  1. Talk about over the top! It is about 20 miles (32 kilometres) between the two and takes around 45 minutes. Taxi US$61.99 to US$80.58 Bus US$8.68 to US$13.64 Train US$3 to US$4 may be found if lucky, otherwise a few dollars more. Above figures from the internet and using currency converter, pounds to dollars. Two couples in a cab would work out at most a fraction over US$40 per person - a little better than US$174 per person I think!
  2. I am allergic to shellfish and crustacea. The information was given to the Shoreside Concierge when she made contact a few weeks before our December 2022 cruise on Eclipse. When we first went to Luminae - lunch after boarding - the Maitre'd was well aware of my allergies, as the information had been passed on from the Shoreside Concierge. I was assigned a waiter for the duration of the cruise. I was able to order from either Luminae or Main Dining Room Menu. I was provided with menus for the next day and made my choices in advance. Rest assured, you will be well looked after. Enjoy your cruise!
  3. Or convert the sofa to another bed in the evening. That was done for us on Eclipse in December. The converted sofa was very comfortable.
  4. I would have the passport renewed and stop worrying about the inadequate current length which MIGHT be OK, or equally might not.
  5. Absolutely true for random strangers, however, I would and do listen to the opinions of well traveled friends and then weigh up options if a particular option appears to be under a cloud.
  6. Very strange! We cruised on Quest, Journey and Pursuit in 2019 and Quest earlier this year, so those cruises are the basis for my comments in Post #8 above. Perhaps the plans were drawn up in anticipation of the other ships following Pursuit, but changes not yet carried out due to covid? Onward needed so much work and lost the lovely Drawing Room at considerable expense, so nothing left for changes to the Living Room?

    New website.

You have to laugh, because if you didn't you would cry! 🙃🤔😢
  8. Of course it is a significant difference - one I made much use of during our four cruises on Pursuit in 2019.
  9. The main differences are the space and very comfortable loungers as shown in the above picture. Obviously the bandstand is further into the room - behind the loungers instead of against the windows. The dance floor is shaped a little differently.
  10. My children are in their 50's, so I guess I am way beyond being one of the "bunch of boring old people in their 50's and 60's" We do enjoy an occasional show, we enjoy the live music in various venues as well as the opportunity to dance. We don't consider ourselves to fit the above derogatory description - or worse those people would have for people in their 70's and 80's! On our most recent cruise on Eclipse in December, we enjoyed meeting others of all ages, especially before, during and after dinner. It goes without saying that we enjoy the ambience of the ship, the wonderful care taken by all crew and of course the food and drink we neither have to prepare nor clear up after! 🤩
  11. Unfortunately Azamara has for some time (pre-covid) assigned cruises booked on board to the same TA who handled the cruise one is on when making the new booking, whether that is what you want or not. We had quite some difficulty having that overturned at the time of booking on board several years ago.
  12. There is another thread with the same title as this one.
  13. @greenbeanie is new to Celebrity, probably also new to Cruise Critic with a total of 31 posts. @greenbeanie is simply looking for help in a new situation, first time on Celebrity, looking for clarification and therefore peace of mind as far as various pre-boarding instructions are concerned. To me that is not as you say "making too big a deal." Can you remember back to the first of your 4.6k posts on CC?
  14. It would be lovely if it was "over" - it is not and never will be as it continues to mutate. We came home from our last cruise with an unwelcome addition - COVID.
  15. @tyler6597 is reporting on a May 6 cruise, this month, not last month.
  16. @tyler6597 from your post it appears that they are back to doing the one very crowded safety drill for everyone instead of the safer small group drills.
  17. I usually get emails, but not this one. "Added a dedicated call centre option for sailings within 30 days." Comment on another thread indicates there is no prompt to select a "dedicated area" and no new phone number appears to have been provided.
  18. We have done numerous B2B's with Azamara. You cannot "check in" for the second cruise before all guests from the first cruise have checked out. But, if you want to do a tour, you can "check out" of the first cruise as soon as the ship has been cleared and meet your guide. Remember to take your keycard for the second cruise with you! Check in" for the second cruise after your tour, making sure you return by the required time prior to sailing. Enjoy!
  19. I think we all know when a "sale" is not a sale - prices are inflated before the "sale" is announced, with the "sale" price reduced from the inflated price, not the previous regular price.
  20. We have had some excellent experiences with Guides of Tours by Locals in various parts of the world. Also with Dark Rome Tours and with a local company in St Petersburg, the name of which escapes me at the moment.
  21. We silently applauded a tour guide on a bus tour long, long ago before discovering cruising. On the first day, couple of older ladies wandered back to the bus about half an hour after the appointed time. They said words to the effect of "we will take as long as we like to see all we want to see." Our guide announced that as a result of their tardiness we would all now miss - naming a couple of itinerary stops between that area and our hotel, because all large group tours run to a timetable. Needless to say they were not tardy again! On another occasion I was on a ship's tour from Portofino to Cinque Terre (my third and worst visit there). There was a small group of younger self important cruisers with absolutely no regard for time instructions given by our guide, or the experience of their fellow cruisers. So, the tour was pretty much cut short for the rest of us, as after the first misdemeanour, the guide gave us meeting times which turned out to be well ahead of when we actually needed to meet up for the next leg - via boat or train - neither of which will wait for stragglers. What should have been reasonable times in each of the towns ended up as not much more than a quick walk through for the rest of us who took notice of the meeting times and as a result spent much time standing at our meeting points waiting for the stragglers - every time!
  22. I see you have found the specific thread for your question and have already responded there.
  23. Be aware - whatever is posted and expected can and has in the past been changed (and not for the better) at very short notice!

    New website.

Points still missing - and I have sent the screen grab of points prior to the website shambles.
