My suitcases get a lot of mileage on them now that we are retired. That gives more opportunity for rough handling. I needed to buy bullet proof luggage. 😉
Indeed, we are finally trying Celebrity end of next year. Like the route out of Tampa going up the Mississippi and the visit to NO.
Though the CLS cabins are on my favorite deck of 17 on the older ships, just not a fan of that design of those cabins with the stairs and lay out...hence why we love the Wonder with all of the single floor GS cabins on that deck. Pretty much just live most of our cruise on deck 17 on Wonder. 😉
Unfortunately, with so many changes with RCI now...and not being in our favor...I have started booking with other lines. Viking taking the bulk of my new bookings.
But as long as the Wonder is still in PC, we will continue to book with her due to loving the GS set up and being only 25 minutes to the port. 🙂
The vouchers are new recently...used to be the free drinks were in the lounge only, and indeed most ships being 5-7.
We love the new voucher program. Any hour, and any bar....is happy hour! 🤗
Indeed when they scratched Allure for her westbound TA last year, they subbed Wonder. Great call for us, since our GS was now on deck 17. 🤗 But most pax booked in CLS cabins on original Allure TA, were kicked out.
Loved that deck location for our favorite choice of cabins, being the GS. And have same cabin again for B2B next month. 🙂
Stairs itself did not bother us, we tend to take the stairs from deck to deck anyway. But was not into dragging heavy suitcases up those stairs inside the CLS.
So...like others....we mostly unpacked downstairs then walked up the stairs with handfuls of toiletries, clothes, etc.
To pack back up on the last day...it was raining clothes over the rail. 😉
Another related thing....keep a watch on the "my cruises" section. Scrolling down I found a balance due on one of my paid off cruises. Called to check on that, and was told they were refunding just over 3 bucks for port fees, but when doing so....kicked out my whole payment! 😮
If it had gone past final...would have lost my cabin.
A Junior Suite is not a full suite. Would have to be in a Grand Suite or above. You would also not have had access to the Suites Lounge/Concierge Lounge. The concierge is in those for the full suites pax and does an escorted walk off as a benefit for those paying for those higher end suites.
You just got lucky.
Keep in mind the check in time...is for check in at the terminal. Not boarding time, which totally separate and at the whim of the port authority when the ship is cleared.
And no...JS disembarks with every one else if you are self assist.
I don't put my money into fancy designer luggage...My luggage is Tumi. They would survive a nuclear explosion. It is expensive luggage due to being rugged...the porter gorillas have a hard time destroying them.
Long ago we stopped buying the cheap luggage, only to find it come out on the belt in pieces.
Same with us. We immediately tip a buck a drink, no matter if cocktail, beer, or wine...anywhere we order it (including the MDR/CK) to whomever serves us. We also tip some cash at the end of every meal.
We just received ours for the European Sojourn (the three week cruise) and are in a suite.
One sticker and one red leather tag per person...though we did get 2 paper tags each with the cabin number on them for the luggage.
Viking is definitely not the cheaper way to go. The included items do come at a premium. But to me... it is what they don't have....that makes it appealing to us. 😉
Could very well be the case. I know they give up your assigned early dining table if you are not there by a time specified by the ship. We always inform the host in advance, if we are not going to dine at our table that night.
There are always some pax from early dining that will have other plans at different times. though the no show tables are in the minority. MTD pax can't all assume they will get one of those of course.
