  1. The Epicurean is really good value compared to land restaurants. We’re going to a hotel an hour away from us next weekend overnight and they have a 7 course taster menu with wine pairings. It’s £77 each and the wine is extra! We’re walking to a restaurant 10 minutes away for our dinner!
  2. Ahh I didn’t know that, I’m not booking 2 week cruises at the moment or I would like to do that.
  3. Afternoon all, day started lovely and sunny but the wind is cold, Now the rain is beating on my window, wish Spring would warm up! @grapau27 sorry to hear you need both hips replaced. My Dad had one done at 70yrs old and I always said he was leaping about like a gazelle after! He had the second one done 10 years later which took a bit longer to recover from but he was 80 then. I’m sure it will be worth it to get them done.
  4. This is a bit different on Britannia ( Aurora does similar but for 16 nights)
  5. Yes I understand that. I want to visit the Alhambra from Malaga, wouldn’t fancy that in August heat. Our grandson is starting school in September, they were very pleased to hear they’ve got their first choice, the same place he goes to for nursery!
  6. On the maps I was looking at it appears the ship is crossing land to get to Malaga from La Coruna!
  7. I know you want August but it will be very hot and busy. Would love to go on Britannia to the Med but not in August. Unfortunately Britannia is only going late July and August. However I’ve had two cruises cancelled to Malaga and Barcelona both places I really want to go so I like the look of the Arvia one in Sept/Oct as we can get both ports done in one cruise!
  8. Enjoying this thanks Vamps, looking forward to the next instalment.
  9. It’s a shame, you can’t see them unfortunately until you’ve booked. I’ve noticed you can see them without booking on Princess but the prices are eye watering!
  10. I can’t stand entitled people like that woman! What is wrong with people?! Have a great cruise 😊
  11. They’re ok Avril, thank you, but will never be fully ‘right’ especially my Mum.
  12. The promised sun didn’t come til the afternoon but we had a nice walk at Riverside country Park which is a very short drive away. Then we popped into Mum and Dad’s for a coffee.
  13. So sorry to hear this Josy, what a shock for you. I hope you find comfort in your memories.
  14. I’ve just seen it was a year ago today we boarded Britannia for our 3 night Easter cruise - the was weather glorious ! Today we woke up to pouring rain and although it’s brightened up now it is not that warm. Heres is a pic from a year ago today - take me back!
  15. I’m just jealous of you all who are bored of the same old ports! I’ve never been on a Med cruise and can’t see when I will be able to go on one at the moment after having three cancelled due to you know what. As for eating ashore, why shouldn’t people if they want to? That’s why some places don’t want cruise ships because many people don’t spend anything in the ports. I don’t eat huge meals though, if we have a decent lunch in port we’ll only eat something small back on the ship.
  16. What ship are you on? I’ve seen recent posts elsewhere that with Ventura and Britannia they were holding people back who arrived more than half hour early.
  17. Morning all I’m having one of my not sleeping well spells 😞 So annoying, a Saturday and I was hoping for a decent sleep. Been quite a lot of rain here this week but after today it will hopefully get nicer! Anyway I’ll see if I can get back to sleep for a bit, have a good day.
  18. First time I’ve logged in since Monday so pleased it went ok. Fingers crossed for you.
  19. Have you looked on your Personaliser to see what’s available? Normally there are tabs to click on like ‘dining’ ‘entertainment’ etc.
  20. Well I’ve still got to move my October cruise and next year’s cruises aren’t suitable for various reasons so I might move it when these new ones are released. I’ve seen some ‘bargains’ recently like £399 for Iona to Norway but when I look ( I want a balcony for Norway) that £399 turns into £1000+ to choose a balcony so no different to normal prices.
