional item is that you have to pay the higher gratuity rate for Suites also. Here is a link to the Move Up FAQs https://www.celebritycruises.com/bid-on-cruise-room-upgrade/celebrity-moveup-faqs
  19. The policy we took out for $1100 for both of us covers up to $10K of costs. Our upcoming trip with airfare is costing more than that, however I know the cruise lines and airlines are good about working with passengers but that anything over that is at risk. That said, it also covered completely our January cruise and any other travel more than 90 miles away from home. Had I taken insurance just for our upcoming cruise it was $980 and not nearly the medical coverage we have on our annual policy. For us it's about limiting the "unknown" costs that can occur vs what we have spent already. Although it would be unpleasant, we can "afford" to lose what we have already paid out. It would start to affect our lifestyle to have to pay out $100K or more in addition to the cost of the trip.
  20. And we wonder where the Norovirus comes from πŸ™‚
  21. Check your supplement, ours thru United Health covers us however I think it is just a reimbursement. We picked up an annual policy
  22. We buy the Annual Policy even though could possibly only cover a percentage of the cruise cost. For us that money is already spent and not our major concern but everyone is different. That said we don't go away for more than a couple of weeks at a time πŸ™‚
  23. That could be. Until you've had something happen with someone you know I don't think you totally realize how bad it could be. We had a friend who fell in Florence going up a high curb (1 ft) and hit his head and hand. Ambulance didn't come so went with the tour back to the ship. They wanted him off but didn't have enough time to get him off. It's crazy scary. We have also known someone put off in the Caribbean due to a medical issue. Another problem with the situation, is that they weren't married. Many countries are like the US that unless you have a POA of some sort you can't make decisions for them.
  24. Some Medigap policies cover - ours does after the first $250 but it's reimbursement so we have an annual policy.
  25. I know there have been quite a few threads about trip insurance. A story surfaced today about a 78 year old man with his 80 year old GF on an Oceania cruise. He got Covid was put in medical but when he got worse they were both put off in Dominica. The family is now having to make arrangements to get them home. Per the cruiselines contracts, they aren't responsible for you or to get you home. That is the reason to have insurance. The daughter is saying the transport home is costing more than their trip..... Duh no kidding Here is the link to the story : https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/couple-left-on-island-of-dominica-when-man-78-gets-covid-on-caribbean-cruise/3296782/#:~:text=Family members say the cruise ship dropped off,Riviera after testing positive%2C but his condition worsened.
