  1. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 I did wonder about that comment! We hadn’t even started dinner yet! When we’re watching from Fishlips we are both waving and eating like fools, especially when someone we know is on board the ship. There is a reason I never use auto dictate. While I make a lot of typos on my own, and autocorrect frequently changes what I actually meant to type, doing my own typing is still way more accurate than auto dictate for me. Most of the time when I edit a post it is to correct what autocorrect corrected but was what I really did mean to say. The others are when my 16 pound lapcat thinks he’s in charge of typing. 😻😇 Glad you’re enjoying the wave. I can’t believe it’s been three years for you! Hope the wipeout wasn’t too bad and any bruises heal quickly. 🏄‍♂️
  2. No pressure, but know that I’m certainly keeping my fingers crossed 🤞🏻 Live or post cruise, whatever you prefer. I promise I’ll be there!
  3. DH and I wished we were watching your sailaway today from Fishlips instead of the webcam but a Fishlips run just wasn’t in the cards for us today. We did wave at the webcam on our computer screen earlier. 👋👋 Did you see us? 😂 I followed instructions and Googled Vitus Bering. Interesting guy. I’m loving your pictures! Keep them coming! Hope the wave is open for you tomorrow. 🏄‍♂️
  4. Thanks for doing this live review. I grew up in CT and lived there until we moved to FL 18 years ago. I did a lot of travel around New England when I lived there so I really don’t feel much need to go back there now, but it is nice to see some of my old stomping grounds once in a while. I’ll enjoy following along with you on your cruise. 🛳
  5. @Sea Dog THANK YOU 🙏 for a fabulous review! I’m afraid I’ve been a bit distracted this week, trying to keep up with friends who were far more affected by Ian than our own little corner of Florida has been. Coming here when I’ve been able has truly been the highlight of the past week for me. Your pictures and the stories you shared were just what I needed. 🙏🙏🙏
  6. I’m glad you decided to do this live review! Can’t wait to sail along with you. Be sure to wave at the Port Canaveral webcam as you sail past Fishlips. We’ll be watching the webcam and waving 👋 back. I keep saying I want to book a cruise on Mariner. I have no idea why I haven’t managed to do that yet. Maybe I’ll get motivated now. 🛳
  7. I love the mooring shot! Thank you 🙏! I would have been in big trouble if I’d seen that cat! He looks so much like our rescue boy Oreo that I would have been doing my very best to smuggle him onto the ship so I could bring him home. I have an iPhone 13 Max that I got for the camera. Problem is, I’m still trying to learn how to use the camera, and how to position my hands when holding it so I’m not accidentally touching things and changing settings that I never meant to do and then try to figure out how to get back to the settings I originally meant to use. It’s going to take a lot of practice, lots of baby steps, but slowly I’m starting to learn. Here’s Oreo. He’s much better fed now than he was when we first rescued him two years ago. He’s still a little rough around the edges, but he’s the sweetest little boy we could ever want.
  8. @A&L_Ont, yes please to the live review! 🛳 Ian is headed for Port Canaveral as I type this so I hope he doesn’t do too much damage. We’re getting outer bands right now with a lot of rain and wind, but nowhere near as bad as a lot of Florida has been. Currently the wind, rain and storm conditions in general are much worse on the east coast.
  9. No way I’m forgetting that Symphony cruise! 😎🛳 We’ re two weeks off in April. We sail on Odyssey on April 16. An even closer miss is that some of our closest friends are sailing out of Port Everglades the same day as us, but they’re on Celebrity Apex! We did find out that some of our neighbors will be on Odyssey with us, but unlike us, they’re staying onboard for the TA following our cruise. If for any reason we have to change our cruise dates (highly unlikely but you never know) I’ll keep the April 30th sailing on Wonder in mind. Wonder is the next ship I’m thinking about booking anyway and it’s a much shorter drive for us to Port Canaveral than it is to Port Everglades
  10. We seem to be among the lucky Floridians. The storm has stayed well south of us and is staying south as it moves west to east. We had a couple of very brief power outages today but mostly our power and cable have been fine all day. We have has a lot of rain and strong wind gusts this evening. Sadly, some other parts of Florida have been less lucky and have had a great deal of damage. A lot of their damage has been from storm surge and flooding due to heavy rain.
  11. Bill, first of all Barry and I both want to extend our deepest sympathies for the loss of your sister. We’re glad you were able to see her before she passed. We’re also glad you were able to attend the services for her and still make it on board your cruise. It sounds like the rest and relaxation were exactly what you both needed. I loved your pictures of Harmony sailing out of Port Canaveral mostly because he had just gotten off her that morning. We seem to cruise the week before you in September on a regular basis Maybe the stars will line up for us one of these days and we’ll end up on the same cruise again. Meanwhile, I’m enjoying following you and Gina on Mariner now.
  12. In spite of my best intentions I seem to have fallen behind again. I’ve been busy watching the ever changing path of hurricane Ian. We’re hoping Ian continues to move farther east before he swings north so we’ll be on the west side of the storm instead of getting the strong eastern bands or being right in the eye of the storm. The next couple of days here in Central Florida should be interesting to say the least. At least Ian should be well to the north by the time you head back to Miami. Hope by the time you get back the airports are open and flights are back to normal so people can get home as planned.
  13. I was hoping you would say that! I’ve been taking mooring line pictures since we first started cruising. My DH thinks I crazy 😜 and just keeps walking when I stop to take them. 😱🤷‍♀️ It’s nice to find others who enjoy those mooring lines as much as I do. Sorry to hear about your GoPro. Hope you can get it repaired under warranty. I had both knees replaced seven years ago. It does take time to get them fully broken in. I still have days when they act up on me. However, when I look back on how bad they were before the surgery the occasional bad knees days I have now are nothing in comparison to what they were before I had them replaced. My best tip I can offer is to keep doing your rehab exercise that you were given post surgery. I do mine, I have good knee days. I slack off, that’s where the bad days come in. I’m just grateful to still be walking rather than being pushed around in a wheelchair because that’s where I was at before my knee replacements.
  14. I’m glad I found this thread, but I still have to go back and finish last week’s thread. I’ll catch up eventually. 😎
  15. I’m here and looking forward to enjoying your Symphony! If your ears were ringing on the 17th, that was me thinking of you as I took my own version of your mooring line pictures. I did not cross any forbidden lines and no whistles were blown at me. 😂😇
  16. I guess I’m spoiled after our two very low capacity cruises last fall. Last September we had 2200 pax on Allure, and early December 3300 pax on Indy. Both times we were the only ship there. I loved it! Felt like I really was on a private island. Coco Cay felt very crowded to me last Saturday. Harmony was pretty full, and Freedom was there as well. Felt like I was in one of our Orlando theme parks on a crowded day during high season. That said, yes, I had fun. I even found two stingrays to swim with at South Beach. Then I had the not so bright idea to take the tram back to the ship. Figured I’d get there faster than if I walked. Nope! The tram was packed and it took over an hour for me to get back, and that was just to the transfer station. I walked the rest of the way. Should have done that in the first place. Learned my lesson!
  17. Benny, I can’t stop laughing about your elastic PLANTS 🪴! Not sure how elastic plants are going to help you with all that food you’re eating though? 🤷‍♀️😂. Yes, you can blame autocorrect if you want. I do! We just got back from Harmony today, so you’re definitely helping me with my post cruise depression 😎😃. I’ll be following along.
  18. We loved them, too! They were not offered as a ship’s excursion when we went so we booked privately and had a great day there.
  19. @island lady, We’re on Harmony now. Seems like Fiona won’t be able to catch up with us. I’m just hoping she doesn’t follow us home. We don’t need another round of fried electronics at our house! Hope Fiona turns into a fish 🐠 🐟 storm so you and everyone else cruising next week can enjoy your cruises.
  20. I always enjoy your reviews, Radio, so I’ll do my best to follow along. I’m afraid I’ll be a be a bit distracted on the first week though since we will be boarding Harmony on Sunday. I don’t want to fall too far behind, so I’ll be doing my best to check in every day. Hope you have a great time on Oasis! 🛳
  21. It certainly is. This is coming from someone who has done many dives where sharks were present, including bull sharks. My experiences have always been totally different from what happened to that poor woman who died, and to her family who witnessed the attack. I have never once felt unsafe, but sharks are wild animals and as such are unpredictable. As much as I think sharks are absolutely beautiful animals and I have loved the many chances I’ve had to share the ocean with them, my heart grieves ❤️‍🩹 for the deceased woman, her friends and family, and the others on the excursion who witnessed the attack. Absolutely no assigning of blame to anyone involved in this horrific incident, just my deepest sympathy to all who have been affected.
  22. Watching our late local news in the Orlando area and this story came up right at the top of the news. https://www.wesh.com/article/woman-killed-by-shark-port-canaveral-cruise/41098171 Unfortunately, not a lot of details here, but I’m sure we’ll be hearing more about it. Condolences to the woman and her family.
  23. Our Brilliance cruise was in the same time period as well. IIRC, Brilliance was B2B country music charters. There was a Soca music charter around the same time as well, and, of course, that car dealership.
  24. Happened to us on a cruise we had booked on Brilliance. It went from a very low number of cabins sold on the ship overnight to very few cabins remaining. Then to completely sold out a few days later. Shortly after that I got the email from Royal that I strongly suspected I’d be getting - that the ship had been sold out as a full ship charter, that we would not be on that sailing unless we rebooked with the charter croup, and a list of our options for what we could do with our booking. There were several price protected options on Brilliance, the ability to transfer to a different ship without price protection, or cancel for a full refund. The situation could very well be the same for the cruise on Indy that you were looking at. I have no inside information so I can’t say for sure, but it certainly wouldn’t surprise me if that is what’s going on. Royal will not come out and say the ship has been chartered until the contract with the group looking to charter the ship has been finalized.
