I had dinner last week at The Savoy Grill which is one if his restaurants. Great food and not bad service. The wine list was one of the most expensive that I have ever seen. I thought that my wine should have been served to me by security guards rather than the sommelier.

Yes,and lots of swearing from the kitchen. You'll feel at home I'm sure.

They're getting Gordon Ramsay on for your cruises

No, not at all. The limo driver drops us off and then we get help with luggage for the walk to reception and our room. I love the wine list there and the view from one of the tables near to the glass windows

They are spending a lot of time trying to figure out why the Colonnade doesn't work well for dinner. It's a breakfast and lunch buffet cafeteria. One of the problems with dinner there is that none of the food is cooked there and it comes from the main galley and is assembled in the Colonnade kitchen area. A shame really as in warm weather the outside seating at the stern of the ship is a nice place to be. Michael Sandoval has been working on themes and menus and is on the right road.

Yes,I agree Seabourn have had difficulty in the last couple of years but Natalya seems to have the energy and is certainly listening. TK has had the Spanish Archer amd Michael Sandoval is implementing new things and events in the Colonnade as we speak. I think Solis taking over from TK will be what is needed and Tony Eggars vision with what he did with E&O will be just right. Who knows what future Seabourn face and with no orders for new ships. Crystal promises new ships but I'm not sure Manfredi will get the finance that is needed for new ships. Carnival can authorise new ships for Seabourn if that is the direction they want to go but as we have seen,there was a try at selling the brand. I have seen countless old crew go to other lines. Explora Journeys have a raft of old Seabourn experts that got the line going and Viking too. Silversea is the one to go to at present and Regent have lovely new ships albeit with a very different crowd to SS and SB. It's all good for us as we can put our money down on any line that takes our fancy. I'm off to QG Cunard soon to get a more traditional type of luxury. I'll be ok as long as I don't go to the parts of the ship that aren't QG 😀

Yes Markham,I agree to some extent but what is your take on the feel of the ships atmosphere, mainly the guests is what I am getting at. I sail on both lines but find the feel very different on both lines.

I never have a problem with deck space on Enc/Ov I never go around the pool deck or even the deck above. I have a space higher up away from the noise and hustle of the lower decks. You have to know these two ships to make it work for you. Looking forward to SS RAY for a very different experience.

That's fine but I don't know many chefs or restaurants that would be happy with the runny mashed potato and the whole dish being smothered in two different sauces. I'm glad that that's the dish for you. I would have liked to have seen the sauce served on the side so that you can put as much or as little into the dish as you wish.

The serene area is behind the spa reception at the rear of the ship. I like to lose myself there occasionally and there are relaxing hot beds and sauna/steam options. The wine discount for me is the best perk at sea as I only buy wine from the list.
