  1. According to Wikipedia the Atlantica was built in 2000, making it the first Spirit class ship. Spirit came out in 2001.
  2. Yes, I got 4 for each 2024 booking so 24 emails total for 6 cruises.
  3. You are correct, that is exactly how it reads! Probably supposed to be 12/31/2024 because I received no emails for 2025 cruises.
  4. I didn't see I promise! 😉 Turns out I got 4 emails per cruise for 2024 totaling 24 emails.
  5. Carnival is enthusiastic about the extension of their 30 percent off sale and sent me 25 emails to let me know 😉 Edit: didn't see the other thread and now I am being enthusiastic like Carnival in duplicating!
  6. Same here. I pay for entire cruises with the AARP cards. When an Alaska cruise costs 5k that 500 dollar savings isn't chicken feed! I go in with the understanding that if the cruise is cancelled, as happened during covid, all I am getting back is gift card refund and that is fine. Carnival has always made me whole with gift card refunds, much faster now than during covid fun times of course. And on top of the 10 percent I get another 3 percent for using my BofA cash rewards visa for a total of 13 percent off.
  7. We've come a long way from Carnival's guaranteed good time where they would fly you home at first port stop at their cost to now having to jump off and swim back 🤣. I imagine the corporate lawyers gave birth to a cow when they heard about this!
  8. Carnival said "you can resign and keep your accrued benefits" or "you can just jump of the back of the ship!"
  9. And why are they asking questions that don't need to be answered like income level? When the time comes I will only upload redacted info and be deleting the app after I am done.
  10. Actually they should buy chips directly with cash to avoid the 3 percent fee for charging chips to room account. There is no fee to use sail and sign cards at the slots though.
  11. No problemo! The only credit I know that doesn't get split is the shareholder benefit OBC.
  12. With separate sail and sign accounts Carnival will split the obc in two so you each get half.
  13. The Spirit class does galleys the best imho. Down on deck 1 in the back, keeping a very nice ship traffic flow.
  14. Galley! You have to go up or down a level to cross.
  15. Not sure but the last ones I saw on the Spirit class have been removed with the library to become the Wherehouse arcade about 3-4 years ago.
  16. Were you my neighbor? I took almost the same shot from room 6234 at 5:49 pm! I actually asked him if he was on the Panorama last Nov and he told me it was Marty who was from his hometown also and sounded similar!
  17. I had him on the Miracle also Nov 2nd and he was a good guy. Normally I don't even really care one way or another but you are right. He is down to earth and doesn't do silly things with his announcements. I asked him if he would be there for my January Miracle trip to Hawaii but he said he was moving to the Celebration.
  18. Casino bars and libraries are an endangered species on Carnival. Every dry dock seems to involve removing these.
  19. Just set up separate sail and sign accounts and have each attach a credit card! Unless they are buying this cruise type cash with a discount it isn't worth the hassle imho. The gambler should bring cash to avoid fees for credit card use in the casino though.
  20. And I mostly fly with Southwest also so you are preaching to the choir. I feel your angst!
  21. I am not fighting against anything. Other people removing their gratuities because they are a cheap arse is none of my business. If gratuities become mandatory then like I said, they are no longer gratuities. The incentive to provide better service is no longer there. The chance the they could be removed might just keep some of the stewards etc on their toes. And then there would be a new expectation to provide gratuities once again. The current system has worked for many years. I like it exactly the way it is. I hit the prepay box, pay it by final payment, and am done.
  22. There is no real benefit but it seems like Carnival apparently doesn't like the amount of hours it takes for their staff to process the shareholder credit applications.
  23. And it shouldn't happen. Once it becomes compulsory it is no longer a gratuity. Besides this there are surely tax implications for Carnival if they did. I personally just prepay mine and not worry about it onboard.
  24. I know when my cruise is coming up also................usually about the same time the airlines start messing with my flights!
  25. It would still be prudent to redact with this new app. Give them minimal info to be safe.
