  1. You really want to take uneaten food from someone’s used plate and give it to crew ?
  2. The question is why pay so much more for the mini suite and not take advantage of the dining you are paying extra for ? Location really ls the only other advantage
  3. We also use the locate function quite often plus the chat function rather than waiting in line at guest services Also use WiFi to keep up on news , emails and sports scores. We were sailing during the Olympics and was able to keep up to date especially following local athletes. I do however prefer to read books on my kindle which actually girls it my back pocket
  4. Just look at the bottom of the screen where it shows options and you will see a button labeled “Chat”
  5. We all love our pets we can’t live without them
  6. I don’t even own a tie since I retired. Every dinner it is crew pants and button down shirts. My shoes don’t even have laces except for my snow boots
  7. That is funny we just used it two weeks ago on the Grand both to contact guest services and to contact each other
  8. Not per cruise but the ability to prepay does help in 60-90 sailing days a year. Pays for a couple of SD’s. My initial comment was a reaction to people who think the sky is falling every time any changes are made in cruising
  9. Define decent time. We never eat dinner before 7:30 or 8:00
  10. You cannot pay to use Club / Reserve dining nor can you bring in friends. We have told our friends that if they want to eat with us they will have to book the higher class cabins. You can always eat with them in the regular MDR but then all you are getting from your cabin is location
  11. See always swap all booze for vodka all pop for Diet Coke and all water for Perrier. No problems at all since restart. We don’t really drink much coffee
  12. Is that the same grapevine where the Grand and Island have been sold multiple times ?
  13. It is all about itineraries. On 10 day Mexico cruises out of SF the cutoff is often over 800 days our 550 don’t ever get included On a recent b2b earlier this month both legs had over 2,100 first time cruisers and under 80 elites. We always go to the lunch if we make the cut
  14. I am still convinced it is up to the individual ship and captain as to which is held. We have seen a combination of cocktail parties and lunches going back 20+ years
  15. This was back in the 1990’s. B2B Alaska less than 30 elites on board
  16. They don’t use the mid ship deck 6 dining room for breakfast or lunch because that is where Reserve Class is and when people come to breakfast and find a line they try and talk their way into Reserve class area. It makes it very hard on the restaurant managers. We even see arguments at dinner with people saying they have a reservation and an argument ensues. They should never have changed the name from club class
  17. Yeah but our suites are really complimentary insides or balconies upgraded to sites.
  18. We must make up for you we have from 30-40 days to 60-90 days now
  19. Yes we were #2 most traveled and at the captains table. Yes he is super nice. He got us really close to Hubbard
  20. If I believe all the rumors over the years the I guess the Grand has been sold multiple times and so has the Island.
  21. I would assume so if you have no pre paid. We have 8 cruises booked and paid for through June 2026 with plus package I am glad because it does add up
  22. True that but the economics still say lunch for 40 out of 3,000 + one day out of 16 with cheap wine and no cocktails is negligible so I I really don’t buy the logic. Especially as one person said they closed down the Wheelhouse bar for a couple hours how is that a help to the profit line ? I have been hearing this story for a long time whenever someone expects a lunch and gets cocktails
  23. Tap water quality will vary ship to ship just like on land. Ask the people in Flint Michigan Not being serious
  24. Lunch for 40 is not a big deal especially on longer cruises where it happens once ever 16 days or so
  25. And yet the Grand keeps having lunches one this week in fact
