Hard sided vs soft sided luggage
Charles4515 replied to luvs2beachit's topic in Ask a Cruise Question
My Osprey Sojourn 2-wheeler has inset big off-road wheels. I've had it since 2010 and have not blown a wheel yet. The big wheels on my Travel Pro Crew 2 wheel bags are replicable but I have not had to replace. -
Is Royal Caribbean building any small ships?
Charles4515 replied to latebuyer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Nothing to prevent any demographic from booking, seniors, solos etc. but they are building their ships for the multigenerational family demographic. He also touts the neighborhoods, boardwalk for the kids and central park for the adults. So I think they will mid mid size ships, 130,000 tons, nothing smaller than the 130,000 tons. But they could end up as big as 150,000 tons. -

So you don’t want to believe his public statements that their target demographic is the multigenerational family? By that he means the ships are built for children and their adult parents in the same family. -
Royal and Celebrity’s loyalty programs are not merged or combined. They are still separate programs with different loyalty benefits. The two programs have had reciprocity for years so a Diamond on Royal was at Elite level on Celebrity but not all levels had the equivalent reciprocity. The recent changes gave all the levels equivalent reciprocity and added Silversea but the benefits are of each level are still different. The programs are not combined.

It is Celebrity that is computer challenged. I used to get the Captains Club emails and then they stopped. Whatever their problem is they can’t fix it. Their IT is broken. So if you want the PUP’s follow this thread.

Editing Posts?
Charles4515 replied to AwkwardPenguin's topic in Need Help Using the Forums? Check Here!
There is a time limit. About 15 to 20 minutes after posting you can edit your own posts. There doesn’t seem to be a limit to how many times. I have sometimes made a dozen edit’s before time runs out. When time runs out you can no longer edit. -
Rolling Rock when it was decent was brewed in western Pennsylvania. After AB bought it they moved production to New Jersey sometime in the late oughts. It did not taste the same. Heineken sold in the US is brewed in the US. I am not a fan. The Heineken I had on draft in Amsterdam was way better.

Hard sided vs soft sided luggage

Travel Pro 2 wheelers have large wheels. I have never had a wheel break off. -
Our go to cheap beer for summer picnics until we found Yuengling when I lived on the east coast. Had it many times. Only tastes good ice cold when it is 90 degrees outside. Your beers are way better than Rolling Rock. Rolling Rock was bought out by Anheuser-Busch and they discontinued the bottles.

Is Royal Caribbean building any small ships?
Charles4515 replied to latebuyer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I sailed on Voyager during her maiden year when she was the largest cruise ship in the world and old time cruisers said she was too large and not for them! My first cruise was on Monarch of the Seas and it was considered large! I think there are two strains of thought here some who want small and others who want smaller and they get confused. Indy is certainly not small but I guess to new cruisers who only know the mega ships it is small. -
Passports before 2021 are read electronically. Probably a code or extra number. After 2021 Passports have a chip.

Ferry to St. George or Hamilton from Dockyard?
Charles4515 replied to Cruising to Retirement's topic in Bermuda
They take US dollars. Bermuda currency is pegged to the US dollar. So 1 BMD =1USD. They take USD everywhere in Bermuda. You should get some USD to use in Bermuda as Bermudian currency is not exchangeable. Any BMD can only be used in Bermuda. If you get USD you will be able to exchange it if you have any left over when you get home to Canada. You can use credit cards for most things like at restaurants and stores. -

All these promises yet every new ship is to use someone elses terminology an extra large ship. Future ships on order are extra large ships. For people who want to sail on smaller ships there are RCI smaller ships for RCI loyalists and plenty in other cruise line fleets. The sister brand Celebrity has Edge class which is in the Voyager size range and RCI cruisers have reciprocity. -

They have enough info on passengers bookings that they can enforce a ban.
-
They have names and birthdates. I think they can enforce a ban over time.

Smaller does not equal small. They are not building smaller or small ship currently. It is just an expectation. I expect they will build a smaller class but they won’t be small ships. -

Voyager class is not small. I don’t think they will go below Voyager class size. I think Voyager class size 130,000 is possible but that is the bottom line. They can probably squeeze more cabins in than Voyager class with a new design that size. Probably do infinite verandas like on Celebrity Edge. -

I prefer small ships but Royal Caribbean does not. -
I have read many posts post covid that NCL flat out has been saying no but it can’t hurt to ask and see if they are still saying no.

A few years ago someone did this in Jamaica. At first foul play was suspected but it turned out they missed the ship on purpose. Jamaica found them and charged them with illegal entry.

You only have about 15 minutes to edit. I don’t know why you called it a delicate question or even asked it. When you travel internationally you will find all kinds of different plumbing and toilet fixtures. You might have a bidet in your hotel bathroom. Someone I met on a cruise was wondering why the hotel bathroom in her pre cruise hotel had a toilet and urinal. She had no idea it was a bidet. In some countries there are no toilet seats.
-
Depends on the hotel. A newer hotel you might be able to. Older ones the plumbing is too narrow. It’s no problem if you can’t. There is will be a trash can with a lid with a foot pedal. It will be emptied every day. This is possible not only in Greece. I have encountered it in other countries.

There is such a thing as a birth certificate card? Never heard of that.
-
You main a birth certificate and a government issed photo ID? What is the cruise itinerary? They are accepted on many closed loop cruises but not all.
