  1. Glad you had a good cruise Laurie. Definitely find another gastro for you husband. I’d ask your arthritis & primary care docs for some referrals (you can do it by phone too). None of those diagnoses are great, hope it turns out to be something that is easier to treat. we’ve stayed at that Marriott & that restaurant both excellent. Melody
  2. I’m allergic to titanium, silver & nickel. If it’s under 14 carat good I have issues
  3. The silk ling johns also double as pjs. I’ve used them for many years. So much better than pantyhose
  4. I got a pair of denim shorts (just above knee) at Costco yesterday they’re a Chaps brand
  5. Kat, try Amazon. Nellies pickled beets are delicious too I’m not watching news, I just can’t
  6. We were at our granddaughter’s middle school graduation when the news of the TX school shooting came thru. Everyone hugged just a bit closer. Our daughter’s first year of teaching was the year of Columbine. It hasn’t gotten better 😢
  7. Fair winds & following seas to Don. I always enjoyed his common sense approach to different questions on the board. Our sincere condolences to the family; he was a good guy
  8. Margaret, my cousin has a place in Sodus Point, very close to that state park. Some great wineries there. Melody
  9. You & your daughter have a fabulous cruise!!!
  10. & it’s still snowing (not sticking yet). This wasn’t expected. Our oldest flies home today from their 30th anniversary trip in Jamaica (hope she brought a coat!!!). Melody
  11. Finally had moisture, in the form of 18” of heavy, concrete snow. My snow lollipops (aka wind spinners) & poor flamingos Melody
  12. My snow lollipops & poor flamingos. Ended up with 18” here, but the melt is on!! Melody
  13. Little bit of snow this morning (about 11-12” so far). Going to snow all day. Won’t last long. We really need this moisture. Melody
  14. Nellies bottled onions, liquid & all. Get them at Walmart, Safeway, Kroger, King Soopers (probably at Publix too). You can use frozen Pearl onions too (just add at least a cup of water or white wine with frozen.
  15. Book it on line. As soon as you board go to the glass blowing area & select your day & time. We selected first thing in the morning on a sea day. Fascinating process & will definitely do this again. Your final cost is determined on what you make. The bigger the item, the more expensive. One hint. Bring a roll of bubble wrap, they only have brown wrapping paper. Enjoy
  16. That recipe is my go to for company as it’s easy & pretty. Slice the tenderloin & arrange the veggies around it. snow is due to start about noon & go till Sunday morning. I’d be really happy with rain
  17. Kat, weather! We’ve been bone dry & in the 90s now for over a week. Tomorrow that changes. We’re expecting the high to be 28 tomorrow thru Sunday & 8-12” of heavy concrete snow. We need the moisture but that’ll break all the trees down, sigh. We’ll bring in what we can & cover with trash cans/big pots what we can’t. Feast or famine. another idea for pork tenderloin. Sauté the pork in a little butter. Smother with a jar of bottled onions (Nellies, not martini olives) & a can of diced tomatoes, you can add a sliced bell pepper (any color) too. Lower heat, cover & simmer for an hour. Hubs likes his over mashed potatoes, I eat as is. Melody
  18. I don’t even go upstairs in my house in the morning without my sunscreen. I’ve had so many skin cancers (& I go back for more removals on the 31st). I wear sunscreen under makeup, slather it on hands, arms & legs. I’ve been doing a lot of gardening & I still got a bit pink yesterday with SPF hat, long sleeved SPF shirt, SPF lightweight pants & gobs of sunscreen. I think it’s windburn!!! Melody
  19. Not smart to try for one pair, what if it breaks?? Daughter had one pair of dressy sandals & her sneakers…yup, sandals broke. She wore her sneakers everywhere (& wasn’t happy about it)
  20. I bought a new suitcase for the same reason at Macys this weekend. I bit the bullet & bought another Tumi for a carryon
  21. Kat I think you’re talking about the Saldo Zinfandel (bottled by Prisoner). It’s a Napa Valley wine, not Portugal. The Juan Gill red blend is a Spanish red. Both are fabulous Fires still present, but mostly under control…we’re safe. Melody
  22. We spent the day yesterday ready to evacuate because of fires in Colorado Springs. Closest they came to us was 3 miles. We had sustained winds at 40mph & gusts to 80mph, humidity was less than 5% & temperatures in the 80s. Today looks like more of the same. We badly need some rain, day 102 without moisture!! Melody
