  1. Laurie, I just got a pair of Pro Guide capris from Eddie Bauer, they also have shorts & are on sale. Very comfy (once I got the right size). Athleta shorts are also on sale
  2. That’d be a perfect jacket Lois, that’s what I keep in my carryon bag. If the corduroy gets wet it’ll never dry!
  3. Lois, have a great time in Alaska. Personally I’d bring a hooded rain jacket instead of a corduroy jacket, the likelihood of rain is pretty good. Melody
  4. Sherri, we’ve done the back except for our 30-40’ deck, we’re replacing under pinning & a few boards. I wanted Trex (& it would’ve been so much easier!!) Les wanted redwood (& he’s doing 90% of the work). Our SIL is working on a xeriscape design for our front yard, he’ll do it for us during his slow time. We’ve had monsoon rains & intense thunderstorms for the past 2 weeks (5” of badly needed rain). This is our great grand dog, Sir Winston(6 mo old basset hound). His first time crawling into a chair on his own, so proud of himself we’re cruising on Harmony OTS (out of FLL) in early December have a great time with your Dad, those visits are special. Melody
  5. It’s not a ship thing, it’s a tour vendor thing. We couldn’t book a rainforest hike (forget the island, I’m a fossil). We went on our own & ended up passing the ‘young’ group who were having issues making the trail, rookies. Stinks, but that’s what it is & why we normally do our own thing or get a private excursion.
  6. Jean capris will be fine. If you like them, wear them
  7. No frozen drinks of any kind. Cosmo, Kir Royal, rum & coke, white, red wine (dubious vintage) a few beers, a few other drinks
  8. But only for the limited Captain's Club menu. Reflection didn’t have it at Martini or World Class Bar
  9. Waterproof a cheap pair of Keds, the waterproofing is the important part unless you’re not getting off the bus or ship
  10. Denali had measurable snow last week. Personally, I’d waterproof an old pair of sneakers & leave them (thereby more room for souvenirs on way home). Definitely a hooded rain jacket, warm hat & gloves (SmartWool socks a plus), I’d include a fleece vest ( but I get cold easily)
  11. Let’s see, my beach flip flops, my closed toe Sketcher (dressy shoe) either white or multicolor (depending on what colors I’m bringing), gold (or black) sandals for evenings (again depending on what colors I’m bringing), my Keen sandals (wear on plane & excursions). My feet swell, terribly, so I’ll also have my trusty Birkenstocks, just in case.
  12. Ladies, Chicos has brown this year!! They’re calling this Briar brown. Pants, tents, tshirts, this ruana & more
  13. Anita, perfect closet! Great job!!! I too love Woolx & merino wool. I find most cashmeres way too itchy.
  14. Protonix wasn’t too bad (did nothing for me). Sucralafate made me horribly nauseated. I had the ulcer & hiatal & ventral wall hernias.
  15. I hated Protonix & sucralfate; they tried that for awhile. Then went to the Dexilant that’s once a day & worked immediately. Hope you do well with them
  16. Lois, did they give you Dexilant? Wickedly expensive & worth every single penny. Congratulations on the wright loss
  17. Anita best of luck to your hubby on his new job. Do you have pictures of your closet? I need some inspiration Laurie, I’m having a heck of a time finding any of those shoes (on line or in person). Seems Colorado has already gone to winter styles 😢. Melody
  18. Lois, Pooh on another ulcer. So glad you’ll be able to go on your trip (you leave like next week don’t you?). Meanwhile definitely don’t eat any popcorn (ulcers don’t like popcorn!!!). Melody
  19. I bought 2 suits in TJMaxx & 1 in Ross (both on 17th St by embassy Suites last winter, many many nice suits. One I bought was a Miracle suit that I paid $22 for
