  1. NCL has abolished all testing. Should Celebrity follow? They presently require a proctored covid test prior to the cruise for a TA cruise. I'm on the Silhouette TA and now believe that testing should be ended since fully vaccinated passengers who test negative get Covid. I fully expect that the TA will have plenty of cases. They can get Covid on shore or on the ship. I'm fully vaccinated, including the recent omicron vaccine, yet a fully expect to get Covid. I have scheduled a proctored test in London so I'm set to go.
  2. Most of the waiters and stateroom attendants pay to get from the country to the ship. Celebrity covers the trip home after they complete their contract. The expense for Officers is completely covered.
  3. Curious about the impact to "extra" tips. Would the increase in tips affect your decision to give "extra" tips? It might influence the amount I give.
  4. This looks like it was an onboard booking offer. You could book onboard and assign the booking to a TA that may offer you additional perks or OBC.
  5. It might depend on the rules that were place at the time of booking. However you should ask your TA to check with Celebrity to see about a switch. I’ve done this with good results. Was going to ask for the same cruise since I initially could not schedule testing.
  6. It depends on the price of the cruise, promotions and how you book. Also depends on how much the agency wants to share with you. There is no normal amount of OBC!
  7. I favor this if it helps the crew, but I think it might result in the reduction of “extra” tips that might result in the crew getting fewer $$. In the past some waiters have said that only stateroom attendance received the increases. Only time will tell.
  8. I will be in London 4 days prior to my TA cruise,. Does Boots do the proctored testing? Do I just walk in or need a appointment? Thanks!
  9. All wonderful CDs. They are all do much more than the job description requires. All are very passenger friendly.
  10. The CD is in charge of all the entertainment on the cruise. A senior and popular CD has some influence on who is assigned to the cruise. This includes bands, speakers and entertainers. The CD may have more influence on the cruise experience than many might think.
  11. I’m a Sue fan! She is passenger friendly and she is everywhere. Some CD’s are wonderful from the stage, but stay to themselves when off the stage. I really appreciate people who go beyond the job description.
  12. I wonder if service has slowed in part because so many have drink packages?
  13. Cruise pricing is smoke and mirrors. That includes “special “ offers that may not be specials. You should book a cruise when you believe it to be a good value for you and not be concerned with “sales” or “specials”.
  14. Be sure to take the name and contact number of the Port Agent with you. They will contact the ship and tell them of any delays.
  15. The strategy doesn’t seem to work with me. Maybe they need to alter their approach to get me to book? I might be in the minority.
  16. I'll be very interested in seeing the prices for the new Crystal once they are released. They may have some bargains to attract passengers at the start and the prices will go way up after the initial offerings. They might be initially less per day than Celebrity. Crystal is a true luxury line.
  17. Suites seem to sell out at even the elevated prices. Celebrity would be crazy given the current environment to get less than the market dictates., I would not book at the prices, but others would.
  18. They don’t even have a lounge for Zeniths!
  19. Thank you. People should do as you have done and post on their roll calls with information that is specific to the destinations.
  20. Shouldn't the information posted on this thread be posted in the roll call for this cruise?
