  1. Sea days is usually 10:30 closing. Port days 10:00. But this can differ per ship
  2. Because I don’t want to pay $60 per couple per day over a 2 or 3 week cruise when there is probably only a few things I ever order in Crown or Sabatini’s and the Catch menu has very few things my wife can eat since she is allergic to most ocean white fish. In addition I enjoy the Reserve dining area which I find more relaxed and quieter. We rarely eat in SD’s more than maybe 4 times on a 16 day cruise
  3. I have 3 usual breakfasts there and just go back and forth. We know longer even look at a menu
  4. Even at home our dinner time is 7:30 on normal evenings. Never eat lunch before 1:00 either. Just our style I know many people who cruise want to eat as early as possible I even see them lineup outside the deck 5 MDR as early as 4:30 which frees things up for us. We rarely go to any show in the theater but enjoy the music pre dinner in the Wheelhouse or other venues
  5. As a suite passenger I have never been turned away as long as I am willing to eat after 7:39. At times when we decided last minute and just walked up around 8:00 a server told us there was no room he the manager knew us from suite breakfast and created a table
  6. Remember if you are elite you can get 2 mini bars each leg if you want
  7. If they add more casual meals to plus it would be even harder to get into venues on Grand class ships. 2 weeks ago on the Grand they were having to hand out beepers at Alfredo’s An extra $10 per day really wouldn’t work if all you get is a few more $14.99 meals and if they went to unlimited you would never get into any of them
  8. Even on days we don’t feel like breakfast we always go to have a pot of tea and chat with the servers and manager. Many of them are usually people we have known from before
  9. If people want to get in touch all our friends and family know to email us
  10. There are still little nibbles but mostly we use the concierges themselves to get us into specialty dinners without having to decide what day non embarkation we want to eat there. We have never been turned away as full suite passengers
  11. I just can’t see eating all my meals with just 2 menus. We decide in the morning after viewing menus where we want to eat
  12. My Bluetooth stays on while in airplane made or not. All audio and alerts go to my hearing aids. For a couple of ports in a 2 week cruise I don’t find it an issue any more than connecting to a restaurants WiFi when we are out to lunch. I know we agree on most things about cruising but have to disagree here. Are you on board sometime soon
  13. Since Princess doesn’t allow you to use cash or credit cards I don’t think that is an option
  14. I have never seen any sign that Princess accepts things like Apple Pay Have you done that ?
  15. Yes because I drink at least 8 cocktails every day of every cruise.
  16. We switch out all alcohol to vodka, all soft drinks to Diet Coke and waters to Perrier
  17. Why would you use tap to pay while on shop. I leave airplane mode on and then turn it off in port since medallion net won’t work off the ship anyway
  18. Been booking over the last week and plus is still only $60. Isn’t $70 speculation ?
  19. The first time was encountered the 18% was on our last cruise a few weeks ago. Back in May this did not show up so very recent
  20. Having been on multiple Princess ships since the restart we have not seen reservations for any casual dining options
  21. Word is that Take 5 on the Royal class ships is being turned into non smoking slot machines with no music just the bar which also serves as the casino bar
  22. How recent was that cruise. This is a charge that was recently added
  23. $180 per day for a couple is quite a bit of money when you cruise 60-80 days a year and 14-21 days at a time. We only go to SD’s maybe 2-3 times a cruise for days when we don’t care for the menu that night. No we do not book in advance and suite concierges and suite breakfast managers have always been able to get seated after 7:30. Our drinking tastes fit perfectly into the plus package so that is what we get
  24. Plus does not get you any discounts on SD. All of mine goes to WiFi and grats and booze
  25. You would need 3 hours minimum in the gym to work off the ice cream calories
