  1. I mailed in my wife's passport renewal, expedite service, on July 21st. Passport Office received it on July 24th. Just got an email today saying renewed passport book is in the mail and should be received by August 12th. I just sent it in expedite service because we needed a new one for a late October 2022 Italian cruise. I was worried I wouldn't get it back in time if I mailed it without expedite service. I'm just wondering if it was just a wasted $60 for expedite service since turnaround time was within 5-7 weeks. Actually got it in 3 weeks.
  2. It seems to be your disingenuous opinion. I've read many folks opinion that they observe the same. So, I guess all those people are nosy, too. Whatever. Tag, you're it. 😵
  3. Really? You must live in a bubble. You don't have to look for it -- it just slaps you up the side of the face. 😉 I agree, it's not my business or concern, but one can't help but notice.
  4. Exactly. If you order a drink in the DL, it is poured behind closed doors. You're going to get the "stock" pour. We were on a sailing where they rotated bartenders during Happy Hour. We met one couple we chatted with who followed one bartender from venue to venue, because he gave great pours. If you are drinking booze, it makes a difference. If you are just drinking beer, not so much. LOL
  5. Not exactly. I see people coming in late at night giving the bartender both seapasses to pick up the 3-4 drinks remaining. If you are sitting right next to them, you can see the obvious. Maybe they make up for it the following night, but who knows, and I just don't care. Just an observation.
  6. I think the ship compensates them in some way for every drink they serve using a diamond voucher. One dollar per drink, whether it's water, glass of wine, mixed, or just a beer, seems to be the going rate. I do see lots of folks who do not tip at all using their diamond voucher.
  7. I think the OP is talking about two single beds vs. one king size bed. BTW, there is an option that you can request the beds either together or apart. Check with your TA.
  8. I was on Summit in May 2012 and stayed in stateroom 3112. As I recall, they were pretty new then. I thought the seven staterooms on the Port side were installed around 4-5 years later??? I just remembered them being on Millennium in 2019 right after their refit along with Summit.
  9. That's the area the newer staterooms on the port side were added. I don't know when exactly they were added, but I know it was several years after the ones on the starboard side. I first noticed them back in July 2019 on Millennium.
  10. We always try to get 3112. It's the best of the lot. You won't hear any noise from the bathrooms on the other side. They have some newer ones on the Port side (3115-3127). They are in a private passageway. There's an entrance door to 3115 and the main entrance to those staterooms is at 3121. I would avoid those as folks coming by entering can see directly in your stateroom when you are leaving. There's an entrance to the service area across from 3127, and 3125 & 3123 have storage closets across from them. I wouldn't be too concerned.
  11. If Italy will currently allow you to fly into the country without testing or proof of vaccination, why would they require you to test prior to boarding a cruise ship heading back to the U.S.? This is a Royal requirement, and hopefully it will soon be lifted.
  12. I haven't read this entire thread. We just got off Summit last month and were eating in Blu. On two nights we ordered the 4oz filet from the kids menu. It was outstanding. If you are a big eater, just order two of them.
  13. Yes, ask the Matre'd to arrange a seat for you in the MDR.
  14. Room Service is free. No tip required, although some give anywhere from $1 to $5 depending on what was ordered. The cost of bar beverages at the bar and services such as spa massages and the like, the tip is included in the price. Additionally, although not actually a tip, gratuities are included in the price. If you have a favorite bartender or sommelier, some will leave a tip, but it is not required. It is at your discretion.
  15. I has a similar situation on Celebrity. Call your TA have have them work it our for you.
  16. Is this different from the RCL transfer that goes from the train station to the Port that charges $10? Where does the free shuttle drop off in the middle of Ravenna? Does it take Pax back to the ship like the bus stop in Civitavecchia?
  17. In St. Maarten, Marigot has some wonderful French restaurants down by the water.
  18. Take a photo of your vac cards on your iPhone or android. In the app, you will be prompted to upload your vac info. One of the options is to select it from your photos.
  19. We used two email accounts. One account we both have access to on our iPhones (for her), and the other a gmail account (for me) which I also have access on my iPhone. This way she has access to her results, and I have access to mine and also both on my iPhone.
  20. Looks like the 20€ taxi from our B&B will be our best bet. I'm not going to schlep luggage from our B&B to the train station then pay $20 to get on a bus. 😉
  21. We just got off Summit last month. There were a couple of night where I didn't find anything I wanted for a main course. My wife noticed on the kids menu they had a 4oz filet, so I ordered that. It was really good.
  22. The Blu kitchen is close to the MDR kitchen on the M-Class. On the S-Class, it is not close to the MDR. Blu is on Deck 5 where MDR on Deck 3 & 4.
  23. We cruise out of Italy in October, and Italy has no requirements for testing or vaccine papers to fly in. Hopefully by then testing requirements will have been lifted.
