  1. I incorrectly thought that the itinerary in question was published by the port, but it's by a UK based travel agency. I have reached out to them for clarification and will post here when they reply.
  2. The website for the port of Portsmouth is not showing Ibiza on our itinerary any more, and lists Mahon, Menorca instead. I checked the website for both Ibiza and Mahon and didn't see the ship listed in their schedules. I did notice that the taxes/fees were recently lowered a few bucks, and wonder if that's due to a port change. At least there's only one port missing this time around, compared to our booking on the Brilliant where the ship wasn't listed in any of the port schedules yet Virgin insisted that the sailing was still on. Anyone here have some insight, or is it too early to tell what's what?
  3. I was on Holland America's Nieuw Statendam last month, and several crew members were wearing flesh colored sleeves to cover up their ink.
  4. Men's cut last February was $75
  5. I had my haircut on board the Valiant last February. The barber was a young man from India, and di d a nice job. While I was making my appointment with him, someone was in the chair enjoying his shave and some bourbon on the rocks. He seemed very happy with the treatment he was getting.
  6. In the Caribbean, you SHOULD be ok, but nothing's guaranteed.
  7. I believe anything with the Diva will have "Diva" in the title, such as "Around the world with the Diva", or "Bingo with the Diva".
  8. The Diva is the only drag performer on the ship
  9. The wine selection varies by venue, so it's hard to choose just one that you'll get everywhere.
  10. I believe you can ask about TAs on the VirginVoyages subreddit on Reddit.
  11. We had custom baseball jerseys made for our cruises on Virgin Voyages, and they were a big hit. They make all sorts of jerseys, jackets, shirts etc for various sports, and they are totally customizable. The QR code will take you to the site I ordered them from.
  12. We've sailed with Virgin 4 times in the past year, and have 3 more booked. Princess has offered us deals as low as $50 per cabin for 14 day sailings, and we didn't consider them for a second. Besides no real dress codes, there's also no announcements, no art auctions, no photographers, no added gratuities on drinks, etc......the vibe on board is of acceptance, not exclusivity, (except for Richard's Roof Top which is for suites only)
  13. Forget everything you are used to on other lines, and simply enjoy being yourselves, whether that means getting all dressed up, or just chilling in shorts and a tee-shirt. You do you. Enjoy your cruise!
  14. If you are talking about the surveys that pop-up in your app while on-board, we've had management approach us as we arrived for our dinner reservations to discuss service issues we've brought up in the surveys. They might not be able to meet with everyone, but they do care, and try to rectify things when they can.
  15. We left Princess about a year ago, and have never looked back, even when offered rates as low as $50 per cabin.
  16. Are the liquor stores in VA still state run? I used to manage a bar in Tysons Corner in the early 80s....and found them harder to deal with compared to my hometown in Montgomery County, MD.
  17. I feel the same way about "Maryland" Crab Cakes.
  18. In my years as a liquor wholesale rep in Florida in the 80s, I can count the number of bottles of yellow Chartreuse I sold on one hand. Only a few high-end hotels carried it. Thank goodness I also repped brands like Absolut and Bacardi, otherwise I would have starved to death. 🤣
  19. I remember day 1 of our first VV....we were eating at the Dock, and I said to my wife, "I could eat this ____ every day" Very simple to make. The hardest part for some may be locating Aleppo Pepper flakes, but we have a great international grocer near us. Amazon has it as well.
  20. It was easy for this ex-lyric baritone (lazy tenor) to recognize. Sadly, I haven't sung in years.....used to be John Wustman's student assistant in the early 80s.
  21. Would I be correct in assuming that you're a mezzo?
  22. Nice review. I for one love a soft creamy cheesecake over something chilled solid.
  23. We love the shrimp so much, I started making it at home. It's a quick and simple treat!
  24. Lyft has been cheaper than Uber every time we're in South Florida for a cruise.
