  1. No - that is such a pet peeve of mine... I'm a tall girl with long legs... my normal walking speed is probably a bit faster than most but the people who are significantly slower than general traffic and spread 4-5 people across, stopping people from passing..... oooo... that burns my britches!
  2. A VGK home game needs to be on your bucket list! The amount of production that goes into the Pre-Game stuff is like seeing a full-on Vegas show plus a hockey game! I hope you have luck with the internet while you're in Europe! At the very least, you can follow the play-by-play on the ESPN app on your phone... but I hope it doesn't resort to that!
  3. I might live in TX but I was born and raised in Vegas, so last night was great for me! I would recommend a 7-day trial of ESPN+ or YouTube TV or Hulu Live TV so that you can watch from Europe - although the games would be airing in the early AM for you.
  4. I still have 3.5 days next week... there is no word for how tired I am today! Enjoy happy hour - you've earned it!
  5. Personally, I enjoyed starting my cruising life on smaller ships. It was nice not being overwhelmed with the possibilities. The Western Caribbean itinerary is an easy one - those ports have TONS of choices in ports. If he likes the beach, I'd suggest Mr. Sanchos or Nachi Cocum in Cozumel. Both are all-inclusive right on the ocean with nice pools and decent food and drinks. Costa Maya is a great spot to go see some Mayan ruins. There is a decent spot only 45-min bus ride from the port (some others are 2+ hrs on a bus.. not my thing). In Belize, I highly recommend booking an excursion with the ship or just hanging out on the ship that day. Lots of great snorkeling in that area.
  6. I always ask my dog why she is deflating... lol Nice to see another Sid review - always good reading IMO! Have a blast!
  7. If you use Port of Galveston and park in lots B or C, just be aware that getting back to your car can be a lengthy wait time. I recommend Lighthouse parking.
  8. Welcome back! I've always enjoyed your reviews. Glad to see you're back at cruising and your ankle has continued to heal.
  9. That's the best picture of all. 😄 Thanks for sharing your trip with us!
  10. I just got off yesterday - drink package started at 5:45pm! Guess the captain was ready to get out of TX.
  11. I'm sailing on March 12 so I'm hopeful it will be a very clean and healthy cruise by then!
  12. I think it's more about the number of days in the trip than the line. My very first cruise was on Royal for 4 nights out of FL. I thought that was a great introduction to cruising! I can't imagine that there are many 1st time cruisers on an 11-day or 14-day trip - no matter the cruise line. If someone were to ask my advice on what they should do, I would recommend a 4-5 day cruise on Royal or Carnival to "get their feet wet".
  13. Loving the start of your story! Looking forward to reading more 🙂 Thank you for sharing!
  14. So glad you're home safe and thanks again for taking us along... I really hope this isn't the last Live you ever do but I also totally understand wanting to enjoy your time off!
  15. Sometimes.. on rare occasion.. similar items fall into my purse. 😕
  16. This is exactly what I've kinda puzzle-pieced together... If anyone has been on the Ruby in the last couple of months, I'd love a confirmation on this. Thank you!
  17. I know you've got a bunch of specialty dining planned but I'd love to see all the included food options - especially breakfast and lunch. Thanks!
  18. Yay! Another trip with Sid.. thanks for taking us along!
  19. Howdy! I know that the drink package on Princess & Carnival ships can't be used for alcohol drinks until day 2 because of the TX laws.. but can you still get soda and specialty coffees on day 1 with your drink package?
  20. chopped brisket sandwich, beaver chips (homemade potato chips), and the MOST important = peach muffin from the bakery case
  21. Loving the memories of my last cruise on the Freedom that are coming up with your review. Appreciate you taking us along!
  22. As said above, when we arrived between 12:30pm-1pm, we never stopped walking until we were on the ship! No lines and so very easy.
