  1. I alluded to this in a previous post. Beyond being newer is likely to have greater. bandwidth. Even with upgraded satellites the backend has not been upgraded on older vessels. I always had better internet on Solstace class ships than Millenium Class even after they switched to lower orbit satellites.Backend infrastucture effects bandwidth. The routers may be on an older standard. Does Celebrity buy more bandwidth, maybe. I don't know about currenty but premium internet packages when I used to sail a lot Royal for were about 1/3 the price of Celebrity packages. I would say pay $80 for a week on Royal and $240 a week on Celebrity before my loyalty discounts lowered the price. So maybe you get what you pay for?
  2. Again it is not just the speeds it is the bandwith. Beyond is new so the backend is likely the newest and latest. They probably have not done any upgrade of the backend on Oasis and my experience with Royal/Celebrity is that they have not upgraded the backends. They will still advertise it as Voom or Xcelerate and charge the same prices for lower quality service.
  3. Why would they want to see your vaccination status? You can get Covid whether vaccinated or not. The paper card would not fit in my wallet. If it were required at a travel destination I would carry it in my passport case. The only times I take it from home is if required. Or when I was getting my boosters and I wanted them added. I have them in my digital wallet. Those are verified. Anyone could fake a paper copy. Seems like a lot of OCD people here. I check the port and cruise line requirements. Some I guess don’t want to bother.
  4. The problems described are not from the speed they being are caused by congestion.
  5. Paper is easily damaged and unlike a passport or GE card there is no way I can get the paper card replaced. So far none has convinced me I should bring the paper card with me on cruises where vaccination is not required. I have photos of the card and digital records with QR codes in my Apple Wallet but I doubt anyone will ask to to see those either. My paper card will stay at home.
  6. It is income but there is no federal income tax on an inheritnnce. It does not get reported to the IRS. If it is more than 12 million there may be estate tax.
  7. My answer was what I do. I have had four shots but I am not takng the original if it is not required. I think everyone else should do what they feel comfortable doing. I keep all my vacicintion records, not only Covid on my iPhone in the health app. I find that helpful to keep up to date.
  8. I still have the records on my phone from when proof might have been required to enter some venue or busness (never had to though) but I never carried the actual card. I am not taking the actual card on a cruise when vaccination is not required by the cruise line. If some country or busness adds that after I embark and the digital record is not enough .............well I will take that risk.
  9. My experience has been about $50. They knocked that off the price of the cabin I booked, it was not actual move.
  10. You are correct. However I did report my losses on Puerto Rican bonds.....😩 Some good examples income recieved not reportable is inheritance under 11 million or soemthing like that , child support, sale of home proceeds.......
  11. I agree with the above and will add that the smaller Oceania ships can do itineraries and call at ports that the larger Celebrity ships can’t do.
  12. That’s is the mistaken belief that many believe and gets people stopped. Duty free does not mean you the purchaser does not have to pay duty. It means the onboard store did not pay duty so theoretically can sell it to you at a lower price. Unfortunately some of the shop’s sales people pitch it like no taxes are due but that may not be the case if you are over your allowance.
  13. Celebrity was never my automatic choice but I tended to book more Celebrity than other lines. Now it is not my first choice. Still a choice but I am moving my prefeences to lines like Oceania.
  14. They have been rumored to be exiting the fleet for about ten years. Sooner or later they will. At this point in time probably sooner than later. The Edge class ships are so different, so different that Celebrity is like two different lines.
  15. If they used the mobile app if you had something to declare you could use the app instead of the printed form. . But as has been said they don't use the app or form anymore at Port Everglades. Last time at Port Liberty (Bayonne) they were doing the face scan there too. In either case not using the app or the printed customs forms that does not end the obligation to declare. What people actually do I don't know.
  16. They have an agent there on the side. If you have something to declare you are supposed to see the agent to declare before walking through.
  17. Thank you for the update. Hope you had a good cruise.
  18. Possibly Oceania would know or could ask for supplemental service. Also NCL which owns Oceania has their own private ferry. You could contact Oceania and suggest the use of the NCL ferry.
  19. The government says there will be supplemental service but that is something I will believe when someone reports back that there was service whn they visited. I don't think it is something you can count on.
  20. It won't be running then. That will still be the winter schedue. It will resume on the summer schedule. They alternate between a winter and summer schedule. To give you a general idea last year that was May 2.
  21. If that is true they will lower the price until the ship fills up. Last minute bookings will pay less then those before final payment.
  22. Airplane Mode with WiFi turned on.
  23. It may be your account settings. Content viewed behavior has three options. Mine is set to take me to comments I haven't read. Take me to comments I haven't read Take me to the beginning Take me to the latest comment
