That reminds me of a few years ago when Mrs K and me also decided to watch the pretty light show from our back door , just stood inside sheltering us from the rain .We stood in awe at the lightening show , that was until a bolt of lightening hit the grass up the top of our garden . We both went "Wow " and then made our way back in the house as we could hardly catch our breath. It was like all the oxygen had been taken out of the air . After a a minute we were both fine and thought no more about it. That was until we tried going online, only to discover the storm had taken out our modem ,which we had just installed earlier that day. Everything else was working fine .

We had a thunderstorm yesterday morning but last night we got two for the price of one . I was watching them pass on a storm radar . The fist one headed off more towards Doncaster /Barnsley ,heading for Leeds . The second one took a similar track but the rain was really heavy .it was battering our windows and front door, making a right racket . Watching the strikes around Cudworth and Penistone ,I said to the Mrs "I bet Avril and Phil will be getting a right show . If I did not know better I would have thought someone had put a jet wash to our doors and windows . One person not to far away from us had their car struck with lightening , causing it to burst into flames , I bet the emergency services were kept busy last night .

Have you ever tried pushing a mower with a mug of tea in one hand and a plate of toast in other ? 🤣 I was more than willing to supervise ,should the need arise .🙃 One has to be sensible in those situations 🤣

Hope your Mum enjoys her birthday treat and having family around her . How times have changed over the years ,buying in sarnies from M&S🙂 I remember our parties from years gone by . Me Mam would get a couple of Mothers pride thin sliced and buy wonderous things like potted meat and a cheese spread ,a jar of pickled onions and a big jug of Kia Ora dilute pop . A pot of tea and a bit of instant coffee and that was about it .🙃 I'm sure your function will be a lot better , have a good day 🙃

Morning the temperature was 26.c this morning but has fallen to 23.c as the thunderstorms have now paid us a visit . A noisy one too ,which I suppose will be upsetting some folk and their pets . The rain is heavy ,so glad we cut the grass yesterday. Have a good day everyone .

Good afternoon the temperatures now 25.c + so staying in the shade watching tennis . Talking of food , someone on here, sometime back has been giving out advice that simply is not true , so I thought to best warn others about this . 😡 To give out such false information is completely out of order and should not be allowed . Sometime back I was advised ,home grown strawberries are the best and if you want them to be tastier and more juicy to put horse manure on them . It does nothing to improve the taste at all ! I personally will be going back to double cream and ice cream in future !!! Enjoy 🙃

There are some wonderful ,kind ,caring and considerate people in this world ! My wife being one of them 🙂 Whilst I sit reading posts on here ,she has made me tea & toast . Then she said " I'm going in the garden ,to tidy up the flowers .See you in an hour and we can have another cuppa." I told her what a wonderful woman she is but as I hadn't finished this cuppa yet ,I will give her a shout when I'm ready for the next one .🙃😉🤣

In the days before we took up cruising ,we had a coach company that used to do a New Year cruise on Brittany ferries . They used to book the whole ship Bretagne. The weather was absolutely freezing but we enjoyed the town centres shops and cafes. What stood out the most was the impressive cathedral, inside is amazing and we were lucky as when we went in the choir were singing "Oh Holy Night " which was magical. If we were to return the cathedral would be on our to do list any time of the year.

Funny how alcohol makes people want to lie down . I used to love a good drinking session on a night out . I remember our neighbour started cutting the lawn as I tried to sleep it off the very next morning ....... I totally ignored him and let him cut the lawn around me .

I read it as "we know P&O will never be a Celebrity cruise but for what they pay with P&O they are happy to cruise with them .

Just did a dummy booking 13 Jan £132 normal. Honors discount £125 with breakfast thrown in . But you have to sign up for that . That's at Hampton by Hilton Bristol Airport but cannot see the cheaper on comparison sites like booking dot etc . Some good deals around if you book direct like Best western are giving free breakfasts for room only price at the moment .

strange ! They usually have a headline price that Booking.com would quote and at the side a members price which should be cheaper . Providing your sorted and happy all's ok .🙂

Was that price by a comparison site Sue ? Using them direct and signing up as a member (costs nowt) gives you cheaper prices .

They were one of the only insurers willing to take me on with my heart condition . Most did not want to know or wanted a kings ransom to cover us .

Prices are going up all over the place. My car insurance renewal has jumped a fair chunk this year but on looking around I am still better off by £80 by staying put with my insurance. On the bigger scheme of things ,I suppose we are lucky to find things like this and cruises still affordable to us .🙂

Due to operational reasons ,sorry to inform you that the plume has now been diverted to Casablanca .Whilst some may be disappointed a survey done by P&O found that 99,9% were more than happy with this arrangement,🙃 Thankyou for your understanding and hope you enjoy your wet and miserable day 😉🙂
