Very kind of you, thank you. There was more mum stress last week but I don’t want to bore you all! She’s ok now. -

Ooh I’m jealous, I would love a Strictly cruise, I’ve heard several stories of how approachable Craig was on the cruises, happily chatting and having his photo taken. -

It wasn’t a private box but good nonetheless. We didn’t get to see the shops - I thought we would but I looked at booking a couple of the restaurants and they were booked up so we decided to stop at Bluewater for something to eat. When we got there (about half 5 and the doors opened at 6 for the 7.30 show) there were long queues outside every restaurant 😱 We decided to go inside the venue and that’s when we met the ‘angel’ who upgraded us! When I thanked her she said I was nice and smiley!! Her English wasn’t great and John was worried it was some sort of scam! She told us to wait at the top of the escalator for her and John wasn’t keen to hang around but luckily she got there the same time as us! 😊 -

Thank you. I don’t know if you know but Helen is dancing with Kai on the tour as Gorka is on his own tour. -

Morning all, just catching up on all the news. John and I are on leave this week and it started brilliantly on Saturday with a trip to the O2 for the Strictly tour! Such a good show, lots of banter from the judges, Shirley, Craig and Anton. There is a text vote each show and for our show Fleur won with Helen second. Helen has won the most so far. Amazingly when we were queuing up to get in an ‘O2 Angel’ approached us and upgraded us to a ‘suite’ or box!! I couldn’t believe it. There were other people in the box but we had our own bar and a toilet close by! -
Arvia Itinerary changes 30th April No Majorca

One of my cancelled because of you know what cruises was going to be on Ventura to Majorca and we were going to do the Soller train. Very sad the only 14 night Med cruises now offered by P&O are on Arvia. I know Britannia is going but only in August which would be too hot for me! Hopefully this new rule by Majorca will mean they’ll sent Ventura there again, we will see. -
Yes we often had a scone in the buffet as an afternoon snack, they were always very nice. I agree with Jean, I wouldn’t be able to have my dinner if I had the full afternoon tea.

As regards GP’s ours have been taken over by a group that’s got a few surgeries and we only have locums now. Luckily I haven’t had to see someone for a while but I just keep putting in my repeat prescriptions and they keep sending them to my pharmacy. I do know that you have to phone at 8am now and by 20 past all the appointments are gone and you have to try again the next day! Not looking forward to needing an appointment. -

Hello all, my Mum came home from hospital yesterday and when John and I went to visit people from the urgent response team were there assessing her. She’s going to get carers 3 times a day but unfortunately when they came to get her up this morning she was already up and dressed 🙄 This is the thing, she always wants to do things and she’s capable but it’s her falls that are the problem. As the lady said they can’t follow her round 24/7! I just hope she remembers the techniques she showed her to help. -

Thankyou. I was actually in work yesterday when I got the call and there was no problem letting me go. The manager I asked if I could work from home a couple of weeks ago on the Friday and didn’t let me was the one who said of course I could go yesterday! They changed me working in the office on Mondays and Wednesdays to Monday and Friday 2 weeks ago! Well I’ve hardly done anything this morning so I must go and do a few chores! -

My Mum and Dad weren’t quite as young as Avril and Frank, they were 19 & 21 when they got married, it will be 63 years in March for them. I always remember my Mum saying on their 25th anniversary she wanted to wait until she was 21 - my Dad said ‘bit late telling me now’ 😁 But then they left school at 15 so she had been out in the adult world for 4 years. I left school at 18 and got married at 22 so sort of the same. -

Well I’ve just spent ages catching up on this thread. Things a bit depressing here. My Mum is still in hospital and I spent most of yesterday up A&E with my Dad! The only good news is my Dad having chest pains/fluttering is that they’ve finally realised my Mum will get a decent care package when she comes out. I left my Dad yesterday and nipped up to visit Mum just in time to tell the woman who was arranging the care package ‘well that puts a different slant on it ‘ she said! Week after next John and I have a week off work, can’t wait as you can imagine! Might even get to use my sister’s Christmas present to us of a Cote Brassiere voucher! Stay warm and safe all x -

We’ve got a short break to Amsterdam booked in June on Ventura and I had an email yesterday saying Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the sheep are on!! It’s not school holidays so I’m very surprised! -

On the smoking front I’m one of those unusual people who’s never smoked one! When I was a teenager no one offered me one so I didn’t have that peer pressure. -

Morning all, very cold here, luckily no snow. I actually didn’t report in sick yesterday, John’s day off so I got a lift in which makes it easier for me, as I have to walk in the dark. Today is my day off so as they’ve changed my other day in the office from Wednesday to Friday so I won’t have to go in again until Friday. So I’m soildering on at the moment. Mum was a bit brighter yesterday but I don’t think she’s going to be home for a while. Just waiting for my grandson to be dropped off at midday so that will cheer me up. -

There is ‘compassionate’ leave but I always thought it was for a death in the family. We have 5 carers days in a year, I took one when my Dad was in hospital. I just didn’t want to use them all up at once as I think I might need them later. As I’m allowed to self certicate for a week and there is the option of ‘anxiety’ it seemed the most straightforward way.
