I’m a bit late to the party but I’m here now and following along! Thanks for doing this live report. We may be looking into booking on Jewel while she’s in PC.

First of all, condolences 💐 on your loss. Thank you for taking us along with you on your first solo cruise. I’m looking forward to cruising along with you. Ft Lauderdale gets really busy during the boat show. Glad you were able to get a room for the night. I think that’s a good omen that you’re going to have a wonderful cruise.

Thank you very much, Benny! I love the itinerary on Grandeur and the idea of sailing out of Tampa. However, I think we’re very spoiled by the Oasis class ship. We’re downsizing a bit for our next cruise - we’re going on Odyssey. 😂 While I do think we could sail on Grandeur and have a good time, I think I’ll take the advice that your friends gave you and that you shared with me and pass on Grandeur. 🙏

Dining in the MDR with my food allergies has worked very well for me. We choose Traditional Dining so that we have the same wait staff every night. Because they get to know me and I get to know them, we are able to develop a relationship and I know I can trust them to watch out for me for the duration of our cruise. I have nothing at all against specialty restaurants. The few we have been to have been very careful to accommodate my dietary needs. I just hate having to go through my specific dietary needs every single night. I also like that it gives the dining room staff a head start if they have to make something special for me so they’re not having to do extra work during their already busy dinner time. I do eat in the Windjammer occasionally. I am always very careful and ask a lot of questions before I choose anything there. Windjammer staff have always been very helpful. I have never had a problem with my food allergies being accommodated on any of our cruises on Royal Caribbean or any other cruise line that we have sailed.

My f amity member would like that shirt too. He’ll probably get it the next time we’re going to be giving him a gift. 😀

We tried this on Harmony and only got half the towels we ordered for one of our excursions. We ended up going up to the pool deck anyway to get the towels we needed. Good thing we did because there were no towels available at the gangway available for check out. We did order our towels using ship’s WiFi, made sure all of our towels were scanned back in, so no charges for pool towels to our account.

I loved seeing the snorkeling videos, but I can see why you were disappointed. There’s a lot of stressed out, bleached out corrals there, and like you said, not much color at all. Definitely not the healthiest reef I’ve ever seen. It looked like a lot of snorkel tour boats out there too. That said, I still wish I’d been there with you!

Love the pictures of Enchantment and Oasis! We have been considering Grandeur out of Tampa because it’s close to home and we’d like to try sailing from there one of these days. I already thought we might experience some culture shock, or maybe ship size issues on Grandeur but seeing the two ships side by side like that - WOW! I sure wish we were sitting on the beach on Coco Cay trying to decide what ship to book next! 🛳😎🏝🐠

Please follow your doctor’s advice and I’m sure you’ll be fully recovered in no time at all. I just added the Sky View Lite app to my iPad. I took it outside to try it out. Interesting to identify the constellations and planets 🪐 Way back in my high school days I was very interested in astronomy but haven’t kept up with that interest over the years. It was fun to get back out there and know right away exactly what I was looking at. I’ve looked at the idea of booking separate cabins for us mostly because DH is a morning person while I’m a night owl. We would probably use one cabin for sleeping purposes and the other one for when one of us is awake while the other is sleeping. It hasn’t worked out for us financially yet. A suite with it’s suite benefits has been the better option than the two cabins so far but I do like the idea of the two cabins so I’ll keep looking.

Great review! I’ve been a bit behind due to internet outages at home, but I’m caught up now. You’ve got me really wanting to head back to the Southern Caribbean.

Thanks for the report on the Bamboo Beach excursion. I don’t think that it would DQ good fit for us,so I think we’ll find something different to do. Your input was very helpful.

I love all the Oasis class ships, but Allure is definitely my favorite. I’m glad she hasn’t been amped yet. I love Allure just the way she is.

What did they base the invitations on? C&A status maybe? Were you lucky enough to be invited? With all the good publicity you give them you deserved an invite!

Looks like one of the stingrays I saw in just about the exact same place on Coco Cay when we were there in September. The second one I saw was definitely smaller than this one. I swam with each of them separately for quite a while, but I hadn’t brought my camera into the water with me. Figured I wouldn’t see anything worth taking pictures of. I should know better! I was able to scan the QR code on the Compass you just posted. The page that came up let me sign up to receive the Info on Icon that they’re going to be releasing later today. I’m excited to see what info they’re going to be giving us!
