P&O SUE

It was fantastic, we’re leaving at midnight tonight so we won’t see much leaving! Funnily enough not long after I posted my photo I looked at my emails and discovered next year’s cruise to Amsterdam has been changed to Rotterdam!

Afternoon all, loving our cruise on Ventura to Amsterdam so far, we’re just sitting on our balcony watching our transit into the city. We dock in an hour!

Yes I would think so too, especially Aurora. We had 3 formal nights on Azura on a 12 night cruise, was pre you know what though!

I’ve read a recent report ‘elsewhere’ that on Ventura they flambéd the crepes by the table!

Thanks for your review, I must say I’ve hardly ever seen port talks on P&O just leaflets in the cabin with often a local map.

Even on Ventura we have booked Epicurean for the first night. It’s only a four night cruise but it’s virtually all booked up for the Epicurean, just the odd 6pm or 9pm left.

Very warm here today and I had 2 half hour sessions in my garden with my kindle. Grandson arrived at midday and was a bit grumpy as he isn’t keen on the heat. It felt quite cool in our house and as he had no desire to go outside we spent a quiet time indoors.

Morning all from my, at last, sunny and warm corner of Kent! Had Mum’s birthday lunch Sunday with son and family. We went to a local pub (save us the cooking this year we’ve got a lot on at the moment) and then all back to ours for a sit in the garden with sun umbrellas up and shade from the hedge! I think the temperature here went up about 10 degrees overnight! Yesterday I worked from home and I work in a North facing room, last week I had several scarves draped round me yesterday I was in shorts! Madness!

Thank you, she had a visit from my son and grandson in the afternoon and then we’re all going out for lunch on Sunday. My sister was invited but she’s swanning off to Santorini tomorrow 🙄

Morning all, my Mum’s birthday today so I met them (mum and dad) in a lovely local cafe and brought them breakfast, I mentioned it was her birthday near the end and she brought over a large slice of cake with a candle in! Everyone sang happy birthday and clapped! We got it boxed up and they took it home, I expect they’ll share it later as it was a huge slice! I start work at 1pm today, I must remember….!

All being well I’ll be onboard soon so I’ll let you know. It’s only four nights though so might be different and we’re overnight in port one night so I expect many will be onshore that evening. Even before the app the first night can be a bit manic so I’ve booked the first night in the Epicurean, feeling smug now as I’ve just looked and there’s only 6pm left now that night!

Ventura, where I’ve just booked the Epicurean, I’ve paid the full amount now. It’s not like the MDR queue just to get in. I got my peninsula discount so was happy to pay.

In Porto take the P&O shuttle into the town, I thought it was only 25-30 minutes. Where you are dropped off there was a land train but we got the HoHo bus that included a boat ride on the river, fabulous views !

Fantastic review thanks @Presto2 good detail. We last went on Britannia last year for a three night cruise and the only night the booking system went ‘wrong’ was the formal night. It still annoys me when I think of it now! We waited for nearly two hours in the virtual queue and when we decided to go and ask at the restaurant they said our table had been ready for ages but we hadn’t been notified on the app! I wanted to go to the Glasshouse but I was overruled 🙄 Knowing that the first night is often chaos in the MDRs I’ve just booked the Epicurean for our first night on Ventura coming up soon!
