Nowt up with that , love them myself ,The best ones was when I was a young -un and used to go to places like Grimsby docks with my dad in his lorry . Back then they had loads of trawlers and the guys would fillet them and wrap in newspaper . We used to get home and cook our own fish and make our own chips . Heaven 😋

Maybe going back to the days of the football stands when that's what most of us did but I think they were called terraces back then ? We do have a band stand in our park but most brass bands would be sat down in there as well🤔 I dunno ...Off to check my standing orders 🙃🥴🙂

Everything is going up, a mid week shop what would have cost us around £40 is more like £60 + these days . Even at the garage the air -line that took.20p ,now only takes a £1 coin or a swipe of your debit/credit card 😮 Now that's what I call real inflation🙃

The Aeropark is a plane viewing area and old aircraft display run by enthusiasts when open. If you do a dummy booking you will see all the parking options at EMA. Not a good place to park if your sailing out of Southampton as you still have 165 miles to get down there . 😮 Would be hell of a taxi fare !! PS Penguin parking on Iona 12 Aug still have parking places ,they come with bus transfer to and from ship . (Took a guess at dates )

So pleased for you and the Granddaughter Jane. After she's drove for a year get her to record her mileage. Say she only drives 4k a year then insure for 5k . Since we retired our mileage dropped so we adjusted ours bring the price down further. Happy motoring you two 🙂

Yes that's a good idea ,that works .Years ago when wife did not drive but insuring her to do so brought my own insurance down .That was done on the advice of the insurer . Another way is to make sure they or anyone insure the car at market value and not the price they first bought it at . I was amazed how many of my own friends were insuring their old faithful at the price they bought it at ,years down the road .

Unfortunately , if say your son/daughter wanted to drive their own car ,you cannot do this as it is called fronting and is illegal in the UK. Running around in their own car on Mum Dads insurance could lead to problems .

I'm that good at sleeping I can do it with my eyes closed 🙃

That reminds me of a few years ago when Mrs K and me also decided to watch the pretty light show from our back door , just stood inside sheltering us from the rain .We stood in awe at the lightening show , that was until a bolt of lightening hit the grass up the top of our garden . We both went "Wow " and then made our way back in the house as we could hardly catch our breath. It was like all the oxygen had been taken out of the air . After a a minute we were both fine and thought no more about it. That was until we tried going online, only to discover the storm had taken out our modem ,which we had just installed earlier that day. Everything else was working fine .

We had a thunderstorm yesterday morning but last night we got two for the price of one . I was watching them pass on a storm radar . The fist one headed off more towards Doncaster /Barnsley ,heading for Leeds . The second one took a similar track but the rain was really heavy .it was battering our windows and front door, making a right racket . Watching the strikes around Cudworth and Penistone ,I said to the Mrs "I bet Avril and Phil will be getting a right show . If I did not know better I would have thought someone had put a jet wash to our doors and windows . One person not to far away from us had their car struck with lightening , causing it to burst into flames , I bet the emergency services were kept busy last night .

Have you ever tried pushing a mower with a mug of tea in one hand and a plate of toast in other ? 🤣 I was more than willing to supervise ,should the need arise .🙃 One has to be sensible in those situations 🤣

Hope your Mum enjoys her birthday treat and having family around her . How times have changed over the years ,buying in sarnies from M&S🙂 I remember our parties from years gone by . Me Mam would get a couple of Mothers pride thin sliced and buy wonderous things like potted meat and a cheese spread ,a jar of pickled onions and a big jug of Kia Ora dilute pop . A pot of tea and a bit of instant coffee and that was about it .🙃 I'm sure your function will be a lot better , have a good day 🙃

Morning the temperature was 26.c this morning but has fallen to 23.c as the thunderstorms have now paid us a visit . A noisy one too ,which I suppose will be upsetting some folk and their pets . The rain is heavy ,so glad we cut the grass yesterday. Have a good day everyone .

Good afternoon the temperatures now 25.c + so staying in the shade watching tennis . Talking of food , someone on here, sometime back has been giving out advice that simply is not true , so I thought to best warn others about this . 😡 To give out such false information is completely out of order and should not be allowed . Sometime back I was advised ,home grown strawberries are the best and if you want them to be tastier and more juicy to put horse manure on them . It does nothing to improve the taste at all ! I personally will be going back to double cream and ice cream in future !!! Enjoy 🙃

There are some wonderful ,kind ,caring and considerate people in this world ! My wife being one of them 🙂 Whilst I sit reading posts on here ,she has made me tea & toast . Then she said " I'm going in the garden ,to tidy up the flowers .See you in an hour and we can have another cuppa." I told her what a wonderful woman she is but as I hadn't finished this cuppa yet ,I will give her a shout when I'm ready for the next one .🙃😉🤣

In the days before we took up cruising ,we had a coach company that used to do a New Year cruise on Brittany ferries . They used to book the whole ship Bretagne. The weather was absolutely freezing but we enjoyed the town centres shops and cafes. What stood out the most was the impressive cathedral, inside is amazing and we were lucky as when we went in the choir were singing "Oh Holy Night " which was magical. If we were to return the cathedral would be on our to do list any time of the year.
