  1. If they have a beer bucket special and are sailing out of a port you may be charged the tax of that port that will eliminate any savings. This happened to me sailing out of Ft Lauderdale. Be sure that you are out of their area or asked the server to delay the charge and explain why Then give them a extra tip Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  2. Nothing new. It has been that way for a long time. I think it was implemented because many would book cruises with prime cabin location just to have them and then cancel Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  3. We did the train ride in St Kitts. Boring and wouldn’t recommend it. I am a train enthusiast and love the experience of riding the rails. This wasn’t one of them. It is rather rustic and the seating arrangement is very bad. It is a bench along each side of the car. You can’t see the other side because of the passengers and you have to twist your body 180 to see the side you are sitting on. Plus the cars really rock and you can’t stand up to look at the other side. We also did the Chef thing tour in St Lucia. Not worth the cost. We stopped at the market there and they walked us thru it showing us the different sections. We could have done that our selves and we did it before on our own. We then went to the Pink House. That was the best part. The area was nice and the food was good. The dinner on board was disappointing. It was family style and the entrees were for the most part over cooked. They were very dry and tasteless. There were a few hits but most were misses. This is my opinion Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  4. It doesn’t matter if you are in AQ. There is nothing special for AQ passengers. The buffet, maybe the Spa cafe, Mast grill and Eden Cafe, The sushi restaurant maybe also be open but there is a charge. The Martini bar serves olives and Cafe al Bacio has pastries. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  5. Among the perks and benefits is shoe shine service. Have you ever used it? If so did you also give them a gratuity? I think it states to leave your shoes outside your door. Not sure about that but I don’t know if I would want to do that. Happy cruising🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  6. Exactly. Some one will contact a TA and say they want to travel during a certain date and specify the category. If it is a great TA they will inform the client about the price differences but for the most part they will accommodate the client’s wishes. Less work and move on to the next call that been on hold. I am sure that there are many passengers that book a cruise without researching cruise prices. All they want is a date, category, itinerary and cruise line. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  7. It is a no brainer. I have seen this many times. Book the cheaper one and don’t worry about it. If the price reduces, and probably won’t, the cruise line will honor it Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  8. I also feel for those people. We don’t know how geeat we have it especially when our greatest concern on CC is about having to pay for room service, increase in the bev package, additional cost for a extra lobster and etc. Cruising is a privilege and not a right. There are more important issues going on today. We take for granted all of the freedoms that we have and forget about those that gave their lives for it. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  9. I think that it would be best to Inform the Coast Guard and then monitor them until the Coast Guard arrives. With the resources that the Coast Guard have it shouldn’t take the very long. Assuming it is in the Caribbean the Coast guard is probably within 1 hour. I seen pthe US Coast Guard sailing around Aruba and St Lucia, plus there stations at the US territories. They can also deploy helicopters with armed rafts to check them out and them allow them to board a cruise ship as being safe. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  10. https://www.usni.org/magazines/proceedings/2017/november/which-ship-has-right-way https://maritime.college/Boating-Rules.php Sail boats usually have the right of way, and they are usually smaller. It all depends on the circumstance. It is like the pedestrian has the right of way but he may end up dead right. I wouldn’t push the issue if in a smaller craft, powered or not powered. Happy crusing 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  11. So this means that Celebrity Supply issue 🤗. No oatmeal? Tons of it at Costco and cheap. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  12. Exactly. Those that pay more have access to more space and space that they may not utilize. How many outside decks are almost vacant? Here is something in relation to space ratio Consider these facts: The land area of Texas is some 262,000 square miles* and current UN estimates of the world's population (for 12 October 1999) are about 6 billion.** By converting square miles to square feet — remember to multiply by 5,280 feet per mile twice — and dividing by the world's population, one readily finds that there are more than 1,217 square feet per capita. A family of 5 would thus occupy more than 6,085 square feet of living space. Even in Texas, that's a mansion. Considering that the world seems to be crowded even though we are spread out around the whole world Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  13. I would think that a cruise ship would report them to the Coast Guard and not take them on board. How would they know if they weren’t armed? Seems rather dangerous. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  14. I think it will be shorter as the turn around on the empty tables will be available as soon as they are cleared. With fixed time dining when people leave their table it remains empty until the next dining time. It gives more flexibility or everyone. They will not longer have to wait until their designated time. I also think that the food will be more on the level of a restaurant instead of a banquet hall. The turn over will be constant instead of sitting there. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  15. Give them your Captain Club number. They need that to check with Celebrity. I showed them my sea pass card that showed my status and they said they need the number. In a few minutes I had my new MGM card. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  16. It is best to call your TA or Celebrity and ask them. If anything you would have to pay what the last rate was and it would probably be more than what you are paying. I made final payment on a SS. The current rate for one person is more that I paid for both of us. On one cruise that I booked I wanted to downgrade to from a sunset suite a lower SS category because we were in one and found that we didn’t like it. The prices of the suites went up and we would have had to pay more to make the change to the lower category. . We are keeping the Sunset suite. They would not let me make a even trade even though I was going down in a category. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  17. The flyer you are showing shows 90 days to book the next cruise. I think under the new program you have 90 days to choose the TA, or leave it with Celebrity and 1 year to apply it to a cruise. I don’t know if that applies to cruises booked using a certificate that was purchased before the new program. If you don’t use it it is refunded . if you do pick a cruise for a non refundable deposit rate and cancel you will lose the $100 pp. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  18. If you are in the same category for all of the cruises I would recommend daily checking the cabins available on all 3 cruises. After final payment we were able to switch cabins to be able to get the same one for all of our cruises You may have to change all 3 to do that but it is worth it. Even though they will move the hanging stuff it packing and unpacking all of the other stuff still takes a lot of time and inconvenient. You still need to keep out and repack the toiletries in the morning and any other items that you used during the evening night. The same goes for any decorations, wall magnets, chargers, and etc Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  19. No problem finding a area showing it We watched it in our cabin. The butler made up a wonderful charcuterie board. He would have brought us some drinks but we already had some stocked up, plus the beer and wine we had. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  20. If they start to charge a daily resort fee. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  21. The cabin attendant has to clean the cabin before you are allowed to occupy it. Chances are it may be ready when you finally get back on board from doing the turn around. Other than all of your luggage already being there it is still like a new cruise. You have to disembark and then wait for the ship to be cleared before you can get back on. It will be a little sooner than the “new” cruise passengers board. Our experience was always after 10:30 You may want to take your phone and or Tablet with you as there will be some waiting. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  22. I never understood the comment about the retreat being too crowded because all of the suites were full or sold. The retreat areas were designed for that capacity. The same with sailing on a full ship. The ship was designed for that capacity. Before the pandemic most of the ships sailed full. During the holidays they were almost max capacity because of 3 to 4 in a cabin. The only time I ever seen the retreat lounge crowded was on embarkation or disembarkation and maybe during the officer reception. I never had a problem in Luminae. I know we would walk up in the evening and people would be waiting because they wanted a window table. They can wait for it. The shades or drapes are drawn so what is the purpose? The passenger to space ratio is a good tool for comparison but I think it depends on how the space is divided or utilized. https://www2.cruisewatch.com/top-10/ships-space-ratio/ Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  23. If they close the dinner buffet will they relax the dress rules in the MDR? Many use the buffet because they don’t want to dress according to the rules for dining in the MDR. We went to a all day jazz festival in NOLA. We got back to the ship around 8:30 pm and went to the buffet for dinner as we were grubby from the sunscreen and being in the dusty fair grounds/racetrack that the festival was held in. We didn’t have the time to take a shower and weren’t going to put on clean clothes to go to Blu. The hostess seen us going into the buffet and said it is OK as you are, just come to Blu. I asked why are you here and she said that she had to get something for a customer. We said that we didn’t want to violate the dress code plus didn’t feel right about dining there being as grubby as we were wearing shorts, a sweaty tee shirt and having hat hair. I am sure that many coming back from other tours also opt for the buffet instead of the MDR for the same reason. If the buffet isn’t open they will have to be in the restaurants. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🌅🇺🇸
  24. Rather sparse compared to the one we got in Bar Harbor. The one that Celebrity serves I think is referred to as New England that is described as being drug thru the garden Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  25. It appeared to be a after thought from Celebrity and usually scheduled to conflict with something else because it had to. There were probably 100 max that would attend and they aren’t going to shut the ship down to the rest of the passengers so those 100 or less wouldn’t miss out on something. The few times we did attend it was just a few officers telling us the same speech that you will hear many times about how happy they are to have you on board ….. Before the shutdown it was scheduled in the Craft Social. We walked by and didn’t see many attending. I doubt if they will sponsor it again. If need to meet up with a group it is best to do it on your own. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
