  1. Of course that's true. It's nice to have the choices! ~Nancy
  2. @Flyinby Update! When I used Chrome, I saw the booking forms in English. In Microsoft Edge the same website changes the booking forms to Norwegian! Go figure? Thank you for the tip. Anyway, I have my booking for June 2024 (a loong wait) but now need to call because I don't want to be in the cabin location I was assigned automatically. The only way to change cabins is to call them in Norway between midnight and 8am Pacific time. ~Nancy
  3. @Flyinby Excellent suggestions. Tussen takk!! Bon Voyage!🌍 ~Nancy
  4. Halfacts.com has lots of pictures of individual cabins also. ~Nancy
  5. Please check all the responses on the other thread the OP has started on this same subject. ~Nancy
  6. This may be a problem for me but I'm waiting to see how things shake out before I make any decisions one way or the other. ~Nancy
  7. Ha ha! You are quite the optimist!! It will be so wonderful if you see the Aurora. I have never seen them.....yet.... but for sure won't on my trip in June! I hope you are still watching this thread now as I have a question. I tried to book online yesterday and the website that was supposed to be in English was in Norwegian when it got to the booking forms to fill in. I am fine translating the first parts but when it gets to the more detailed payment and optional excursions, I wasn't able to easily translate. I didn't want to sign up for something I am not absolutely sure of. My email to Havila has not been answered. Which website did you use to book? I was trying on Havila homepage - Havila Voyages Thanks, ~Nancy
  8. @Flyinbywhen does your trip begin? You mentioned February! Which ship will you be on? I guess I'm just a bit excited to have a fellow Californian trying out Havila too!! Have a wonderful time! ~Nancy
  9. Thanks @laura1960for the review. I like the size of Noordam and her sister ships too. As far as food temperature, I had the same experience on Rotterdam last fall. Food in the Lido was barely above room temperature many times and rarely HOT! I commented on it in my post cruise survey. One of the World Cruise bloggers on Zuiderdam now has mentioned the lack of HOT food. I also don't remember that ever being a problem pre Covid. I can't imagine what the problem is on board to not serve consistently hot food when they did in the past. Anyone have any knowledge about this? ~Nancy
  10. The picture of your diver's breakfast reminded me of the room service breakfast fruit plates last fall on the Nieuw Amsterdam and Rotterdam. It cracked me up every time I got a lonely 1/2 blueberry!! I miss the olden days of bowls of mixed berries!! 😏 I almost went and got my scuba certificate many years ago but didn't because at the time I couldn't afford to go to places with warm water to dive. The coast of Northern California is too darn cold!! I wish I had taken the classes back then. Same with getting a pilot license. ~Nancy
  11. Yes, you can order from the main dining room during its regular opening hours. You call the room service phone and place your order after the restaurant opens. It's for any cabin category! It's available on all ships. Have a great trip! ~Nancy
  12. I believe that all the new restaurants on board this new cruise line will have new menus. ~Nancy
  13. The bag option allows your choice of folded or on hangers with a garment bag. If you choose hangers, your underwear and socks will still be folded!! 😁 ~Nancy
  14. @Desert Cruiser 75you are wise to do your research on the different experiences each line offers solos. Everyone is so different in what they enjoy and their style of socializing! For me, as a solo, NCL sounds horrible because I don't enjoy doing group activities and dining with strangers particularly. I like to meet people around the ship/bars/excursions and if we seem to get along, then meet for dinner or other activities. I enjoy eating by myself too. The solo cabins look like a step up from my cramped college dorm room although it had a window to the outdoors! Others seem to love them. 🤷‍♀️ Choice is good!! ~Nancy
  15. I asked on another thread but no response yet......because of the new ship size limits imposed by Bora Bora recently does the Serenity or even Symphony meet the criteria to anchor there? ~Nancy
  16. @Charlene1985Thanks so much for the update on cruise credits! Best wishes to you on the tornado damage. I guess you could find some faster growing trees that are suitable for your area and plant those. I know, it's not the same but may be therapeutic! ~Nancy
  17. @skybluewatersThank you for responding. I was reading the other thread with this definition while you were typing your response!!! There's so much activity now that it's hard to read fast enough! As Roland4 said, I'm glad it's not a "Resort Fee". Those are just absolutely ridiculous and annoying! ~Nancy
  18. So what does the "destination fee" represent separate from the cruise fare, taxes and port fees? ~Nancy
  19. I could swear that I answered your question last night on a live from thread but I can't find it now!?? I told you to look on the Ports of Call forums for Northern Europe for Amsterdam info. Look at TripAdvisor and other online travel sites for Amsterdam suggestions. Your Roll Call should have suggestions too. You really, really should ask a travel agent to help you since you seem to be very unsure what to book. If there are only two verandah rooms left, then book some other type of cabin or ask HAL to get waitlisted for a veranda cabin cancellation. I just don't understand exactly what you want to know about booking? Cruise Critic can't book for you. Maybe you can restate your question and be more specific. Thanks, ~Nancy
  20. And the funny thing is that my Halibut in the Pinnacle Grill in October (Nieuw Amsterdam) was the best meal I had that entire cruise! (Amongst many other very good meals on board) So, I agree with @colin v. Everyone just go and see for yourselves! ~Nancy
  21. @TER777 Maybe Jack thinks since you have so few previous Crystal Cruises you wouldn't be interested?? 😉 ~Nancy
  22. I love hearing about the energy and enthusiasm on board. This cruise sounds really fun based on all the wonderful reports/blogs I have been reading! Thanks again for sharing the cruise with us, ~Nancy
  23. On the OP's cruise in July the furthest city north will be Skagway. Sunset on July 15-16 will be about 10pm so the Midnight sun won't be seen. The best place in Alaska to see it is much further north in Fairbanks. There will be a nice long day of daylight though! Sunrise and sunset times in Skagway, July 2023 (timeanddate.com) Your Alaska cruise will be wonderful. Relax and enjoy! ~Nancy
  24. I do to. You can get it in the reef safe formula.
  25. @BEAV Haha! "But it's a warm rain" !!!! ~Nancy
