  1. Maybe Firenze will do the summer season before going to Long Beach?
  2. We are on the June 17th cruise, don't know if that is the same one as @dcmombut our reservations are lost as well.
  3. Thank-you @niniLooking at my post I realized I said you couldn't use the balcony unless you were at sea, I meant in port, due to wind. Did you like the cabin?
  4. This is great @bagneyIt is for an Antartica cruise so I wanted views but I didn't want to pay balcony prices. Front of the ship high up may be rocky but I can get a seasick patch to be on the safe side. Thank-you.
  5. Hi, I think the top picture is a generic OV and the bottom either C101 or C103. There are about five of these that are classified OV because the balcony isn't useable unless you're at sea. One of the bottom pictures shows a barrel chair so thinking that these are old pics that were uploaded last year.
  6. Hello, I've booked C101 and C103 for a cruise and wondering if anyone has any current pictures, video, or comments??? These cabins are classified oceanview, but are actually balconies. I did a search and the threads are over 10 years old. TIA.
  7. I like interiors so either would be fine for me as far as the cabin itself, but deck eight is closer to things. We were on nine last summer and loved the location.
  8. I’m hoping for some Hawaii cruises.
  9. Second the Panorama recommendation. Their family OV are really nice and there is a bath and a half and with a deep junior tub.
  10. I was on the Sun last September and absolutely loved the ship. Very clean, well kept, and service was amazing. There are a lot of places to sit and people or scenery watch, and not a lot of hustle and bustle. I would sail on her again in a heartbeat and am beyond envy for those doing the TA, it looks like a great itinerary. On our cruise entertainment was good, as they brought in one of their current comedians...I saw her on the Bliss in January 2022, and there was an excellent tribute to Frank Sinatra which I saw twice. Loved the Great Outdoors and the buffet had plenty of choices. We were on Harmony of the Seas last month, Star Class, and while I enjoyed that experience immensly the Sun cruise, inside cabin, was not a lesser cruise by any means. BTW, some great inside cabins on the Sun. I was assigned 1024 which had the bed and closet area, and then there was a full couch with more closets facing it. Bathroom was small and hair dryer reminded me of what it was like when we first started cruising. Also...little key card holder as you come in the room, an artifact for sure.
  11. I am not seeing the pictures either, thought it was just me.
  12. One thing I like about the Panorama dinner buffet is that they have fried oysters the night they're served in the mdr. I dearly love fried oysters so go to Lido after mdr to for a second, third, fourth...helping. Yes, I know I could get extra in the mdr but I enjoy getting the exact amount I want. Really, the Lido on Panorama is great. At lunch in July they had a mediterranean section w/ flatbreads, hummus, sun dried tomatoes, pesto, fresh cheeses...really yummy.
  13. We cruised with 32 year old autistic DS on Panorama last July and I'll echo what you said...CCL staff is amazing with the autistic population. I really want to take DS on Celebration as he dearly loved Barnum and Bailey circus when it came around each year. If we cruised at an off time perhaps we'd have better luck w/ getting good seats. Thank-you for sharing, it is so helpful in planning. We have a Princess cruise booked in June and I haven't been able to find any first person accounts so very nervous about embarkation, debarkation, and table in the mdr.
  14. This. Our first cruise was a 4 day out of LA, old Carnival ship. We had a good time as we had extended family along but it wasn't something I thought I ever needed to do again. I did want to take our son on a Disney cruise though, and in those days you had to fly to Florida, so we went with the 7 day Magic. Blew me away and since that cruise it is rare that we don't have at least one booked. Granted the Disney Magic was and is a beautiful ship, but I think we'd have had the same reaction had we sailed a 7 day on any newer ship. My SIL was talking about trying a cruise, just a 3 or 4 day to see if she'd like it and I told her a 3 or 4 day is not going to give a true picture. Will it be fun, yes, but a different fun.
  15. For years we used Southwest credit cards and flew exclusively with them. I liked their service, with points I was generally able to buy about six rt tickets to Florida from Sacramento and it worked well for our family. Fast forward to Covid and their lousy handling of autistic passengers and masking and I stopped using my card. DH still had a lot of miles on his so we used those up and as of two weeks ago I canceled both cards. I still have one flight booked on points for February but really wondering if I should cancel as I'm flying to LGB day of cruise. I feel terrible for all those who were stranded and missed their holidays.
  16. Yay!!! So happy for you. Your WDW and Pop pictures are making me miss WDW. For six or seven years we went to WDW every September, then DS decided he didn't like it any longer. DH and I would really like to go back but when I pulled up rates for October 23 Pop was approximately $250/night. Crazy, if I recall we used to pay about $110/night. Of course that was back in 2007-2013. We get a military discount so will keep checking, but will not go back until/if the dining plan is reinstated.
  17. I don’t think you’ll ever forget this trip. Fingers crossed for you.
  18. Following, loved the last one. SW…it’s happened to us in 2019. On the road from AK to MCO at 5am and all flights cancelled. Can I say super happy for MCO Hyatt?
  19. The Queen Mary hotel might be re-opened by May, I've read that it is opening tomorrow for tours. Decor very dated but if you're a Poseidon Adventure fan you'll recognize several of the public areas. You really can't get any more convenient. We stayed there for our 12/19 Panorama cruise and it was great to walk across the parking lot to the terminal the morning of the cruise. As alternatives there are two other hotels on that side, Hotel Maya and Residence Inn. Both are on a walkway that leads straight to the Queen Mary, then the terminal. Since The Queen Mary was closed last July we stayed at the Residence Inn. Nice hotel, good breakfast, and a nice stroll to the terminal.
  20. Thanks OP. Wasn't going to go to the Steakhouse on my February 18th cruise, but the price drop is nice so I booked it.
  21. The new packages are ridiculous and yesterday's email was misleading. Princess must think all their customers are dumb. Yes indeed, give me a crappy dessert to make up for the lousy wine in the beverage package, that is a totally fair trade off. How about they ask people what they want and give options to upgrade the packages with components that are important to the individual customer? It's irritating that you can't upgrade the beverage package w/o adding the pictures, two dinners, etc...
  22. Thank-you to @Pyxiefor asking the question. I too like to get an idea of what will be served, i.e. are they differentiated going into the second week or are items just moved around?
  23. Very cool, this is something I would enjoy.
