  1. We received an email from Virgin about our cruise in 3 weeks informing us that they've changed our cabin because the cabin is, "currently getting a little extra love right now." They moved us to a cabin with a connecting door which tend to be noisier. The connecting cabin just happens to be a suite. Suites have Bose speakers and a bar for parties. Virgin claims that this is an upgrade. We loved our original location, and have the same cabin booked for all of our sailings . My gut feeling is that due to lower occupancy, they are trying to avoid having occupied cabins scattered all over to make things easier for the stewards. Our TA is spending all morning on the phone, trying to get things resolved.
  2. The vibe on board is wonderful and accepting.
  3. Every day is practically an LGBTQIA+ meet-up! You will have zero problem meeting people on board.
  4. Not every TA books Virgin, but those who do are getting the highest commission rates in the industry, so you should get something extra for booking with them. Our TA gives us an additional $100 bar tab.
  5. If you've messed the sheets up and need them changed, say so.
  6. Offering grilled fresh local seafood seems like a no-brainer, but I doubt the supply could keep up with the demand.
  7. MSC doesn't match feature for feature either. We were "elite" with Princess. (their top tier) and we consider Virgin's perks to be much better than what Princess was offering. We'll never go back.
  8. We brought a bottle to 2 different dining venues on board and were not charged corkage.
  9. The terms for all of their promotions can usually be found here: https://www.virginvoyages.com/promotions-terms-and-conditions?
  10. While perusing the terms and conditions, I cam across this additional benefit for Sea Rovers*, a Sea-Rover charm (upon request starting in 2023). *Sea Rover: Those who have completed two full-fare (i.e. no free Access Key, or reduced fare) voyages on Scarlet Lady or Valiant Lady between January 1, 2022 - March 31, 2023 (inclusive). If anyone has one, please share a pic!
  11. Bottles of champagne are always a good idea for eating up your bar balance.
  12. In my post-cruise survey, I gave them a complete list of logo merch I would have bought if they had it.
  13. I don't think you'll find another cruise line to be as accommodating as Virgin when it comes to food.
  14. Uber or Lyft, is plentiful, and the waiting area is right in front of the terminal. Lyft is usually priced much lower than Uber.
  15. Not witty, but I recently saw this post for custom Scarlet Night stuff. Looks like anything can be customized. https://www.reddit.com/r/ScarletNight/
  16. Free laundry on Princess could take 3-5 days to get back depending on how many "elites" are on board. This is so much better...even if it's only 1 bag per cruise...great for a 4-5 day sailing, not so good for our upcoming transatlantic.
  17. I photographed the menu card so I could remember the ingredients to make the shrimp at home. As soon as we returned homer, I practically ran to my favorite international market to buy Allepo flakes to make the butter for the shrimp.
  18. Ditto. Day one I said, "I could eat this $#@% every day.
  19. The big difference is the entire vibe. No announcements interrupting your day. No photographers chasing you down, no main dining room, no specialty dining, no cruise director, no art auctions, no hard-sell. It's the most relaxing & fun cruise we've ever been on. If your main concern is cost, stop wasting your time. It's not gonna get any cheaper.
  20. I found that if you use crew chat to inform them that a particular venue is short-staffed, they can send additional help to take care of things. This happened on the Dock one afternoon. The place was swamped with only 1 waitress. They did a great job by temporarily bringing waitstaff from a slower venue to help out.
  21. We're sailing the exact same itinerary on 2/25. Thanks for doing this!
  22. Here's everything you need to know for now: https://www.virginvoyages.com/sites/sailing-club#deep-blue-extras And here's where you apply: http://tiny.cc/zoc3vz
  23. I knew someone who for a while refused to buy milk after they read the nutritional label. They thought the sugar listed was an added ingredient.
  24. You couldn't find another cruise line more willing to accommodate any dining issues.
  25. We fly in a day before the cruise, so we take the Tesla to our hotel, but the terminal is within the 5 mile limit. When you book the Tesla ride, it will tell you if the address is within the 5 mile zone. If not, there's always Uber or Lyft, with Lyft currently the cheaper option.
