  1. We bought those the Air Tags for Apple. We have them in all of our luggage and carryons. They work great. Our daughter has one that is for pets. She has it on their dog, and the dog also has implanted chip. The chip may help is the dog is caught and taken to a place that can access it. The tag will locate the dog. The dog is a rescue. It is a mix and didn’t cost much but it is part of their family and would be a great loss if it became missing. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  2. On the Apex 2 months after a hip replacement. Age was 76 at the time. Everyone recovers different. My surgeon told me the ranking of replacements and recovery shoulder is the worse, then back, knee and hip. It also depends on your physical condition before. My BMI a is 22. We were both very active before my replacement and many told me that is why I needed the replacement because at my age I shouldn’t be doing that stuff. We would ride our bikes 20 plus miles a day in good weather and during the winter the Beachbody programs like P90X and Insanity. Before the replacement the only time we took an elevator was on embarkation and disembarkation because of our carry one. On that cruise we always took the elevator unless it was a few flights and sometimes depending on how I felt we would take it for one. You need to listen to your body as they say. It is a long walk going thru the terminal in Ft Lauderdale both getting on and off. It seems to me like a useless maze of walking back and forth. It may be an issue if you can’t walk a long distance. I think they have courtesy wheel chairs if needed . I didn’t use one. I walked a little slower close to the wall and let other pass me instead of in the middle blocking traffic. Get use to the “sparks” flying every time you go thru the metal detectors. You will always be set aside to get the once over. I would tell them about my hip and said I will show my scar. They still had to do it because in reality I could also have something illegal on me. On the islands we did a lot of walking. Not as fast as we use to but still walked. You need to use and exercise it. Hopefully it won’t be an issue for you. Enjoy your cruise Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  3. Here is an example of interpretation. My wife watches those daytime talk shows. Rachel Ray was on and her husband was making a drink that had some dried blood orange slices in it. He said they are easy to make. Slice some oranges and put them in a low oven. That was all he said. I was walking thru the room when he said that. I said to my wife “ I wonder why the height of the oven makes a difference?” She said you know what they mean. I then laughed and told her about all of the comedy skits in movies and on TV that showed people making something by following the instructions, Our Gang Comedy, Lucy, Laural and Hardy, Marx Brothers, and etc. Whip or beat the milk or butter, throw or toss in, separate the eggs, set aside, and etc. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  4. I had a classic package and asked for a classic martini using Tito’s at the Martini bar. I was told that they can’t do that because they don’t have the small glasses. I said that is OK. Make it and use a Manhattan glass. Problem solved Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  5. Our server told that they we English style and not the southern style that we are use to in the USA. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  6. We did the Chefs Market Tour. During dinner the chef asked if there were any question. I asked why are the same dishes prepared different from cruise to cruise and ship to ship and presented different. He said it is impossible as they have to follow the recipe and instructions. There was no sense arguing with him but I have experienced it as not true. I don’t know why but the other guests agreed with him 🤷‍♂️. It is the same at the bars. The BTs may use the same ingredients but the drinks will be different. Years ago I bought an electronic dictionary and thesaurus that also had a calculator built in all on one side with one screen plus some word games. My wife like it and wanted one. I bought her the same model but it was different. There was the dictionary and thesaurus on one side and on the back side was a calculator with another screen and key pads. It was as described but probably made by a different company and made according to their interpretation. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  7. You really don’t want to stay on board because everything is shut down. We have been on B2B many times and there isn’t anything except sit and wait. No internet except for your cellular plan , no drink service, no food and etc. It is best to get off and let them prepare the ship for the next cruise. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  8. The new menu exactly as shown on the App. So it must be official and not someone messing with the app. Thanks Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  9. We were on the Apex a year ago. They are still the same prices that were in the Eden Bar and the Martini bar. In the Eden those are the same prices, $15 to $20. We tried all of the $15 and had the Garden for the $5 upcharge. We didn’t like any of them but it doesn’t mean that you wouldn’t. The strange smell that many complain about thinking that it is intentionally added to the air in Eden comes from the bar when they smoke infuse a drink. The $15 martini is still the regular size martini that they always had. It isn’t the small one that they serve for the events with the free drinks. The $18 is a much larger one. I asked the BT about the $18 and he just shook his head, shrugged and said he didn’t know why they have it. I don’t know why anyone would order that and pay the upcharge. I never seen anyone with it. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  10. It also shows the same for Luminae on 3 in my app. Didn’t pay attention to it. That is certainly an error but I don’t think that the menu would be as it has items added that weren’t available before. I could see if items were missing but not added. Maybe the items that are no longer on the menu will be offered as an extra charge because they were popular with the guests. 🤑 Happy cruising 🌊🚢🌅🇺🇸
  11. I didn’t notice that the waffle was missing and I guess that is because I never order it . Good observation. It seems to be a rather cheap cutback for what i have seen that many enjoy. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  12. You aren’t missing much. It was 3 hard corn tortillas, a couple of eggs the way you wanted on one, refried beans spread across one tortilla, I think avocado over the other, and some salsa, lettuce, shredded cheese either over all or on the side. You can go to a local Mexican restaurant that is open for breakfast and get it the authentic way. The only time I ordered it was because I got bored with the regular menu being on board for 19 days in a suite. This is my opinion. Where I lived we had access to the Mexican culture. The school I went to was about 30% Mexican. My wife lived in a Mexican neighborhood. Our friends were Mexican and we ate at their houses and in the restaurants in the area. The real food wasn’t just taco, burritos and etc. Taco basically means a sandwich. They made a lot of fantastic stuff but like all ethnic groups they get associated with one type of food. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  13. The Cafe is a separate venue than the Eden restaurant. It has its own space. There is no charge for the cafe. They do offer the safe coffee service as Cafe al Bacio and there is a charge. There is also free regular coffee and tea like you get in the buffet and etc. Look in the daily menu or app. It isn’t always open and the times are limited. The brownies and cookies are in the top 7 sweet treats on the ship. The cookies are different than what are served at Cafe Al Bacio or the buffet if you like sun and can put up with the wind there is seating outside on an open deck. We didn’t find the cinnamon roll to be worth the calories but we watched one person scarf down 4 in less than 5 minutes. It was better than watching the Nathan hot dog eating contest that they have on the 4th of July. I guess he may have thought they tasted good but I don’t know how he tasted them. The menu is shown on the app. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  14. I was looking on Xs app for our Beyond Cruise. There is a new menu for breakfast. There isn’t the egg rancheros, parfaits with muesli, or granola. It looks rather interesting and refreshing with some new stuff. The eggs Benedict is limited to one choice, no hash brown potatoes, and there is no ham on the meat sides as there use to be. I think they know better to eliminate the bacon 😱. I may have missed some stuff but if I did I guess what I don’t know about I won’t miss, not that I am disappointed with the stuff that was changed or eliminated. Just don’t mess with the bacon. Don’t know how accurate the app is but it will be nice to have something different than what the menu was for years. If I don’t have enough variety there I can always go to the buffet, spa cafe, eden cafe, elite breakfast, or Cafe al Bacio. I doubt that there won’t be something that doesn’t help to start off another fantastic day on a cruise. If all else fails the old stand by liquid diet of orange juice, or tomato juice with vodka, or tequila or other variations will work along with some liquid bread as the monks would refer to beer. 🍺🤗 Life is great. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  15. Something that many may over look is that the gratuities are automatically added to the bill in Bermuda. It normally states that on the menu. Years ago we were in Frog and Onion having a drink at the bar. A couple next to us was there for many hours and feeling little pain. They were ready to leave and asked for their bill. The male used his credit card. The female reached into her purse and added money to the folder. As the BT was picking it up. As they were waiting to get the CC back he asked why she did that and she said because she thought it would be better to leave cash for the tip. He said I already applied about 20% to the charge. While sitting there we were talking with them. I said didn’t you notice that the gratuity was already included to the bill? He said that he wasn’t really paying attention as he didn’t realize how much they drank and shocked about how much the total bill was. She said that she looked at the total and left around 20%. He said I guess we really over tipped on that one. 18% plus 20% plus another 20%. Pay attention to the bill. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  16. It is called a clean cuisine. Doesn’t mean that it is any healthier. The Plant Based Beyond burger is good. We had it a few times until we did some research on it. If you are booked on the Beyond you should be able to look at all of the menus for all of the restaurants on the App. Blu is nice. If you want a comparison you can always try the main restaurants for breakfast, lunch on seas days, and dinner. Look at the daily menu for Blu while on board and if they’re nothing that appeals to you go to one of the MDRs that night. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  17. Seeing room service full trays of food sitting in the hallways the fee may help stop the practice of ordering room service because it is there. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  18. Read on another thread that the pool bar was the only one open when in Grand Cayman. I guess if you want a seat get there early. Alcohol wasn’t served in the Retreat area during that time either. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  19. If you want it get the first ferry of the day on the first day get there ASAP. When the ferry fills up it sails leaving people standing on line. It fills fast because of the other ships in the port. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  20. If you are told no you can’t do that ask to talk to the manager. If the manager tells you that you can’t do that tell him that you can because you read on Cruise Critic that others have done it. 🙄 Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  21. Look on the app for your cruise. It will show what the menu is night by night. It may not be that accurate but should give you and idea Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  22. You can’t be serious. You mean that you aren’t going to look for chipped paint and complain about it that it ruined your cruise? Or finger prints on the handrail or mirror? 🙄. On one cruise we were in Luminae for the first day lunch. This solo female in front of us in line asked for a window table. We asked for one away from a window. We were seated at the table next to her. When the server came she asked for the shade to be put down because it was too sunny. The server lowered the shade and she seen a stain on it. She pointed it out to the server. She kept finding fault with everything. The next morning she was seated at the same table. Asked again for the shade to be down. She seen that the spot was still there and demanded to be seated at another window and right now. There were none available. She said than clean the shade. One miserable person. The Solstice was the first Celebrity ship we cruised on. It made a big impression on us and we were sold. Enjoy your cruise. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  23. There is a cut off date for upgrading. I think it has to be before the 2nd or 3rd day from the end of the cruise. You need to check to make sure. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  24. It is in the same class as Mad Dog 20 20, Bali Hai, Boones Farm, and Rocket. Very cheap wine that was popular with the 15 to 25 year old crowd and winos. Very sweet and fruity. The girls liked it and the boys were more than happy to supply it. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  25. You can It anywhere you have access. I don’t know if I would want to go there for a coffee to take back to my cabin. It is at the back of the ship and a distance to the stairs or elevators. And their hours are very limited. 8-9:30, Noon -1:30. And may not be open on port days for breakfast or lunch. I don’t remember which one it was. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
