  1. Payroll dispute would be handled by the corporate office, not by the ship finance department.
  2. This webinar would NEVER take place. Royal Caribbean does not want you to have answers to any of these questions
  3. Finance officer on board have absolutely ZERO say on the way the auto-gratuities are dispersed
  4. But they can't work on ships embarking form US ports without a US Visa
  5. Absolutley 100% possible. I hadn't thought of it in that regard. However back to the original point, are these officers going to divulge the information at the Captains Call Q&A?
  6. Honestly, I doubt it. I don’t know, but I doubt it; these types of financial wrangling and decisions are made well up the ladder.
  7. The Captain and officers have no idea what RCG is doing with the auto gratuities.
  8. Silly argument. Taxes and port fees are clearly documented as to where they go, not like the mysterious auto gratuity scam
  9. I am well aware, I have been doing it this way for many years.
  10. Urban Myth Cash goes into a pocket, and is never spoken of again
  11. Day one is kinda crazy all around, for guest services and for me. Morning of day 2 is the most efficient time I have found to handle it.
  12. I believe the price posted on Australian sailings have the gratuity built in.
  13. We disembarked Allure 2 weeks ago. We thought it was the smoothest departure we have ever experienced. We were driving and were on the road by 7:45. Friends of ours had a car service taking them to Hobby; their driver was near the terminal exit, holding a sign with their names.
  14. I don’t know what you did, but you quoted me in a post that is not mine. Please edit your post
  15. I never said I have the answers, I’m telling you I don’t. Neither do you, stop acting like you do. Stop claiming to have done research, for which there are no resources. Unless you are employed in HR or payroll and finance at Royal Caribbean, all you have are opinions and suppositions.
  16. FAR too many assumptions and missing data here to make this the least bit reliable. Randomly filling in missing data points with here-say and hyperbole and then claiming the outcome is somehow accurate.
  17. saying, you would not cruise a particular line for a decade if you remove the tips is indeed paranoid
  18. No one ever said about not getting paid a penny, you can’t revise your post now. Your statement claimed detriment with one’s supervisors. Supervisors that are fully aware that a percentage of people remove the gratuity regardless-why would there be repercussions for that? There aren’t
  19. I don’t have any figures and neither do you; you have fuzzy math that you have derived from even fuzzier public facing documentation provided from the cruise lines, and supposedly some crew (crew that has a vested interest in promoting a POV, and would never be considered a source of indiscriminate information)
  20. Removal of the auto gratuity results in no detriment to the crew member
