We are taking our first cruise on MSC in January and have cruised Carnival for 20 years. Carnival friends keep telling me that MSC staff is rude, and I suspected that your comment above is what they meant. I know some people think this sounds bad, but I personally do not want to start long conversations with the staff. I did not tell you all about my kids and home, why are you telling me about yours. Just not my thing. I think I may enjoy the staff a lot more on MSC.

Does MSC assign check in time based on first come first serve or is this based on another factor. I like most of what I am hearing about MSC and they could steal me away from Carnival, but never in all my years of cruising have I had to board as late as 3pm.

The Pride did it when I was on that ship in December three years ago.

Carnival cruisers demographics were much lower than that percentage. Look at vaccination rates by income and then the projected number of Carnival cruisers making under 60k per person.

Carnival is in a really tough spot and I would no longer bet on the company staying afloat. Last two quarters they sailed at average capacity of 67% and 78% despite everyone on this board thinking they have been sailing at full capacity and most of those fares were discounted deeply. They cannot raise prices much because the intelligent cruiser will jump to another line. They cannot compete with lines like Royal at the same price and MSC is working really hard at stealing their market. They need to gamble at this point and saturate the market with ad campaigns and drop all testing. For some reason an idiot at Carnival spent big money on ad campaigns last year when 40% of their market base could not even step on a cruise.

I Love MSC prices, but it would be hard for me to believe they are really competing with Royal.

WTH, I just booked an MSC cruise and they want an actual PCR Lab test. Don't they know we are just asking and pretending at this point?

I realize I put Balcony above out of habit. It will be an interior they choose. This is also something we have only done once and somewhat of an experiment. Is cruising worth it at the lowest price? No frills no extras, no extra spending on board.

I do not have a cabin number, I am letting them assign it which I have also never done.

Good afternoon, we will be taking an MSC cruise in January and I am trying to determine what I might not know and am reading all I can find. We are platinum on Carnival and have cruised all major cruise lines except Costa. I am trying to find the gaps in my knowledge. I already see that they will match my status at Carnival and have uploaded my request, but I only just saw that I may have been able to get a discount if done first, but too late now. Already booked. Paid shows? I see that some shows are for a fee. Are there other stage shows for free also? What am I really missing by not upgrading to Fantastica from Bella? Free in room dining? Does that mean that room service is not available or for a fee without Fantastica? Looks like boarding is scheduled like Carnival and I assume I will be able to pick or get assigned a time at the 20 day check in date? We don't drink much and unless excursions are very different on MSC, we seldom do those anymore. Looking for any advice on what I might need to know. I have a balcony booked on Meraviglia and am just with Bella right now. Thanks

What a nightmare to be on the Paradise right now and have your car sitting in Tampa. Will be interesting to see what happens. If Carnival were to get you back to Tampa, getting out might be interesting. Hope you left it with a full tank of gas.

Don't worry too much yet, this is the GFS Model. The European model has it going straight to Tampa.

One Bonine the night before the cruise and every night at bed. Works better than anything. Candied real ginger chews for when the seas start overcoming the Bonine. They sell them at Walmart.
