  1. If you look at the deck plans for Onward, you would see the square indicates a convertible sofa bed.
  2. We always back up electronic information with printed copies for boarding in case of a scenario like that in post #6. We also always tag our bags after once having a bag tagged incorrectly and taking until just before departure to get it delivered. We had shared a cab from a hotel with another cruiser and the bag was tagged with her room number. I spent all afternoon to and from guest relations, even giving them the other cruisers name and she spent all afternoon sending my bag back with the information it was mine. Unfortunately we did not have each other's room numbers! It was another line, cruising from Copenhagen.
  3. We will be on board next month from Sydney to Perth (Fremantle) and the Azamazing Evening is scheduled for Adelaide. Looks to be a great improvement on the dismal failure in Fremantle several years ago!
  4. I wonder whether location has anything to do with the problem? At present mine is OK in Australia.
  5. It would be a very good idea to use the link provided by @mom says We cruised in a suite in December and through the shoreside Concierge my allergies were conveyed to the ship. After boarding at 12, doing the safety drill and leaving our carry-ons in our room, we went to Luminae for lunch. I was introduced to "my waiter" who was already well aware of my allergies and looked after me very well throughout an enjoyable cruise. On another line, I have emailed the relevant department of the ship and if new to the line, met with the Maitre d' on the first day. After cruising for some time with one line, I would get a friendly response to my email confirming the staff were well aware of my allergies. 🙂 I have found all ships we have sailed on have been very careful, as they have no desire to be at fault for causing a severe allergic reaction! As @cruzzzinma indicated, it helps to be as specific as you can when listing your allergies. Enjoy your cruise!
  6. We cruised on Eclipse in December Sydney - South Pacific - Sydney. Testing is required in Australia prior to boarding. All crew were masked and we wore masks as we do at home in public areas where "social distancing" is not possible. Passengers were requested to wear masks in the casino and theatre, but not all complied although supplies of masks were placed at the entrances. In the areas we frequented I would estimate mask wearing by passengers was above the 5% quoted by several others on different ships, probably more like 15% in the comment by @Jim_Iain We were impressed to see constant cleaning of all hand rails on the stairways, as well as the lift buttons and rails. Hand sanitiser was of course in plentiful supply! Ships disembarking and embarking in Australian ports are required to submit the number of covid cases on board at least 24 hours prior to docking. "Levels" are classed as documented in this link : https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/travel/cruising-rules?fbclid=IwAR2eeLOiU-Foe51LlU4k7OlliNbw5xCuC6rIYXvtz0X2J7Qs71OKIqsyKDo The cruise before ours was level 2, our cruise on return was level 1.
  7. Lost count of how long . . . each time queried we are told "it is in the system" I think it has disappeared down a deep hole!
  8. In December ours were the second night and the second last night.
  9. You may find the Concierge able to arrange a suitable private tour or tours for you. They will not come cheap, but will certainly suit your needs.
  10. We boarded in Sydney (Australia, not USA or Canada) early in December and received an email a day or so before boarding informing us that boarding times would be strictly enforced. A very smooth process, with various check points well separated and no feeling of being crowded throughout.
  11. Enjoy your cruise! Thanks for the information on Captain & Hotel Director. Perhaps you might find time to post all current senior officers on this thread : https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2872255-senior-officers-at-the-moment-post-what-you-know/page/2/#comment-64583663
  12. They are astronomical aren't they! Hope you make it to OZ at some stage! Perhaps prices may level out a bit once airlines have recouped some of their losses?
  13. I remember Vassi from pre-covid cruises - an excellent entertainer who packed the area both before and after the conversion to the Den.
  14. Like @Grandma Cruising we are now not keen on long haul flights and may well have done the last 14 to 16 hour flight plus stopover plus another flight of varying length to reach the point of embarkation. We have pulled the plug on what we had booked in August/September 2023 in the Mediterranean. We are looking forward to joining Quest in Sydney in February and cruising to Perth. Contemplating cruises between Sydney and Singapore with just one not so long haul flight.
  15. Our longest wait was about eight months past the date "promised." But it came . . . eventually . . . after regular follow ups.
  16. I do most of my laundry in the guest facility and some items go back to our stateroom without seeing the inside of a dryer, When using the ship's laundry, my bags have over the years been sent with requests for (1) cold wash, (2) cool/warm dry, NOT HOT please 🙂 and almost always everything comes back the same size as when it went. One very annoying time was prior to disembarking with another eight days land touring before heading home. Most of what went came back so small it was unwearable. Yes, I did go to Guest Relations, but there was no real response other than "sorry." It didn't stop me cruising with Azamara though.
  17. As others have said, best to address any problems or disappointments directly with the senior person responsible for that area while on board. They will be much more receptive and likely to address the concern for you than anyone shoreside. Obviously nobody will make an alteration for the better on your cruise if you don't communicate until the cruise has finished.
  18. At the risk of being shouted at : THIS MAY BE REGARDED AS SHOUTING. Or this may be regarded as shouting. Regular text like this should never be regarded as shouting. 🙂
  19. Thanks, I'm sure many will find your clarification useful. I had no information on a shuttle on the turnaround day in the papers I have from our cruise, only the half day before.
  20. Yes indeed, we have been there on more than one occasion.
  21. As @voyager1964 has pointed out above, @Bellaggio Cruisers is the screen name of the person who asked the question shortly before that thread was locked. My bad, I misspelled the screen name which appears to have caused some confusion.
  22. The answer would depend on whether you had a day call or an overnight stay, or docked and departed on the same day, i.e. changeover day from one cruise to the next. We were on a B2B and docked at 2pm on Wednesday 7 February 2018, prior to changeover day on Thursday 8 February. From the "Insider" of 7 February : "Complimentary shuttle : Will be offered from 2pm until 8pm. Drop off/pick up location - Dawes Point from where it is approximately 15 to 20 minute walk to Circular Quay and approximately 5 to 10 minute walk to The Rocks. The shuttle route takes around 30 minutes each way, depending on traffic. The last shuttle from the city is at 8pm. Shuttle tickets will be required for the buses from 2pm to 3.30pm. Please inquire at the Guest Relations Desk for available times." I see oddjob16 got in a more up to date post as I was writing! It could be helpful to know whether those shuttles were on a "port day" or on a "turn around day."
  23. "A new question….which CS is “on the hump”? With a larger balcony. Please offer cabin numbers. thank you. sheila" Hi Sheila, as the topic in which you posed the above question a couple of hours ago was subsequently locked, here is an answer in part to your query : If you check deck plans, you will find all stateroom type are colour coded. I don't know which ship in particular you are enquiring about, but as an example, on Eclipse there are only four Celebrity Suites on the hump - deck 10 numbers 1110 and 1233 - and on deck 11 numbers 1615 and 1618. If you are looking at another ship, you should be able to find what you seek on the plans for that ship. Trish
  24. Send them a copy of your letter. Good luck!
