  1. The DH finds interesting things to make homemade decorations. He buys the little round magnets in packs at Walmart, then glues them on. He likes to get creative. 🙂
  2. Actually D+ never had access to the SL. The SLs went in as replacements for the almost defunct CLs. Still find a few CLs on the smaller ships, but all the new ones now are SLs. On the ships that still have the old CL, D+ were permanently kicked out a few months ago. And now even Pinnacles don't have access if their numbers are over the "threshold" determined by each ship. Since the voucher program went in, we no longer venture into the CL or SL...or even DL except for early morning coffee. Like you, our go to for happy hour is usually the VCL.
  3. Was that through the odd door (I have never seen used) right next to GS?
  4. Simple way to figure it out. Pull up the deck plans and see that the "Promenade Deck" is on deck five. This is the same for all four sisters. Also sometimes called the "life boat deck". Which is a favorite of mine for early morning walks. A little different on this series, since GS is on deck four below the Promenade, normally it is on the same deck as Promenade or boarding deck.
  5. LOL! Though technically, since they opened up Serenade to the 17 mini legs...I guess we are on planned B2B set up with those now. 😄
  6. Funny thing is the last night when we are packing up. We will tend to walk right past our cabin after dinner since I have packed up the door magnets. 😄
  7. Calm seas and sunny this morning just south of Halifax NS. 🙂
  8. We adored RCI perks when we turned D+, and were even able to access the CL when we did, which was a big draw for us. There were so many nice perks with turning that level, and then the 340 (which was 350 at the time) was even nicer with more perks. Now....not so much. I guess you have to have been there at the time. Even Pinnacle is being curtailed now too. We hardly ever go to the shows any longer on RCI, too many repeats. I won't miss it on Viking. We have 5 booked with Viking over the next two years....but they are much longer than week long cruises. 😉
  9. We have had quite a few "consecutive cruisers" lunches during the past.
  10. "Sea" you passing! When you see Viking Vidar coming up from the south (Bucharest), give me a wave! 🙂
  11. I would normally love 1600, or even better for us...1100 (JS) on the Radiance ladies, but the noise and scraping of chairs directly above from the outside WJ is just too much. Late at night, and especially early in the morning during cleaning. Plus some pax think it's cool to do party time up there in the middle of the night. Have done one deck down in 9256 many times. Yes, smaller cabin, but deck 10 cabins insulates it a bit. Find the GS cabins on the four ladies along the side, more to our liking. But that is just "IMHO".
  12. Happily following along with high hopes of generous river water level for our 21 night European Sojourn on Viking Vidar in 3 weeks. 🙂 Grateful thanks to notamermaid for all her contributions. Much appreciated. 🤗
  13. Since 99% of my cruising is B2B and more...two things I stay away from: GTY cabins, and Royal Up. I don't like moving, and won't book unless I can get the same cabin on all legs.
  14. We are currently spending 9 nights here on the east coast of NS. Indeed yesterday was really wicked weather, a nasty "nor-easter". Strong winds, heavy driving rains, and wild seas pounding the rocks in front of us on the beach. Still foggy and dismal this morning, with 80% chance of returning rain, but not as bad as yesterday.
  15. OK...you first to try it. 😉 I will wait to see how you like it...or what your expression is. 🤢
  16. So do we, hence the switch to classier lines. Sigh...yes, more money, but tired of the degradation of RCI.
  17. LOL...I am just taking my cruise money elsewhere...which is a shame after 20 years of loyalty. I have no reason to be loyal to RCI any longer with all the cutbacks. Viking is definitely not cheap, but they value their customers. I want that again from a cruise line. This one...sadly, does not care about their long time cruisers any longer.
  18. My favorite is when people say "I could care less". When in actuality...it should be stated as "I couldn't care less". I always smile to myself when I heart the first version and say to myself..."Well at least they do care a little". 😄
  19. Funny thing is, now that we have made it to Pinnacle awhile back... I am no longer booking with Royal. Too many cutbacks fleet wide on everything, too much reduction on our loyalty benefits, too much nickel and diming. Just not the same cruise line since post Covid restart. The company got so used to all the cutbacks they put in place since then, they never reinstated them again. Maybe they figured we were all just used to it and would not miss them. But some of us remember.
  20. LOL... I just figured free was free, if it is vouchers or suite's drinks...still free. As long as they don't put $$$ through on the sea pass card. 😉
  21. OMG yes...Bucky put one on our door and it was constantly touched by the cretins, being turned upside down. Took it back down after the next day.
  22. You pick the check time in at terminal. Boarding itself is different and will be at the whim of when the port authority lets you board...which could be delayed for various reasons.
  23. Actually not just suites...but Pinnacles also. It is that separate area over on that far side near the back with the seats and couches.
