  1. Up Sheetz Creek, the River Styx, and the Grand River in Detroit MI after sailing thru the Rouge River. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  2. I think that you are supposed to use the age of the person at the time they will be sailing and not at the time of booking. If there is a different in cost it will probably be caught somewhere in the system. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  3. The bench is great for laying out on the balcony and other types of workouts with partners. πŸ₯°πŸ˜± Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  4. I just did another mock booking for the exciting deals. 75% off of 2nd guest. Did one for a SS with 2 passengers and the same cabin for only one passenger. Amazing that the price for one was less than double. Maybe they corrected their algorithm. I also added the gratuities. The cost for 2 is double than one. I would think that for one it would be more than 1/2 for additional amount for the attendant because cleaning a cabin for one is the same as it is for 2. As the bed is still made up, the lav has to be cleaned and etc Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
  5. Sailed in all classes of Celebrity in suites and our last cruise was on the MSC Seahore and then a E class in a suite. Celebrity is a day late and a dollar short especially when eliminating the Butler. I understand that Celebrity is trying to bring back the butlers. The only advantage to me that Celebrity has is the elevator system and when not in the retreat areas it is mostly civilized. The elevator system on MSC sucks and when not in the YC area it is total chaos. Even with that for the value MSC wins but not for long The starting prices for a suite on Celebrity is getting out of my price budget and MSC is catching up. MSC YC doesn’t seem to be the bargain that it was. If I continue to take cruises and not in a suite it will be with Celebrity. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  6. We were in a Suite and had the same suite for both. The Retreat Lounge gets jammed packed. We had a rather β€œlate” breakfast in Luminae and then went back to our suite. We stayed there as long as possible. Ask the hosts or butler when you really need to be there. Even though we been to Luminae many times for embarkation it beats the lunch in the MDR. We did that on a B2B in Aqua. The MDR can be very crowded, with slow service and a very limited menu. Nothing special. I would take the Celebrity burger without a bun or the Lobster roll with double lobster and no bun. We have done that. We have also asked for and got different sides. If you are doing a B2B, ask for the same server if you liked them and greased their palm a little extra on the first cruise they will really accommodate you. On the last day during breakfast I seen a lady sitting next to us have a lobster roll. I am sure that she requested it the night or day before. Ask and you may receive Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  7. Look at the deck plan for the Apex and compare. How many bars do you need? There may be the same or more. If there is less the bars may have more BT’s and servers. It all works out There are more than enough. Naturally there are certain bars that are busier that others. It depends on the time of the day. I never had a problem getting a drink or dying of thirst. We would sit down and within a reasonable time we were served a drink. Not any worse than a land based bar. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  8. The coordinator will get the whole group together. Those in suites or changing to a suite have been in separate groups. After the ship has cleared of those that are leaving you will proceed off of the ship. You will walk that very long walk off of the ship and then thru the terminal. We were staged in that long hallway waiting for ??? We then proceeded thru the luggage area and thru the custom walk thru area and back to another holding area. There were chairs for everyone. We sat there and seen about 1/2 of the crew go thru customs and then back on. I don’t know the reason but that took some time. While waiting we were give our sea pass cards. We had to wait until the ship was cleared and got the Ok to board. We now walked thru that long maze again to get back on board. Then there was another wait. I guess for the check in scanners to open up. Getting back on board there is no one to greet you or tell you where to go. There is no need as you should know as you just got off. The staff is very busy trying to prepare for the new guests. We just tried to stay out of their way. If in a suite you can go to the retreat area and get some refreshments and etc. if not you can also get a drink as soon as the bars open and sit near the entrance of the boarding area watching the expressions of those that think they are the β€œfirst” passengers seeing you already sitting there with a drink Or you can go to the buffet, get a nice table and be the first to dig in and mess up the trays. Or just pick out a nice place around the pool, or any other area, relax, and avoid the hectic first day because you are already settled in. In the past the consecutive cruisers were offered the embarkation lunch in the dining room. if in a suite it isn’t needed. It is a limited menu but relaxing as you are served. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  9. Years ago people would book a round trip on an air line because it was cheaper than one way. They wouldn’t show up for the flight back. The air line wised up and somehow charged them for a higher cost than it would have been for the one way. Don’t know the real truth or what happened as it was years ago. I know this is the truth as I tried it and was told that the airline doesn’t allow it. I live 10 miles from the main airport for Detroit area. I live about 40 miles from the Toledo Oh airport. I wanted to book a flight to Las Vegas. It was a lot cheaper to go thru Toledo but it wasn’t non stop as it flew to Detroit and then the used the same flight to Vegas. I thought why not book that flight and just drive to Detroit and board there. Can’t do. If I don’t take the first flight I can’t get on the 2nd. The companies aren’t as stupid as we are or think. I don’t understand people posting on these boards ways that they beat the system for everyone to know. Ex upgrade to one premium pack if you both have the classic and then both β€œshare” the premium pack when needed. What happened? Everyone now needs the premium package in the same cabin if you want to upgrade. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  10. Especially one with benefits. Or travel with 2 friends for more interesting benefits. Very Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  11. You don’t need the cruise ticket either. They will take your old seat pass card when leaving the ship and give you a new one. They don’t want you to confuse the cards. You can request the old card back if you want it. Make sure that you have used all of your OBC as it doesn’t carry over. You will also have to change your password and reconnect to the ship’s internet if you have a package. If you are doing this in Ft Lauderdale prepare for a lot of walking, standing, and waiting in the terminal. . From about 9 to 11 you will be in Limbo as everything shuts down and doesn’t get back onto operation until around 11. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  12. I was told that the grass is removed when sailing in Europe because of the agricultural laws. We recently sailed on the Silhouette and part of the grass areas along the sides of the ship were removed and converted into patio type seating, The main area in the center of the ship was left and used for lawn seating to watch movies and etc. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  13. Before the cruise it will show up as available credit as previously posted when looking at Plan My Cruise . That amount is what came from the Celebrity and is NR You can see that the photo showS $35.65 in the upper right corner On Board on your folio it will be indicated by: OBCPCPN ONB CREDIT PCP NON REFUNDABLE and cannot be redeemed for cash. If unused you lose it. if refundable the amount will go on your credit card if unused at the end of the cruise. I think if you don’t use a CC you will get back cash. Best to check with GR, get a printed out foils and ask them what is and what isn’t. If the OBC came from Celebrity it is usually NR. If it came from you TA it can be refundable depending on the promo β€˜ Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  14. I have shown the BT a recipe and they made it. The BT also wrote it down to use for future drinks to recommend. They will make it if they have the ingredients. I have always had the premium drink pack and wasn’t charged anything. I don’t know what the cost would be if I didn’t have a package. On our last cruise I asked for a Sazerac. We had a stop in NOLA and that is a common drink there. They couldn’t make it because they didn’t have the Absinthe. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  15. Free coffee. Cheap food. Cheap restaurant to eat in. Swedish meatballs. Cheap furnishings that are used for lofts and dorms. Cheap kitchen utensils, dishes, lighting, bath furnishing, bed room stuff, and etc. it is a fun place to visit and easy to get lost in. Once in it is a maze to find your way out. You have to walk thru every section like some malls are set up especially in Vegas, or some ports where you have to walk past all of the shops. A place for people that like to constantly change their home decor and furniture. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  16. I did a mock booking for a Panama Canal cruise. Checked the prices of a SS. Did it for 2 passengers and 1. It is really sticking it to the solo passenger and not right. Same cabin with the prepaid gratuities. Then checked it with 3 passengers in a Sky Suite. It is a different suite number so I guess it is to accommodate the 3rd passenger. 3 can sail cheaper than 1 Unhappy cruising. πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  17. Cost is for the cabin. The price is usually shown as average price pp based on double occupancy. As shown in the attached screen shot that shows the average priced pp with the almighty * that indicates it is based on double occupancy If you could get a cabin and sail solo for the same average price as two in a cabin why would anyone book a cabin with 2 in it? I would book a cabin for myself and one for my wife instead of sharing one for the same price pp. We could get adjoining cabins, or separate decks, or different side of the ship for the extra space , convenience, and options. We would have our own lav, TV, closet space and etc and still share a cabin as needed. If everyone did that the ship would also sail at 1/2 capacity. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  18. The app is not really user friendly. It is difficult and confusing. They need to make it easier to navigate Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  19. Look on the menus that are on the app for your cruise. I think that would be the best way to know for sure, subject to change. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  20. When anyone books a cruise or a hotel you are paying for the room or cabin. 1 or 2 persons don’t really make a difference you are paying for the space. That is why the cruise lines will promote 3rd or 4th passenger sails free. If you rent a house or an apartment it doesn’t matter how many are living there. You are paying for the space. If utilities are included you may have to pay extra pp. I think a person traveling solo gets double the CC points. Therefore If I am paying for the cabin even though there are 2 people in it why shouldn’t I get double the points? I think that is not fair because I am paying the same price for the cabin and have to share it with someone else. A solo person gets the cabin to themselves. Look at the revenue being lost with only one person in a cabin. The gratuities pp, a drink pack if purchased that is required for all in the cabin, shore excursions, specialty restaurants for two instead of one, gaming, and etc. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  21. Is Bingo fun/worth it? Almost the same question. Some like it some don’t. If you win it is worth it. If you lose it isn’t. It is a fun as because it is an interactive type game even if you aren’t the contestant. Everyone playing has a chance to win something instead of bingo where the winner takes all. There are many opportunities to win something. I won $5 in free casino play. Played VP and hit a win for $500 Sometimes people that aren’t chosen to be the contestant win more by matching the numbers on their cards. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  22. I thought that was where she got her design ideas. My first impression of the new Edge Class cabins along with some of the public seating was that they purchased everything from Ikea. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  23. Were you aware that Concierge passengers have the private lunch In the MDR on embarkation day? Rather limited menu but you get to sit down, relax, and be served instead of dashing around the buffet. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  24. On our recent cruise on the Constellation in Mar we never stopped at the Martini bar. It was always packed especially from 5 to 7 during the Elite HH because those drinks are available there. It was the same at the other bars. When you have over 1000 elite and above on almost every cruise it isn’t going to change and will get worse. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  25. If you are Zentih you should be able to have the Retreat Personnel correct it as part of the benefits is access to the Retreat Lounge and print a new card. I would think that most servers know that Zentih gets the Premium drink pack. Don’t waste a lot of time in the long lines at GR on embarkation day. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
