Have a great trip, will be following with interest. We are doing a side by side in September/ October 2024 12nts Accent then 7nts Yacht club on Seaview, Celebrity Accent will be our 34th Celebrity cruise but the Seaview will be our first MSC.

We stayed in you me design place hotel a modern 4 star was easy to find and 10 mins from the ship, Nice breakfast but our room was noisy from the street, we had the window open a wee bit because the room was very hot! ( They tend to knock the air conditioning off in November) but it was 24degrees in the room and the window had been taped shut so we had to get them to take the tape off and it seems the window was broken and wouldn’t shut lol.There was a beautiful building near by that was an Hilton at doubletree think I would have a look at that if we return.

Haven’t actually tried that journey.But the bus is worth pricing.We only stayed one night in Trieste it was a lovely place with beautiful architecture and plenty of options for food and drinks.I would stay there again, The train was booked on train line AP and was just under £20 for both of us.Was about an hour and a half to Mestre.We have been to Venice lots and have stayed in the Mestre district 4 times it’s a short trip to the airport by taxi or bus.I would price the bus direct from Marco Polo if I was you! There’s a good train sevicefrom Venice Mestre station to Trieste Central then just a 15 minute walk along the front to the ship, I booked the train through train line and it was very comfortable and inexpensive.

It’s not easy, but I do like to do our own trips so flight hotels and cruise all separate while able but we have been caught out a couple of times, the flights are the problem I always find!

We will be in the Med around then on Celebrity,B2B love a Med cruise in June😊

Yes we were flying from Manchester, the train from Trieste is around 2hrs if on time ours to Venice was about 20 mins late so a bit of a gamble for a lunch time flight! Even by car it would be a good hour or two depending on traffic.When do you cruise?

Yea we usually stay before the cruise and fly straight home! If you can get off in the first bunch as soon as possible, and have a taxi waiting maybe it will work, We thought we wouldn’t rush off so waited to 8am to get off but so did a lot of other guys😂Enjoy your cruise!

Hi, we left the Dawn yesterday in Trieste fortunately we were staying in the region and Venice for 3 days post cruise.We have never experienced the like of slow disembarking, and it took us 95 mins to get off we were stuck in a corridor on deck 4 with hundreds of others, people were complaining of the lack of air and not pleasant at all.We we’re self embarking so didn’t have to pick our luggage up at the terminal but that looked badly organised.Dianne

That’s good to know because I thought of putting $500 on the account then saw on NCL website it was $450 per person! Wouldn’t want to be travelling with a thousand dollars plus other currencies.

Hi Guys, does anyone know if you can go to guest relations at the start of the cruise and put cash on your account? I have quite a lot of USD and thought to take them on my cruise and deposit them to the account it would keep my bill down a bit.

Do you get bottle water in the Yacht club restaurant included or is there a cost?

This is true, my favourite TA is in the states and I use her for all my Celebrity bookings but when I asked her to price a Yacht club stateroom, she said she doesn’t deal with MSC said too many complaints! So I booked a Celebrity cruise with her and then booked the MSC cruise with my UK agent.

Some goodwill! As I said my insurance said NCL should have made up for the out of pocket expense we all suffered due to them deciding to redeploy a ship. I even tried ABTA but they are very slow to respond, so I got something back for the first flights but the Lisbon flights which were expensive I have just given up on.

In the Uk most flights especially the ones from the north are non refundable, I always have insurance but the insurance would not help because they said the cruise line was at fault and I agree with this. Hotels etc. I always book refundable rates thank goodness or I would of lost 4 nights in hotels as well.That chase card I don’t think is available over here unfortunately.

Ok I eventually received £142 back from the British Airways flight after over 5 months the £160 from TAP I have just put down as a loss. But it still annoys me that they can decide to cancel a cruise and we are left to pick up the loss of air fares etc.

Don’t think you were alone lol, years ago when we cruised with the 3 kids ( under 9 year olds)we cruised from the Uk and had similar loyalty events the kid adored the nibbles they nicknamed the waiters who used to serve them as weeny boys and the snacks were Weenies😂

Yea I remember those nibbles,Hubby would say no thanks it will spoil our dinner! But I always grabbed a couple especially the ones with the cheese lol

We got a discount on booking yacht club for seniors think 10% this is the Uk and only booked a few days ago.No mention of the champagne etc. But happy with the senior discount as wasn’t aware of it.

We had a similar experience on our last cruises, the guy at reception showed a photo of the staff member we wanted to give to, but never found out if he got it.Hopefully he did but on our second part of the b2b we gave out the extras with cash, so we knew the staff we wanted to tip extra received it.

Booked a b2b on Equinox in the med for next June have been on all Solstice class many times and the price was reasonable. Just last week I booked a 12 night med cruise on Ascent for September it will be a first on this class, it was quite a bit more expensive but excited to try the new ship! We will follow that cruise with a 7 night on MSC yacht club which board same day as we get off the Ascent, again a first time experience.Im sure we will have a great time on all 3 ships.But have a soft spot for Solstice ships and Equinox along with Reflection are favourites.Whatever ship you choose I’m sure you will enjoy I think the Mediterranean is the most beautiful cruise itinerary.Also Ascent visits Sardinia which is the only port we haven’t visited in that area.
