  1. I would just stay away from future cruise teams unless you want to experience a full on sales push
  2. We have always been able to book on board but we eat later than some. We never eat before 7:30 pm
  3. Same here from the good old days. Otherwise lots of people would have a real problem finding their cabin at 2:00 sm
  4. I have never seen this on any Grand class ship. I believe it is a lido deck venue on Royal class ships It is not a dish from the MDR lunch menu
  5. Or just don’t book on board. We do everything through our CVP
  6. I still don’t get why anyone would prepay for a guaranteed specialty dinner on embarkation night. They leave tables empty on purpose. We have sailed exclusively in suites over the last 10 cruises and have never had a problem getting reservations on board. We sail plus package so that is our only free one but we usually look at dinner menus in the morning and if we decide to go specialty that night we just see the manager In Sabatini’s for breakfast and get reservations for 7:30 or 8:00 never been an issue
  7. It is not a philosophy it was a tongue in cheek reply to people who remove all their CA because they don’t believe in tipping. When I was a server in restaurants we figured out who those people are and reacted appropriately
  8. If it was me I would renew. I am 74 as of next week and plan on traveling at least another 20 years if not longer
  9. No it is only CVP’s who are trained in casino sales. The question is why future cruises would attempt it Probably because they have pressure to sell at any cost
  10. Yes I believe they do that because when they have the regular MDR and Reserve in the same dining room people who can’t get into the venue because there is a wait try to push their way into Reserve instead of waiting since they can see empty tables. Yea I have seen this often
  11. If they are ex CVP’s then they should know about cruise deals and how to book them since CVP’s have been doing them for several years. The future cruise folks tried to do one for me and totally screwed it up and then claimed it wasn’t their fault. My CVP had to clean it up ONE and Princess employees are not the same
  12. No my CVP has never even mentioned it to me and when I got a call from an unknown Princess number and I called her she was not a big fan of them
  13. Personal experience. On my last cruise the manager of future cruises on board was from England and had never been on a cruise in his life. None of them know how to book a casino deal like my CVP can. He also told an entire audience in Explorers that if you don’t book midship as soon as you can you will not have a good cruise experience
  14. Large ships coming into and out of Vancouver are dependent on the tides for times
  15. When a cruise is sold as 1 long cruise and b2b different cabins are available for each cruise. Those available on the long cruise will not be available on the b2b and vice versa
  16. Embarkation lunch is either 11:30 -1:00 or 12:00 - 1:30. We usually board later to avoid the crowds and it is only in one dining room so it can fill up
  17. Skagway can be either depending on how many ships are in port and where you get to dock
  18. I think sold off is not quite right They have contracted with ONE for marketing services. That is not unusual in business I for one would never work with them
  19. ONE employees are just sales people trying to push product. They know nothing about cruising
  20. This is the third party vendor that now runs the future cruise department on board. “Princess Promotions” has no idea about cruising and are just sales people pushing these so called “deals”. I won’t go near them with a ten foot pole
  21. In that case I assume everyone is going to stop complaining about chair hogs, older men hitting on young women, people shoving their way in to elevators, people grabbing food in the buffet, people starting political or religious arguments etc.
  22. The charge for the call would be for the number calling. Years ago we had a family emergency and lots of sea days so no way to call from ports using calling cards and we had to make numerous calls to the US. For some reason we never were billed when we asked they said they couldn’t find them. Hooray for Princess
  23. Vines is alive and well on most ships. Even has good wines within Plus package
  24. We never book in advance just call the dine line. It is guaranteed
