  1. We were on that trip with you! Actually we decided we were “one and done” with Cape Verde. Was ok to visit but don’t need to return.
  2. We’ve used Welcome pickups in several cities, including Athens. The drivers are on-time, courteous, excited about their cities, the cars are immaculate and the cost very reasonable. We like because we can schedule a pickup, recognize the driver and we don’t have so wonder if an Uber driver is in the area. We’ve had the experience of no Uber drivers at the time we needed a ride to the airport.

    On Venus

My husband loves the Success Cake in Mamsen’s. The pieces are large.
  4. You determined. It was easier for us because my sister and brother in law were with us and neither of them wanted to drive. In addition, they are both short so it worked out. There were a number of people who couldn’t drive because they didn’t know how to drive a stick shift and/or were terrified of uphill switch backs with extremely narrow roads (the one picture shows the road through a town).
  5. I don’t remember. Maybe an hour? We went to the falconry first and then to the park—which may be on the way back? Sorry.
  6. Not jeeps but stick shift. 4 per vehicle.
  7. Yes, we did this one. Lots of hairpin turns going up, stop in. Small village for food and drink then down to another place for coffee & dessert (which had to be paid for separately—no one was info’s this beforehand) and then back to the port. A great way to see the island and terrain. Not for faint hearted drivers!
  8. Krka park waterfalls and falconry is an excellent tour. Yes, there is walking (and some steps) but the falls are incredible (as is the park) and the guy at the falconry is quirky but funny and the birds deserve your support. We loved this tour.
  9. Be sure to vigilantly check on your flight status if traveling into/from/in Europe the next months. A number of transportation strikes are happening—including over the Easter weekend. Don’t be that person who assumes that you will be fine if you have Viking Air. Munich and Frankfurt airports are closing on Sunday and Monday, for example, and passengers are urged to consider other transportation—however, trains will also be on strike. Heathrow security is going on strike soon.
  10. We have not done it but are scheduled on it this April. We’ve been to Canterbury which is lovely. Pretty little town and the Cathedral is impressive. The Britain at War is all day while Canterbury is not.
  11. No problem with extra lobster in Blu. No extra charge, no hassle.
  12. Perhaps indicative—the Martini Bar hasn’t been very full whenever we’ve walked by. In the past, it was always extremely crowded.
  13. Specific ones you are interested in? I can take a look.
  14. You may want to reconsider depending on what you drink. Few of the premium liquors are actually available despite being on the list.
  15. No, the premium wines on the list are not, for the most part, available. They push the Celebrity branded wines as premium. Or the Decoy.
  16. Currently on the Equinox. OV for lunch has been fine—grill station open as well as carving station. The ship is totally full so very crowded. We are in Blu where the portions are smaller but fine in quality. Menu seems smaller in choices. We have been able to order off the MDR menu if desired. Folks seated around us who opted for premium drink upgrade are very unhappy. The bars have a “bulliet” /Jack daniels franchise and so many premium whiskeys and bourbons listed on the premium alcohol list are not stocked. Given the average age of those sailing on 10 nights and more, this is a real issue. The bartenders shrug. The wines are abysmal. If you like nice wine, bring your own onboard—two bottles per cruiser—we carried ours on in a wine bottle bag.
  17. Schweppes for sparkling water, Rain for still.
  18. We are on the Equinox and it is not worth it to upgrade as many premium liquors are not even onboard. Wines stocked are pitiful—thank heaven for being able to bring two bottles each. Many complaints from those with premium. We stayed with classic and some of the classic things are not even stocked. Very disappointing. We’ve checked with all the bars and they shrug—nothing much is being restocked each time in FLL.
  19. And Butcher’s Cut was very nice. With YC you get premium wine selection too.
  20. They didn’t open on Equinox for reservations until 3:30. The demonstration began at 4pm.
  21. Same for me! Connected to premium automatically.
  22. We’ve done both Celebrity and MSC suites and YC is, in my mind, a better value—especially if the MSC private island is on the itinerary. Yes, the YC cabins are smaller but the “public” spaces are larger and cohesive. Other than a few entrees, the food was pretty good—the pastas, risottos and pizza are incredible! Given Celebrity’s outrageous pricing lately, we would definitely go MSC YC. We’ve done six MSC cruises—Caribbean, Mediterranean and East Coast. Their private island is gorgeous and the Island Club for YC is fantastic.
  23. I prepaid with a pre cruise discount—under activities. Plus, as Elite plus, you get 5% discount.
