  1. Port fee and taxes are not part of the cruise fare per the cruise ticket contract. They have been refunded to me for no shows a few times. Always came back to me the way I paid which was either credit card or gift cards. If your billing was to your travel agent and not Carnival then the money is sent to them. I book through a big box agent but my payments are directly to Carnival from my credit card or gift card so it is refunded directly to me.
  2. Your post is clear enough. Mitsugirly was asking what would happen to excess balance if she bought the bubbles package. She was thinking maybe the excess gift card balance would be applied to her sail and sign account. I was clarifying that is not the case. I wish Carnival would let me load some gift cards to my account prior to sailing but they won't. I think they want to "funnel" people into buying the non refundable cruise cash categories.
  3. Only the amount of your purchase will be used from the gift card. Carnival will not apply the rest to you account. Your purchase will be paid for and your gift card will still have what is left over as a balance on it.
  4. Maybe Carnival added this warning so we will know there is still a balance on the gift card after the transaction. If this is the case, the wording leaves a lot to be desired!
  5. They can get it if they have the 100 shares necessary. It doesn't matter if you are primary name on booking, but there is only one shareholder credit allowed per stateroom.
  6. I just added 50 dollars out of 100 left on a card. See my post #6226 on page 250 of this thread. I added a screenshot back then for people having trouble. Carnival changed the way to apply gift cards not too long ago. You have to add the gift card first, then go down and choose other amount to pay and add what you want.
  7. I bought a 1000 shares at 26 dollars so I have a ways to go 😉 but the 250 obc's do help. I look at it as in lieu of dividend.
  8. Nope, there are only four 8232's to be exact!
  9. I don't have a PVP, I just call the regular 800 number or my big box travel agent if I have moved the booking there.
  10. I see early saver all the time, it is the past guest that has been lost to history. I would call for the price reduction. I have filled out the form twice and received zero response back.
  11. I did the 14 day to Hawaii on the Miracle in January and at age 57 I felt young again when I saw so many people way older than me 😁. It was a very calm quiet cruise and the ship "went to bed" fairly early. By 11 PM most public areas were ghost towns.
  12. It is quick now for sure. I applied March 11th, got the new perk redeemed email from Stockperks immediately. It actually showed up on Carnival on the 12th, and then today I got second email from Stockperks stating it was successfully applied this morning.
  13. That email comes immediately after you put in the info. Usually a couple days later you will get the approval email. I admit I was a skeptic about using Stockperks at first, but it is working really good for me now. I just uploaded a photo of my holdings, no way I am giving log in info to any third party to my IRA account!
  14. You do but you can sometimes find good deals through credit card offers. If you have Capital One quicksilver they are offering a 5 year membership for $63 but you get $24 back through the offer so it comes to only 39 for 5 years which is a good deal. I pay for everything Carnival through gift cards. I joined AARP in 2022 and have saved over 2k total. Only caveat I have is anything you might cancel you get back gift cards............ you are married to them after purchase 😉 .
  15. You will hit plat on this cruise because if you have 67 and add the 8 you are at 75 during the cruise. Your last night is your 75th day. Debark day has nothing to do with the count. You will no longer be with the unwashed masses 🤣
  16. Did you make sure everything matches completely.... billing address, 3 digit code etc. I had a problem when I tried to buy some for my daughter and use her credit card. AARP wouldn't allow a transaction to go through where the AARP account name didn't match the credit card name. Another time I had trouble because my Google auto fill had changed my billing address slightly.
  17. 10 percent off and if you use the right credit card you can parlay that some more. I use my BofA cash rewards card to bump it up another 3 percent off for online purchases.
  18. Those pending charges will fall off but it can take 10 days. AARP can be quirky occasionally. If you use something like Google auto fill look very carefully to make sure every detail is correct.
  19. That is good to hear! I have an earlier flight at 1130 am and don't want to be in a line to drop off a suitcase.
  20. I know it is a bit late now 3/10/24 but did Carnival end up participating in the port valet? I am doing the 14 day Alaska cruise from 4/23 to 5/7.
  21. I reluctantly used the app also but have come to appreciate that is actually working and is quickly applied to my cruises. All stock perks got out of me is my name and email. I didn't answer their personal questions or give an actual address. And no access given to my account, just a picture of my statement. This is more evidence that Carnival is not ending the benefit any time soon. Why would they hire Stock Perks to do this and extend the applicable date to 12/31/24? I think many people are worried over nothing!
  22. I have not stayed in the Splendor 4J rooms, I just remember being on the front deck and noticing the windows pointing forwards. But I can guess they would be prone to a bit more motion due to being high up on the ship and in the front.
  23. That's pretty darn good view. I remember seeing some of the ones on the Splendor and they were much more recessed and I don't think they had that good a view. I meant balcony configuration as in same layout as a balcony room but no balcony.
