  1. This is an example of why Carnival makes money on Cheers. Everyone calculates their usage on a sea day. On your average seven-day cruise, there are only three sea days and four days that are not full days due to port days embarkation and debarkation. Unless you maintain this level of usage on those days also, you are losing money on the deal.
  2. This is me. Not 15, but at least the price of cheers per day would have to be consumed or it would kill me. Wife ready for bed, not me, I have to drink three more drinks before I can sleep, or I lose money and my Scottish ancestors curse me.
  3. I based that on the OP saying they only drink about 4 a night. I was not trying to tell people how much they should drink. Just that at even 5 a night, you are still better just buying your drinks.
  4. Wow, I was hoping for more information, but none of this story adds up. He remembers everything except how he fell off the ship! He thinks he was unconscious in the water long enough for the ship to get out of sight, but somehow did not drown while unconscious. Naked except for socks when found. Sounds like he was doing something so stupid that he just does not want to tell us about it.
  5. No way, not even with the most expensive cocktails. You have to drink 6 cocktails a day EVERY DAY of the cruise to break even. Unless you are one of those crazy people who likes to spend more money to not worry about how much money they are spending.
  6. If you are thinking it may not be worth it, then it almost always is not worth it. People who drink really hard often complain of realizing they would have spent less just buying drinks. Everyone thinks about the times they will want a drink when they cruise and not all the time it is just not practical like days when you are onshore for most of the day.
  7. Always more cruisers at Christmas than Thanksgiving. Christmas week and New Year's week are some of the biggest weeks for Carnival and sold out every year, where Thanksgiving often does not sell out completely. If crowding is an issue for you though, you just need to try some of the ships with more public square space per passenger like the Pride and the Spirit. Below is the passenger space ratio for Carnival cruises. Many people do not care about this, but for me it makes or breaks a cruise. Unfortunately, Carnival needs to maximize profit, so I doubt we will see another ship in the 40 square feet per passenger class, but they sure are nice. 41.7 – Spirit class ships (Spirit, Pride, Legend, and Miracle) 37.6 – Carnival Splendor 36.9 – Conquest class ships (Conquest, Glory, Freedom, Valor, and Liberty) 35.6 – Carnival Dream 35.2 – Carnival Magic and Breeze 34.3 – Fantasy class ships (Ecstasy, Sensation, Elation, and Paradise) 34.3 – Carnival Sunshine 34.1 – Mardi Gras, Carnival Radiance 34 – Carnival Sunrise 33.9 – Vista class ships (Horizon, Vista, and Panorama)
  8. Unfortunately, many things in the Pride will be different than just weeks ago when she was in Europe. I am checking daily for any updates post November 10th.
  9. Anyone tested FTTF yet? I really want to know if you can show up prior to your check in time.
  10. I still wear a jacket to dinner every night, but no, he does not need one.
  11. Same here, late December cruise and waiting to hear about this from a person who tries it. Without being able to ignore check in times, I plan on cancelling.
  12. I still wear a tux on every cruise on elagant night and I am never alone, just in the minority, but I am sorry, no more rentals.
  13. No, I see no benefit in buying FTTF if you have a suite. All the perks I want from FTTF are already provided with suite purchase.
  14. December 18th. My normal check in date was December 4th, I will certainly be checking all week started December 1st.
  15. 17 days and I have also never heard of anyone getting a 9am.
  16. Yes, check in times have been in place for a long time, but as a long time purchaser of FTTF I can tell you that pre covid you could buy FTTF and have a check in time of 1:30 and just ignore it and get into the terminal at 10:00. That is the perk I am most interested in with FTTF and something was posted yesterday on Heald's account inferring this may no longer be a perk allowed.
  17. I just bought it and mine did not change. 89.95 for a 5 day cruise. If I get confirmation that I have to adhere to a check in time, I will cancel though. I see no benefit if that is the case.
  18. I just bought it. Would love to know if the perk of being able to ignore check in time is still a thing. The details do not address it, but frankly they did not before either. It was just a thing you could do.
  19. Yes, if they make you adhere to the arrival time with FTTF, then I would see no value in purchasing it. Hopefully they will not do that.
  20. I am not a fan of the Mardi Gras, not only did greatly reduce the public space per passengers on this ship, they reduced the size of the cabins. I would not drive or pay extra for the Mardi Gras.
  21. Yes, when FTTF was available in the past it has always included being able to show up whenever you like and ignore your assigned check in time although you still had to pick one.
  22. I will buy it as soon as it appears, but really only for three perks, being able to ignore my assigned check in time and show up as soon as they open, priority boarding and early room access.
  23. I cannot be those people I always see on cruises wearing the same shirt or shorts multiple days and the same outfit to dinner they wore all day. Going to have to just keep checking big bags for me.
  24. I use Chase as my primary card, but Carnival does not appear in my offers either.
