  1. This post is on the disabled cruisers forum. Does the Skagway train still pick up right at the port? About how long is the walk from ship to train?
  2. On my Mexican Riveria cruise this summer, the CD said over and over and over again that we should not rent scooters.. they are very dangerous and they've seen way too many passengers with injuries in recent times.
  3. My DH got an email about 2 weeks ago with the new casino offers that included the DOU everywhere. We already had 3 cruises booked for the next year so he called and got them to update to the latest offer. We saved $$$ and got free drinks for both of us!
  4. Yay!! That sounds like a great deal! Hope you have an awesome time and WIN a BIG jackpot!
  5. I'm excited to follow along... I'm on the Miracle next summer to Alaska from SF.
  6. How exciting! Sounds like you have a great trip ahead of you.. thanks for taking us along!
  7. DH and I cruised on the Panorama in June and both earned a decent amount of points - him more than me, though. We didn't get any offers while on the ship (except a free steakhouse meal). About a week after getting off the ship, we got the 50% offer. Since then, we've only received decent offers on Australian cruises... which we aren't interested in right now. That was until Thursday - and we got a great casino offer! $100/pp plus free play and drinks on us everywhere. We actually called and got the offer put onto 2 of our upcoming cruises and saved about $5k. Make sure you check your account and see what you have!
  8. Tony pretends he knows everyone! LOL I also walk.. I don't ever want to be stuck in that traffic on the bridge!
  9. I love Jessica's! The staff is great and the huevos rancheros are the best I've ever had... I make it over there 4-6 times per year.
  10. I live in McAllen - Progresso has a ton of "Patios" on the street now! A lot less parking and a lot of bars with patios with tables and chairs. The sidewalks are packed with vendors. I love to take friends and family when they visit - we go early before it gets too hot/crazy. We get breakfast at the pharmacy and then walk the streets and shop and drink cheap beers!
  11. Yay! Another tribe-member LIVE cruise review! I'm sailing on the Jubilee next year, so I'm looking forward to reading your opinion of the same class of ship.
  12. Maybe check with a travel agent? They may get notices about last-minute deals...
  13. A small, rechargeable fan will make your cabin more comfortable in hot weather. A tablet/Kindle with lots of books downloaded plus the ability to download more. Do you listen to podcasts? Find a few that have daily or weekly episodes that you can enjoy while sunbathing on deck or walking the treadmill in the gym. Take advantage of all the lectures and classes that are offered... Not only will you learn something new, but you may also make some new friends!
  14. @Saint Greg Looking forward to another of your detailed live reviews! I'm finally going to Alaska next summer so I'll be following along on which excursions you enjoy the most!
  15. Exactly what @lasvegascruisingenjoying said! If you fly in early enough, I suggest getting to Galveston and enjoy the town.
  16. Our local PBS station has a show called Texas Daytripper. He goes to a town and spends a whole day - activities and food. One of the towns on the north side of Houston is Conroe. https://thedaytripper.com/daytrips/conroe-tx/ Check out some other areas too!
  17. Got these on amazon and they worked great... especially for swimming, beach, hot weather.. it doesn't get too sweaty on your wrist. They do fit an adults wrist perfectly even though it says kids. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09ZTMNCB6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  18. Why? I got OBC approved for a June 2024 cruise back in May.
  19. In June, we had Priority debarkation off the Panorama with FTTF (on a Saturday). However, we did not carry off our bags. So we were off the ship but had to wait about 20 minutes in the port before we could collect our bags. We got into a Lyft at 10:44 AM and arrived at LAX at 11:29 AM. I do not see how you could make a 10:30 AM flight - even if you were the 1st person off the ship.
  20. You no longer get to arrive when you want - you will need to check in online about 2 weeks ahead of your cruise and get an arrival time. Once you arrive, you will be checked in with everyone but then directed to the Priority boarding area. Once the ship is cleared for boarding, they will let Platinum, Diamond, suites, and weddings board, then call for FTTF. Your room is not guaranteed to be ready when you board but you can drop your bags off in your room. (This has been my experience - others have said they were told no... so I guess it depends on the ship?) You have a dedicated line at Guest Services, priority tender boarding, and priority debarkation. The price has gone up but my husband and I feel it is worth it to us to get on the ship early and have that dedicated Guest Services line.
  21. Remember that Princess Plus drinks also cover specialty coffees. I enjoyed grabbing a latte from the International Cafe each morning.
  22. Correct. We were on the Panorama in June and met in the theater and were escorted off.
  23. You may not "check-in" ahead of regular guests but you will be getting on the ship before them. That part of FTTF is great but the ability to drop off your carry-on in your room right away and the dedicated Guest Services line makes the $ totally worth it!
  24. I would have had no idea if I hadn't been sitting at the desk one day and noticed the QR code. I'm assuming most people don't know about it because each morning when I ordered, it was up to my room in less than 20 minutes.
