  1. You would want to take the ferry not a bus but if you took a bus Hamilton to Dockyard on one bus ride you need the 14 zone tickets which are $37.50 for a book of 15. You can't use the 3 zone tickets. Be aware that the booklets are not sold at the Dockyard. You can get them in Hamilton and at post offices.
  2. The tickets can be used by different people. Be aware that the ticket booklets are not sold at the Dockyard.
  3. As I understand the email points on either will be added until February 1, 2023. So your points on Azamara in December will be added to Captains Club.
  4. It has been one program. But now they are splitting. If you have never been on Azamara you will lose your Discoverer status on a certain date. If you had cruised on Azamara you would retain your Azamara status. I got an email explaining with the dates but since I have been on both Azamara and Celebrity I didn't pay attention to the effective dates.
  5. Apple watches don't need to be in airplane mode. The cellular models don't have international cell roaming enabled so they can't connect to cellular at sea. I have been taking my Apple Watch on cruises for years and have never put it in Airplane mode and never had a charge.
  6. It is probably easier to just look for a new agent for future bookings. If she is an excellent agent got to warn you though while there are plenty of good agents finding an excellent one may not be easy.
  7. If you don’t wear your Apple Watch at home I don’t see any point of wearing it on the ship. I use mine at home for health and fitness and for notifications so I don’t have to take my phone out of my pocket unless necessary. Also up to date weather. I also track my sleep. I use the tap to pay feature. When I used the DC metro it would open the fare gates. On a cruise I use it mostly to keep up with my fitness goals. As far as opening unlocking the door on a cruise while cruise lines could enable that I am not aware of any cruise line that has enabled unlocking doors.
  8. Your Apple Watch can be used on a Celebrity cruise. Your watch won’t roam unless you enable roaming with your carrier. Roaming is actually only technically possible on Apple Watches with the recently released WatchOS 9.1 and as of yet none of the carriers have yet announced when they will enable adding it to their plans.
  9. Cellular at Sea is not likely to be any better than the WiFi on the ship. The WiFi on the ship is through a satellite link. There are no cell towers at sea except microcells on the ship which have to be linked to a satellite link. I doubt they have a separate satellite link although I guess it is possible.
  10. I booked with them several times too. They were great TA's I did meet her as I went on one of her group cruises. Very nice lady. Died too young. I have been able to replace her with another great TA. Great TA's are not easy to find.
  11. There is a large amount of cross border traffic between communities along the US and Canada border. Border crossings are everyday in parts of those 5 states. Thus the low cost DL alternative to a passport book. Residents of those border communities likely don't already have a passport. Think of it as a Drivers License with a passport card built in.
  12. How would Real ID make us safer than the non Real ID drivers license? I am willing to be convinced. I have no objection personaly to having a Real ID DL .If my state gave me a choice I would have chosen the Real ID DL. Heck, I have Global Entry which required an interview, all kinds of info, and fingerprints. I tend to think Real ID is theater. Only half of DLs now are Real ID so what difference has it made for the 17 years not enforcing Real ID?
  13. That is not really the American way. It is more like the Chinese (government) way.
  14. Americans have been traditionally against having a National ID. There are constitutional issues involved, 4th amendemnt, right of privacy, and 1st amendement, freedom of association, i.e. not having to produce ID on request.
  15. Maybe Real ID was not necessary. Not having it after 17 years possibly proves it was not. So you favor coercing the voters to get it implemented.
  16. I would rather use the regular outlets and plug my fast USB-C chargers into those than use USB-A outlets.
  17. All the cruise ships that I have been on with USB outlets have USB-A connecters. All my current devices have USB-C connectors on their charge cables. What type on the brand new Beyond?
  18. Some states issue DL's to immigrants without legal US status. Those people can not get Real ID DLs.
  19. There was/is political opposition to a national ID program on both the right and left. The federal government workaround was to make it about domestic air travel. The federal government could not force the states to issue Real ID DL. It was not getting away with anything not complying. They did not have to. The states grudingly have given in and issued Real ID because the federal governmet controls who can board airplanes. So the states are forced to offer Real ID so their citizens could travel by air. Some states only offer Real ID DL and others offer it as an option.
  20. A Real ID DL requires additional prrof of identity and address. For example a passport or birth certificate. Proof of address like a utility bill, or car registration Proof of status, i.e. a social security card. In both states I got Real ID DL in they scanned the documents into their computer. Before Real ID we got our renewed DL immediately at the office. The Real ID DL had to be mailed.to us. So there would be additional manpower costs. Plus the Real ID licence not only has the Star, it has additional security features and probably more info embedded,
  21. Minors under 18 traveling with an sdult don't need ID for domestic air travel. As for the rest of your post you are confusing Real ID with Enhanced Drivers Licenses. Real ID will be required. Enhanced is an optional ID only available in 5 border states. EDL can be used instead of a passport on a closed loop cruise. There is no requiremant for Real ID for cruises. It will only be needed for domestic air travel and to enter some federal facilitiies and military bases.
  22. That is probably the only way they could do it. My guess is that if and when it actually goes into effect (there may be lawsuits) the large ships will skip Bar Harbor.
  23. I don't agree. The public should not be blamed. The main reason they say it is being delayed this time is because of covid. Many DMV's were closed. No way to appear at a DMV with the documents for two years in my states. As far as the 2008 date only a few states complied then and in betweet most states dragged their feet or refused to comply.for years for various reasons. Some for political reasons (that it was creating a national ID card) and some for financial reasons. The states were the obstacle. In many states Real ID was not available until a few years ago. As for whether it is needed , I doubt it. State governments did not think so. It was imposed by the federal government.
  24. In my current state they don't require seniors to take a written test but at age 79 and above they have someone "evaluate" you. Sounds subjective. In my previous state no written test only a vision test.
  25. During Covid many DMVs did not have office hours for renewals. That is the reason given for the delay. I read that about 50% of US DLs are Real ID.
