  1. You posted the same question 2 days ago. The thread is just down the board, with several answers:
  2. ArriveCan was tied to Covid emergency protocols and travel. I believe it is no longer even being used. Worry about Immigration, not Customs.
  3. A simple Google Map search for "San Francisco Cruise Terminal" will give you a great starting point. And looking over at the West Coast Departures board will give you lots info about transport, hotels, etc.
  4. The final boarding time could be issued as close as 2 weeks to sailing. You may see boarding times prior to that, but the time may not be finalized until two weeks out. Discussed here frequently.
  5. The laws and regulations may have changed since then, because the city clearly stated recently they couldn't ban cruise ships.
  6. Ours have been further out in our cruises...not sure how it would work in your case, but they still might have you do it the day you board and submit immediately so your guide can have it for the next day.
  7. You will be assigned a time, you don't get to pick it.
  8. I would do the Noordam because it has Glacier Bay and Hubbard. A very common recommendation here is to try for a cruise with two glacier days.
  9. There is no one favorite or "best" for everyone on Cruise Critic! Not sure how there could be. Frequently mentioned around this topic is that Med cruises are typically very port intensive, with a lot of 8 hour tour days. The ship becomes secondary for many people.
  10. However, what I said is exactly what was reported as the city took its action. The city acknowledged they couldn't ban cruise ships, but hoped their actions would dissuade ships from stopping.
  11. Monterey doesn't have the ability to ban cruise ships. They are just refusing to provide any services to support the ships. The cruise lines can hire their own shore staff and provide the services themselves, and continue stopping at Monterey.
  12. Absolutely do it. Do be aware that Med cruises are very port intensive, with lots of 8 hour tour days. If you do book it, come back and do lots of research of which ports are most interesting, and which you might go easier in, with a shorter day, perhaps.
  13. If you are a week out, you can Google search for current and forecasted weather. Try "Cabo weather" for example.
  14. The port doesn't care. Its the cruise line policy that matters.
  15. I wouldn't try...the disembarking and catching a cab process at Boston port is horrible.
  16. The Greece board, where Santorini is discussed extensively, is here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/463-greece-ports/ Which one I would do depends on several variables. How long are you in port? How many other ships? How comfortable are you traveling on your own in another country? On our visit we tendered into Old Port, up the tram after about 20 minutes waiting, then took the local public bus over and a taxi back, after several hours wondering around and lunch. We came down the tram about 4pm with no line (only one other ship in port) and enjoyed the sunset on the ship.
  17. You are missing the point. The Covid era caused many in Hawaii to realize Hawaii would be better off with far less tourism than before Covid, when they set new records every year...over 10 million visitors in 2019. The infrastructure was not keeping up. The local attitude can be more towards reducing the numbers by making it more expensive to be there.
  18. FYI, it's the Hilton Hotel and the Hilton Garden Inn. I agree with looking around...several discussions around. The Hilton is a pretty nice hotel, with a great buffet breakfast.
  19. Many airlines are retiring the A380s. Too expensive to operate, compared to 777s and A350s.
  20. Actually, just outside of baggage claim in a foreign country, because you need to go through the Customs system.
  21. I would ask this on the RCI board.
  22. Absolutely not. The scenery is amazing...the best we have seen in 4 Alaska cruises.
  23. First, I think you are going to have only one "dressy" night...the sea day. Second, Taormina and Kotor are the only tender ports. Any port can be a tender port if there are more ships than docks, but that is fairly rare. (Note the fifth ship at Juneau, for example). Corfu is one place where sometimes there are too many ships. Third, if you book a private tour, yes, an hour after scheduled arrival should be fine. Remember, if its a truly private tour...just for you and your group...you own the tour. They will wait for you.
