  1. On Cruisemapper Equinox is shown as no sailings April 23 to May 16 2024 . It orginally was shown for a refurb, but I had read that was scrapped. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they will at least do a few things.
  2. I am sooooo hoping that when the Equinox goes into drydock they take care of the remaining cabins that got missed when it was being "revolutionized" and fix the rust etc in the other areas. We are booked for November 2024. If reports are still bad may have to let our deposit go.
  3. Our last cruise - in our Cruise Booklet that is a part of the documents it states two per guest. I have heard they may be changing it back. I would check your Cruise Bookelet
  4. If you are concerned about the wine, why not carry on 2 bottles each. No corkage since you have the package and you don't have to worry about what they actually have in stock. Just a suggestion.
  5. I agree with the comparison with Princess, especially the buffet. On the Grand last summer in Alaska the buffet was very limited. Tried the soup (vegetable) and it was a poor imitation of Campbell's. How hard is soup ?? LOL We were in Retreat last X sailing on the Apex, and I was not impressed with the choices. Good news was on the last 5 cruises I have gained no more than 4 lbs 🙂 and that I am sure was from the martinis
  6. Please check the link provided instead of rehashing it here. There is lots of information there.
  7. When was your last cruise on X? I felt this way about our Equinox cruise in January and last month, which was Retreat on the Apex. IMO what they do is feed you "lesser" proteins the first several days and bring out the somewhat good stuff at the end, assuming you'll forget 🙂
  8. I just emailed Executive Office asking about this - if filet and lobster will be served at no charge on one night. If this is just an additional offer, kind of equating to what you can do in Luminae (at no charge) I don't think I would mind it. I do mind not having the classic shrimp cocktail and the option for Salmon taken away since they are my go tos when nothing else sounds good
  9. I just emailed to ExecutiveOffice@celebrity.com, which is the address I got a response from when emailing Lisa earlier in the year. I'll let you know if I get a response.
  10. Thank you I learned something new! Love CC. It appears this is only for the Equinox, haven't checked them all but not on Silouette and not on the E class. But Prime Rib is back - they didn't have it in January on Equinox. Leads me to believe this is a "trial" - if it were good filet it might be worth it rather than a whole group having to go to the Steakhouse - mixed feelings here
  11. how can you see on the app if you aren't booked on the cruise?
  12. Someone needs to share the new President's email and the box can be inudated with protests 🙂
  13. LOL not sure the suite is going to matter. We were in a sky suite on the Apex and to tell you the truth I was not impressed. I figure for the difference in the price I could eat in the specialties every night. I will say I was able to ask for a filet the night there was nothing appealing to me on the regular menu.
  14. Now wondering if he took the flight - what a situation to be in. Sounds like it is a long cruise so probably worth the extra money to get there and the fine if applicable. At least he saved some $$ not buying the insurance (have to find a little silver lining)
  15. Agree with the above posters. First that it may not be a "rain" out - your ports could possibly change if it is severe weather, they won't put you in harm's way. On the Equinox there are a lot of indoor spaces such as the Sky lounge and the Solarium etc. It's always a good day on a cruise ship
  16. Maybe it's a UK thing but as stated by 1Virgo above I picked my flights and had all of the information immediately. We flew Delta in the US to AMS in Comfort Plus so not sure if that had anything to do with it. I would be nervous if I didn't have that info.
  17. Never mind... I see they are updated on Tuesdays. Too late to delete. So how did you get to these "Exciting Deals" . I assume there is an update weekly or so since many of these cruises are past.
  18. First when are you sailing. If your documents are all available look at your Cruise Booklet on the website. I am in the habit now of printing everything Celebrity sends or is on the website to a PDF file. This is from my Cruise Booklet for our January cruise.
  19. I don't know what year this was but now days I don't think a suitcase gets loaded on without the passenger on the same flight unless the airline is "catching" it up with the passenger. We have been on a flight where a passenger didn't show up and they held the plane to take off their luggage.
  20. IMO the "new" Princess is following Celebrity good or bad. For us I liked the refundable deposit but it rightly or wrongly allowed many of us to put out 'Placeholders" we could change our minds. In the meantime that cabin was taken. We ended up taking all of our cruises that we placed deposits on but I know some who did not. So now you have to have skin in the game. Even though I'm not really a fan I think this is a good thing. I am not sure totally of the non refundable rules if you can move it or incur a slight penalty. Many ways to look at this
  21. Okay everyone don't panic. I think the drawings and new releases make it look more "in your face" than it will be. Here is a Youtube video from a reveal yesterday. I was happy to see it isn't as huge as all that. https://salessupport.princess.com/2023-0615-VE-NEWSHIPS-Registration-Closed
  22. On Facebook saw some comments on the new recreational area on the new Sun Princess. I caught this video yesterday and I think it gives a better perspective of the area. IMO it's not going to be as "in your face" as I originally thought. https://salessupport.princess.com/2023-0615-VE-NEWSHIPS-Registration-Closed
  23. We went last July - Alaska weather can be iffy. It was a lot wetter and colder than I expected. I had a pair of Columbia water proof hiking shoes (kinda sneaker like) They kept my feet dry which kept me warm enough. I also wore them in May in Norway where it rained also. You may very well not need them, last year it was sunny and warm the week before us but June July are the rainy season.
  24. Just remember when bidding you don’t get the extras like the premium drinks and have to pay the extra gratuities.
