  1. This happens a lot, and. no one at Royal can explain why. You have to just call to book things together sometimes.
  2. To be fair, Royal seemed to have no interest in upgrading the tech and POS when they were flush with cash either
  3. Good luck walking onto a public pier in this country without your union card in hand. Kinda like showing up to drive the trash truck in NYC without having your Teamsters paperwork up to snuff.
  4. EXCELLENT question. Myself, personally, do.not tip them, unless they do something above and beyond their job description. Getting my bag from the sidewalk to the ship is quite literally their job description
  5. I agree with your premise, however, that is easier said than done. How can you manage people that don’t work for or report to you?
  6. However the Porters are not paid rubbish wages, they are paid well above a "living wage" and often receive VERY generous union benefits.
  7. The porters and the cruise lines have no connection or formal relationship (much like many of the people you interact with at the terminal)
  8. $0 per bag, have never had a bag not show in my room
  9. renewing is the easiest process, especially with the new online renewal portal
  10. Great thing about the RFID technology is the card never needs removed from the sleeve
  11. Allure does not use RFID cards, hence hole punching is not an issue.
  12. I don’t think anyone considers the foil cutter on a corkscrew to meet the definition of “knife”. Royal Caribbean certainly does not
  13. Only 37% of Americans have a passport; that is a fact as published by the US State Department
  14. As far as I am concerned it is still considered part of the minimum service for the stateroom
  15. Just for the sake of a funny story, I can take it one step further. The wife and I have a friend who inherited diamond plus status from her second husband. She went on one cruise and then got a divorce. (Another funny story for another day.) She is now a 14 point diamond plus who shares her ex-husband’s status with her new husband and he has never been on a cruise but will be diamond plus on his first cruise with us in February Herein lies one of the problems with the structure of the status sharing within the program
  16. I can tell you the daisychain effect is in full force, from personal experience with sons-in-law
