  1. Belle - Thanks so much for checking in - I'm so glad that you are having a good time. I am feeling fine, just tired and still sore from the burns. Looking forward to our cruise in 18 day! Jan
  2. Good morning - Thanks KatieDub for starting the thread! I forgot to weigh myself before I had breakfast - Tomorrow I will try to remember. Jan
  3. We once found a dog on top of a 8 foot snow bank in the middle of a country road with no houses anywhere near. Good thing my DH has good eyesight. We named him Lucky and he lived to be an old dog. Jan
  4. Good Morning - We should have snow here now, but we are going to have 60 degree weather today. Makes me happy - hate that it gets dark so early though. I am the same that I was the end of October - I really need to get going on losing some of this weight - I would love to lose 58#, but would be happy with 29# --- I have a cruise on 12/7 and somehow don't think that I will be at any lower range by then. I do need to go through cruise clothes and see what still fits. This was the year for kids to go to their spouses family for Thanksgiving - one son will (perhaps), but it seems as if I am still having around 9 people here for dinner - now to find a Turkey - there have been no turkeys around here at the grocery stores or at Sam's Club. This year Christmas is my year to have all the kids - DH wants to do presents ... I would prefer to do games with the winner of each game to get a token gift and then have it about food and family with lots of laughter --- I find it difficult to come up with good gifts for the kids ... and it really has gotten to the point that they are all self sufficient. I have come up with 3-4 games and we will do the "pickle" present. Hope everyone is having a good week. Jan
  5. Jo - congrats on the small weight gain - sounds like it was a nice cruise. Ombud - sounds like you are doing ok!!! Belle - Today I rang the bell. It was a good day - I will probably go through testing in January to see how things are .... In the mean time I'm getting on with my life and am hoping that everything is now gone. I do need to get back to eating correctly and I know my a1c's are totally out of whack ... so really need to get back into eating correctly and losing weight. I'm so grateful for this group of people!!! Izena - thanks for starting the thread, sorry about the Halloween candy ... I know the feeling. (I do owe you an email - everything is ok!) Jan
  6. Izena - you are doing so well ... congratulations! Your cruise sounds great and interesting!! Its actually in the lower 60's here ... I finally weighed myself this morning lost the 0.6# I gained the last time, so I am now where I was the end of September. Would love to get down, but right now the energy is being used elsewhere. I have 7 more radiation treatments before I get to ring the bell. (I'm very excited) .... I'm tired and am looking forward to a whole day during the week where I can sleep in and relax. I am getting radiation burn and it itches and is very tender. Can't complain though, it could be worse The staff who are doing the radiation treatments are so very nice - I told them that they are all welcome at my house for Thanksgiving. (don't really think any will take me up on it). Hope everyone has a wonderful week. Jan
  7. Weighed myself today (after breakfast) and am up 0.6# from where I was two weeks ago. I'm really not eating much. Last Tuesday at the doctors (clothes on including shoes I was down about 4#) ... I'll try weighing myself correctly this weekend. Good luck to all. Jan (PS - Welcome KatieDub)
  8. We should all talk about our dishes!!!! Izena - how are things going for you?
  9. I have completed 19 treatments and I have 4 treatments this week, 5 next week and then 5 the week after. I'm ready for this to be over! I'm not having any pain in my arm or my chest. I do have a rash that is a little itchy .... no burning .... the Doctor keeps telling me that it will get worse, but I am just going to assume that it will be fine all the way through it. The most amazing part is that I think I could take my top off now in front of anyone ... that to me has been the hardest part. Someday, Belle, we will meet - that would be great! PS - I did all the dishes before dinner and now I have a new set, I usually try to do them all in the morning, but I seem to run out of time in the AM - Jan
  10. Haven't talked today as this has been a crazy day - had radiation this morning (it went well), then lunch out with DH ... I had soup and not much of it ... nothing seems to be very interesting. Met with my trainer this afternoon .... now home and almost time to make dinner, but first I need to do dishes. Jan
  11. Good Morning Belle - you are very cheerful today ... but, be looking forward to your newest cruise - I love Hawaii and so would like to go back, I have 7 cruises booked and really need to wait to book others, but I think Hawaii and Scandinavian should be on the list at a later date. Things are going well here the leaves are just about after peak season, but still beautiful - today it is going to be a lovely day ... lots of sun and no rain! Jan
  12. Good Morning Belle - Are you still on a cruise or back home? Either way hope everything is going well. I did not weigh myself this morning - maybe later. I Think my grandkids are coming over to go trick or treating and to give out candy --- they can take it home with them!!! Jan
  13. I did weigh myself over the weekend - first time in a month and I am up 0.6#. Could have been worse, right now it doesn't seem to be working to try to do much dieting right now. I just had radiation number 14 yesterday - only 19 more to go. It is going fine .... am looking forward to it being done. Jan
  14. Izena - wow a Galapagos cruise - sounds interesting!!! Jan
  15. Love hearing about everyone's cruises - I keep getting free offers from RCL, some sound wonderful, but right now the pricing for flights are way too high. Jo - hopefully I will talk with you before your London cruise adventure, but if I don't I would love to hear about it when you get back - hope you have a wonderful time. Belle - two weeks away - how wonderful - would love to hear about your cruise too. Izena - Hope you are doing well!!! Ombud - I haven't done a tea on board a ship - I am going to check into it. Today was day 4 of radiation - only 29 more to go!!! So far everything is going well and I'm hoping the rest go the same! My December cruise had a port change (hate when they do that) - Turks & Caicos changed to St John's Antigua - am a little disappointed as have been to Antigua many times (It is nice), but I had never been to T & C --- oh well ... at least I have a cruise to look forward to in the future. Jan
  16. Belle, I am eating breakfast - I do every day and most days it is raisin bran crunch - the dog seems to get some of it (no raisins). I have had 3 treatments - no problems (so far). Everyone is wonderful and very professional. My DH has been taking me to my visits when I really like, I do believe that soon I will we going by myself. I now only have 30 treatments left. Jan
  17. Thanks for starting the thread Belle - I did start radiation yesterday and go again today. It went smoothly so hope the rest do also. Jo - congrats on losing 1# - that is great - are you sailing solo or have others that go too? I had to look up Bruges, it looks like a wonderful place to explore. Where else do you go? Our next one is in December and I'm really looking forward to it!!! Izena - Sounds like you are getting some steps in! Being safe from squirrels is good - nice that Jazzper is taking care of you! I didn't weigh today - perhaps tomorrow. We had a great time getting away for a few days (we stayed in a great Inn - even got to stay in a turret room!). Jan
  18. Thanks for starting this weeks thread Belle - I didn't weigh myself this morning - but, am checking in! Hope everyone has a good week. Jan
  19. So, I actually weighed myself the other day and I am up 3.4# in a month, but that month I was down 3.4#, so I have actually stayed the same since 6/30/22 - Ha! How's that for logic?!! Belle, I will "just" have radiation - I will have it 5 times per week for 7 weeks total. I start on 9/21/22. Went from 20 times to 33 times and now 35 times - I am just looking forward to when I can ring the bell. Jo - I live about 15 minutes away from the cancer center (it is associated with Dana Farber). Everyone has been amazing. Izena - I ended up getting 3 tattoo's to show where everything should be zapped!!!! Boy, did that hurt having the tattoo's - I wasn't expecting it to be so painful. I have a birthday on Sunday (big "70" - don't understand how that is possible) - DH and I are going to an inn along the coast for a few days - the Inn looks like a castle and I have always wanted to stay there - for Christmas kids gave us two nights for a wonderful present - so we are going. I'm hoping to spend some time looking at the ocean and walking around!. Hope everyone's week has been wonderful!! Jan
  20. Belle - I think I might have missed your birthday! If I did - I truly hope that you had a wonderful day (I believe it might have been during your cruise) ... anyone dancing for you???? Jan
  21. Belle - I'm really not posting - but, I do read all the posts - congrats on not gaining. Izena - good luck with the surgery, hope that it makes you happy! Please let us know how it goes!!! I am still in a waiting stage - We did meet with the oncologist and they said they sent the lymph nodes off to somewhere in California and it came back that having chemo would not be a benefit and that radiation would be what was needed. They also offered me the opportunity to be in a cancer study - but, told me I shouldn't as radiation would only be on the spot where it started and not on the nodes where it had spread (I'm not going to be part of the study). On Monday we go and have a simulation of what radiation will be. They had started out saying that I would have 4 weeks at 5 times per week (20 treatments) - now they are saying that I will be having 33 treatments. I have not been weighing - but every time I go to the doctor's I get weighed - With clothes on after breakfast it says I am about 6# heavier. Trying to eat well. I did start meeting with my trainer yesterday. Hope everyone has a wonderful week. Jan
  22. Today I should have been in Boston - eating our way through the North End (Italian food) --- tomorrow would have been flight to Seattle (non-stop - first class). Then a 9 night and a 5 night. Turns out that I'm not starting any chemo or radiation until after the date we would have gotten back. Oh well,
  23. Wow Izena - that is wonderful - glad you were able to get some satisfaction from the cruise line! Jan
